A. ELICIT
a. Prayer
Class, let’s all stand and let us pray.
Casey will lead us in prayer.
b. Greetings
Good morning Grade 4

Okay remain standing and let’s have an
energizer using an action song.
d. Classroom Management
Before you sit kindly arrange your chair
properly.
Are you done?
You may now take your sit.
Let’s bow our head and let
us pray.
“Angel of God, my guardian
dear to whom God’s love
commits me here. Ever this
day be at my side to light
and guard to rule and
guide. Amen.”
Good morning Ma’am!
Good Morning classmates!
(The students will do the
action song)
Yes Ma’am
Thank You Ma’am!
e. Checking of Attendance
So now let’s check first your attendance.
Who is absent for table 1?
Very Good!
How about in table 2?
Very Good
How about in table 3 and 4, is there any
absent for today?
Very Good all of you are present for
today.
f. Review
Do you still remember our last topic
yesterday? So, before we start let’s have
a review about Bones by having our
game Pick a Door.
In here I will pick a name and all you
have to do is to pick a door and you need
to answer the given question.
Now are you ready? So let’s start with
_____
_____ Pick a door
How many bones do adult have?
That’s correct, Very Good!
Next is _____ pick a door
Where do you find the smallest bone?
Correct!
Okay next, ______ what door would you
like?
What is the largest bone?
Very Good!
Next is _____ pick a door
What is the protective cage around the
heart and lungs?
None Ma’am
We’re complete ma’am
None Ma’am
Yes Ma’am
Yes Ma’am
(students will answer)
(students will answer)
(students will choose a door
and answer)
(students will answer)
Last is ______ we only have one door so
this door is yours.
What provide the structures of our body?
It looks like you understand our lesson
yesterday. Give yourself a Very Good
Clap!
(students will answer)
B. ENGAGE
For todays lesson I prepared another
interesting game. Do you want to play
another game?
This game is entitled as Arrange ME!
In this game I will group you into four and
each group will arrange the given letters
to form words. And the first group that will
arrange the words will be the winner.
Understood?
(the teacher will group first the students)
Now go to your groupmates.
And let’s start you only have 3 minutes to
do it. And the timer starts in in 3 2 1, Go!
Arrange the words.
S M C U L E
O L V U N A R T Y
O I L N V U N A R T Y
M A R M L U C S E
H A R M L U C S E E T
The group one finished first. Group one
can you say the words that you have
arrange?
Very Good! So, the group one wins.
Here’s your reward.
Yes Ma’am
Yes Ma’am
(the students will go to their
groupmates)
(the students will arrange
the word)
Ma’am the words are
muscles, voluntary,
involuntary, arm muscles
and heart muscles
C. EXPLORE
Okay! Same group. Let’s have another
activity.
(the teacher will give a drawing)
In this drawing you need to color the muscles
in the human body you may use red color to
do that and you only have two minutes to
color it. The first group that will finish the task
will be the winner. Now are you ready?
So your time starts now
Time is up!
The first group who finish the task was group
three! Lets clap our hands for group three.
So before we talk about our lesson for today,
What do you think is our topic?
Yes ______?
Very Good!
Yes Ma’am
(students will do the
activity)
Ma’am about muscles
D. EXPLAIN
For todays lesson we will be discussing
about Muscles a Voluntary and Involuntary
muscles in our body.
Now do you know what is muscle?
Yes _____?
Very Good! Muscles are body tissues that
can contract and produce motion.
Now did you know how many muscles do we
have?
Any guess?
We humans have many muscles specifically
there are about 600 muscles in human body.
Ma’am muscles re body
tissues
No Ma’am
(the students will give their
guesses)
Now are you familiar with Voluntary and
Involuntary Muscles?
First, what do we mean by voluntary?
Yes ____?
How about Involuntary?
Yes _____?
Okay in order to know the difference of the
two lets watch this video. Listen and watch
attentively.
Now did you learned what is Voluntary and
Involuntary Muscles?
So what is voluntary Muscles? Yes _____?
Very Good!
Aside from that Voluntary muscles are
attached to bones. They hold the bones of
the skeleton and give shape tp the body. The
body moves with the help of these muscles.
Now who can give me example of muscles
that are voluntary?
Alright, Very Good!
How about involuntary muscles? What is
involuntary muscles?
That’s correct.Involuntary muscles are also
controlled by nervous system and cannot be
controlled .
Now who wants to give example of
involuntary muscles?
Very Good!
What do you think will happen if we don’t
have involuntary muscles in our body?
(students answer may vary)
(students give their own
answer)
(students give their own
answer)
(students will watch the
video)
Yes Ma’am
Voluntary muscles are
muscles that we can control
(students will give
examples)
Involuntary muscles are
muscles that are not under
control
(students will give
examples)
(students answer may vary)
That’s correct. So its important for us to have
involuntary muscles aside from voluntary
muscles
E. ELABORATE
Now do you have any questions,
clarification about our lesson for today?
If none, then I will be the one to ask
questions to you to know if you really
understand our lesson for today.
What is our topic for today?
Very Good!
What do we mean by muscles?
Very Good!
What is the difference between voluntary and
involuntary muscles?
Very Good! That’s correct. It looks like that
you really understand our topic for today.
Give yourself an “Ang Galing Clap”
None Ma’sm
About Muscles the
Voluntary and Involuntary
Muscles
Muscles are part of human
body that compose of
tissues that can contract
and produce motion.
Voluntary muscles are
muscles that can be
controlled and they are
attached to the bones while
involuntary muscles are
muscles that we cannot
controlled instead it was
controlled by our nervous
system.
F. EXTEND
Its Brainstorming Time!
Choose a partner and answer the following
questions.
1. What helps your finger bones move as
you write?
2. Do your bones and muscles work
together? How?
3. Can you control the movements of your
arm? Why?
4. Can you control the beating of your
heart? Why?
(the students will choose
their partner and answer
the given questions)
5. When are muscles voluntary?
Involuntary?
G. EVALUATE
Individual Activity!
Complete the table by writing five voluntary
muscles and five involuntary muscles.
VOLUNTARY
MUSCLES
INVOLUNTARY
MUSCLES
(the student will answer the
activity)
