Reach The Bag Game Analysis
My group has decided to create a low organization game. This game is called "Reach the Bag". In
this game there will be 4 teams and 2 teams will be playing on the court at once. The gym will be
divided in half and both teams will have their own side. Both teams will have flags around their
waist. At the back of each side there will be 4 bean bags that will be spread out in a designated spot
which will be shown by a few pylons. This area will be called the "Safety Zone". These bean bags
are the objects that the opposite team is trying to get to the middle. In order to get these bean bags, a
teammate has to run to the opposite side without getting their flag ripped off. If your flag is ripped
off, the player must get their flag and go back to

What Is My Greatest Accomplishments
From the first taste of accomplishment we go on to set new goals, and the goals we set aren't only
for the accomplishments and accolades that come with them– but most importantly for self–
contention to be the best we can be, to be great. Well my first taste of accomplishment came from an
orange sphere and a hoop as a child. On my 5th birthday, my old man brought home a basketball
hoop, not knowing what it was, I was intrigued at first sight. Looking back, as an avid sports lover
now, I can tell you that whether it had been a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, lacrosse ball, football,
a punching bag, a pool, or a track, the first taste of accomplishment comes from the first pass, shot,
goal, touchdown, hit, run, or leap, and from there you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We lead through the first half of play 35–25, I had only scored 5 points but my team was winning
and that was most important. We found ourselves in the fourth quarter up by two points, with 1min
30seconds to go I had 20 of our team's points. Norristown was on a role scoring 10 unanswered
points to put themselves back in the game. Our coach called a time out with one minute left. The
plan was to get me the ball, for an open shot, coach drew up the play and we tried to carry it out.
Our plan didn't fall through and Norristown got the defensive rebound, going down the court to
score 2 points on a toughly contested mid–range shot. It was our ball with 35 seconds on the clock.
We tried to chew the clock and get a good shot off, and we did just that. I scored the record breaking
basket with 7 seconds left. Norristown had the ball down two with very little time on the clock. We
knew we just needed one stop. One stop and we'd become state champions forever. Norristown
inbounded the ball and drove down court, we played them tight trying not to give up a three pointer.
No points we we're champions, 2pts would tie it and take us to overtime, 3points... well, 3pts would
end our season, and we'd come up short on being the best. Only two seconds to go, the ball went up,
off a deep three pointer. The hearts under every jersey, shirt and tie, and striped polo stopped for
those two seconds. It seemed as if the ball was like a rain drop frozen in the

Reflective Essay On Outdoor Education
One of the great aspects of Jesse Remington High School is the Outdoor Education program.
Whether it be going hiking, going to Moore Park, or going to the tennis court, everyone always has
plenty of fun and gets challenged in different ways. One of the events this semester that I really
enjoyed and valued from would the the Fall Mountain Retreat Hike.
The Fall Mountain Retreat Hike that I went on this year was in Vermont. Mr. Philbrick led the way
on the very first Vermont hike for this retreat. Although it was a mild hike, we still had some
challenges faced. At certain points, there were boulders in our way, so we crunched down to hoist
ourselves up through them. Once we finally made it to the top, there was a beautiful cabin with a
phenomenal view. Not only that, however, but there was a water tower! Most of us climbed
approximately forty feet up and got a better view than ever imagined.
On this hike, I learned an amazing amount of knowledge about myself that I did not know before.
One would be that I am very squeamish when it comes to walking through spider webs! But more
serious than that, I learned that taking a risk and not letting my fears control me will benefit me in
the long run. I am terrified of heights, but with a bit of a nudge from others, I climbed the forty foot
tower. Despite being nervous on the way up, when I got to the top, it was as if I I had no fear at all.
The view was overwhelmingly breathtaking! One last factor that I

Altius Golf Essay
A. Current Situation
What role has Altius Golf's choice of channels of distributions played in its loss of market share?
What other factors have contributed to its loss of market share? What will happen if Altius maintains
the status quo?
Altius Golf's choices in its channels of distribution have played a major role in its loss of market
share. There are two distribution channels when it comes to the golf market, on–course and off–
course, which account for 40% and 60% of unit sales respectively which result in 45% and 55% in
dollar sales respectively. Altius' number one selling product the Victor TX retailing at nearly $50 per
pack accounts for 70% of its total golf ball sales. Altius sells the Victor TX in both on–course and

