As chairman, chief executive officer, and managing director of Pequot Capital Management Inc., Art J. Samberg built what was, in the early 2000s, the largest hedge fund in the world. Cumulatively, Arthur J. Samberg and Pequot Capital managed over $17 billion in 2000 and 2001. At its peak, PCMI had over 300 employees and was recognized as an industry leader during the time now known as the "Tech Bubble" of the late 1990s.
PCMI closed in May 2009 so Art Samberg could focus on philanthropy and the management of his family funds through Hawkes Financial LLC.
