On Sunday 10/22/17 at about 2025 hours while I was at the Auburn Police Department I heard
dispatch advise, via the radio, of a possible stabbing at the Big Foot Java located at 407 Auburn Way
S in the City of Auburn, King Co, WA. Dispatch advised a male was stabbed in the abdomen, was
bleeding from the mouth, arm and leg, and there was a puddle of blood.
I arrived in the driveway off Auburn Way S to the southeast of Big Foot Java. I observed a black
vehicle and a yellow vehicle about 50 feet into the parking lot, to the west of Auburn Way S, and
southwest of Big Foot Java. The black vehicle was facing westbound, and the yellow one was facing

I applied pressure to the wound while continuing to search his body or additional injuries.

I entered the Medic One Vehicle and took photographs of Pearson. I observed Pearson had a large
puncture wound, about two inches in length and unknown depth, on the upper right portion of his
torso where his chest met his shoulder. I observed a puncture wound on the outside, left side, of his
upper left arm, which was about an inch and half in length.

Reflection About Basketball
Setbacks are a natural part of life that, yet it seems like I have had more than my share. In my short
seventeen years of living, I have encountered more obstacles than most girls my age. Though I have
encountered multiple setbacks, I have never stopped reaching for my dream. Since I was young, I've
had the desire to grow up and become a collegiate volleyball player. I was told by numerous coaches
that I had a natural talent, things came easy to me. Though the game of volleyball came easy to me,
the obstacles I have faced throughout my career were not easy. I have been through countless
injuries which led to multiple seasons sitting out. I have battled the adversity that has come my way,
I have never backed down, my dream remains the same.
The game of volleyball has been a part of my life since the fourth grade. At a young age, I was
playing at elite levels which challenged my growth on and off the court early. Learning to love the
challenge was something that constantly pushed me to be better. Competing at this level sparked my
desire to achieve a collegiate level. The volleyball court is a place where I have always found my
comfort and my confidence. It is a place where I could go to find myself, no matter what was going
on in my life. Injury began to fill my career on the court, which challenged my passion that was
deeply rooted in my heart.

Statement of Facts On January 1, 2011, Mary Brown (victim) went jogging at 7:00 pm on the route
she had been taking for six months and passing the usual houses. Upon reaching 123 Roper Street, a
man, John Smith (defendant) ran out, tackled her to the ground, jumped on top of her, and
eventually pinned her down. Then the defendant, using a box cutter, stabbed the victim in the face,
making a five–inch gash just below her left eye. While cutting the victim, the defendant stated, "I
watch you run by here every day and I wave hello to you from my window, but you never wave
back. You think you are too pretty to wave at me, well now you will not be pretty anymore." The
defendant's neighbor, Mike Jones, witnessed the attack and heard everything from his yard, but was
too afraid to stop the attack. John Smith has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
Mary Brown is a 30–year old mother of two small children that has resided in the neighborhood for
six years. She had never met the defendant until the attack. In the four years since the attack, the
victim has endured facial numbness, partial paralysis, and plastic surgery. Every day Mary is
reminded of the terrible encounter with John Smith by the permanent five–inch scar, he placed on

When an employee is injured on the job the first thing that needs to be done is that the employee
should first and foremost get medical attention.
Since the worker suffered such a traumatic injury, it is imperative that the employer first check on
the employee to check on the severity of the injury and upon assessment by a trained employee,
either the correct medical procedure needs to be administered to the employee or they should call
the ambulance so that the employee can be safely transported to the hospital, preventing further
damage and ensuring that all measures are in place to repair the injury.
After this, there the employer is required to report this injury to the Workplace Safety Insurance
Board. The employer is required to report an injury that will result in time off by the employee.
Since the employee suffered such a severe injury to the leg that will likely resulted in taking time
off, the employer will need to report this incident (Kelloway 96). The employer is required to fill out
form 7 and submit it to the Workplace Safety Insurance Board. The employee must also be paid for
the day of their injury (WSIB Ontario).

included in spelunking. In Roberts, it was unclear to the court if the waiver covered activities before
and after entering the hot air balloon. Unlike in Brooten, Warleggen's waiver does not followed the
term "negligence" with "OR ANY OTHER CAUSE." Warleggen's decision to omit that phrase
precludes the possibility for an overly broad interpretation, like construing the waiver to release
incidents involving recklessness and intentional conduct. If the waiver was overly broad and
extended beyond ordinary negligence, the clause would be invalid under public policy. The waiver
also includes "... ALL RISK[S] ASSOCIATED WITH SPELUNKING OR CAVING
EXCURSION...," which would seem to cover reckless or intentional conduct, but the sentence
preceding it describes what "spelunking or caving excursion" activities are and clearly states only
"ordinary negligence" is included. The waiver sets out the common activities included in spelunking
and cave excursions, while also specifically covering the activities that are common to spelunking.
Furthermore, the waiver language "Risks include, but are not limited to. . ." advised the Poldarks
that there were other risks to contemplate, distinguishing itself from the Atkins' waiver which made
it difficult to ascertain what was in the plaintiff's and the defendant's contemplation. Warleggen's
waiver is clear as to what is covered; it is unambiguous as to what key terms mean; and it is
unmistakable as to the injuries suffered by the Poldarks and the injuries that are covered. Since the