D. Competitive Reaction
What are the risks to the Victor brand that could be bought about by the launch of Elevate? How can
Altius Golf use channels of distribution to help manage these risks? How else can it do to manage
these risks?
There are a significant amount of risks associated with launching Elevate. It is very important to
take all of these risks into account before making a final decision. A risk that every company faces
when introducing a new product into a preexisting product line is cannibalization. By introducing
Elevate Altius may in fact cannibalize the sales of its other golf balls. If the amount of lost profit
from Victor and Victor TX are higher than the profit gained from the introduction of Elevate than
Altius is losing money and introducing Elevate was a mistake.
Other risks include damaging their brand. Ferrari an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer for the
rich and famous. If Ferrari started coming out with economy cars for the general public its current
customer base would evaporate how can you claim to be a luxury brand and then start producing
non luxury products. This is the concern of Altius executives, some believe that as they are an
expensive golf ball brand that they are a luxury brand of sorts whose brand image could be damaged
by introducing a non luxury product in terms of the Elevate golf ball. This however in my opinion
this is a delusion Altius is not a luxury brand

Observing People's Behavior at a Fitness Center
Lets start by understanding that cultures are a melting pot of people's beliefs, language, behaviors,
values, material objects, and norms. Norms are written and non–written "expectations of behavior"
that govern a certain location, place, or culture (26). These norms also vary from culture to culture
meaning what is a norm in the U.S may not be a norm in India. For example, a norm in America
would be tipping a waiter after a meal. Another would be acknowledging someone as you walk past
him or her, typically done at work or in a public place. In all, norms are folkways, mores, taboos,
and written laws that are an established standard of one's behavior. For this assignment, I decided to
observe a fitness center (gym) setting and break ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon arrival, I estimated about 15–20 personal scattered throughout the room on various body
equipment. I noticed that I was the youngest person there; everyone else (by the looks) was ranging
from late 20's to early 50's. The first significant aspect that I always realize is that there are more
males than females, typically a 4:1 ratio. The diversity of race/ethnicity was noticeable but not really
a concern towards the atmosphere of the gym. Before I started the observations I did run on the
treadmill so that the gym visit wasn't a total waste. Afterwards, my observation was done in the
corner with the mats, while I stretched for twenty–five minutes. To begin, only one person that was
in the gym when I first arrived left before the observation began. Every person, excluding the one
trainer that was present, had earphones in. Listening to music while working out is typically a
custom inside the gym. There were a few patrons that stayed on certain equipment the entire time
they were there. Unless someone is asking about equipment or advice, there is little to no
conversation going on. One unique thing I realized is that there is no eye contact made between
patrons unless you are working out together or asking questions. For example, when I would catch
someone's eyes they immediately looked away (this also happened between other members as well).

Personal Narrative: Phoenixville
It was the last game of the season. We had won every single game except for one. Our team had tied
with Phoenixville, and today was the day that we would beat Phoenixville. Almost every day of the
week we would show up for practice for 2 hours, and we have improved by a lot.
Our game was in Phoenixville at the school, and the game was away. It was not the best day to play
a game, but our team was ready. Clouds filled the sky making it look like it was going to rain. The
ground was a little muddy from rained yesterday, and the sky was turning a shade of grey.
"You got this. Don't give up no matter how tough the game gets. You're ready."My coach said to me.

Great job Samantha!" The other team's parents had yelled. They stood up and cheered as teammates
from her team gathered around her patting her on the back. They made their way to the middle of
the field giving the ball to my team.
" It's ok Amanda! You got this!" My coach had said. The ref blew her whistle indicating we can
start. Maddie passed the ball to raina who passed it to maggie, making their way up the field towards
the other goal. One of the girls from the other team stole the ball and came at me.
" Come on! Come on!" The parents from the other team screamed. I got really nervous, I knew my
team was ready, they just had to push their limits. Everyone looked so tired on my team, and some
on the other. But the one girl with the ball did not slow down. I remember the last game we tied with
them. The same girl that was coming at me now was the girl who shot the last goal. She always shot
in the right corner, but she kept switching it when she scored that last goal. It happened the last 30
seconds of that game, and when she shot it last game, I knew I couldn't let that happen again.

Khan Academy explains, "The second law of motion states that force on an object is equal to the
mass of the object multiplied by its acceleration. If we apply this law to a football, it tells us that the
amount that the ball accelerates depends on the force applied by the quarterback and the mass of the
ball." ("Football Physics"). The less mass a ball has the further it's potential to travel is. The lighter
the ball is, the faster and further the ball can move. Additionally, Khan Academy writes, "The
second law also tells us that acceleration of the football also depends on the mass of the football. If
the player is throwing an extra heavy football, the acceleration of the football would decrease
compared to a lighter football that is thrown with the same force." ("Football Physics"). This quote
explains that the lighter a ball is, the farther a ball can be thrown. Also, the farthest a ball can be
thrown depends on the amount of force the person throwing applies to the ball. ("Football Physics").
When a ball is lighter due to less air pressure, the quarterback will be able to throw it further. The
less mass makes the ball lighter, and this will allow the wind to be able to carry the ball

Effect Of Air Pressure In Basketball
ABSTRACT
The air pressure inside a basketball has the biggest affect on bounce. The purpose of conducting this
experiment is to determine if a basketball with a greater air pressure (psi) inside the basketball will
bounce higher. The hypothesis for this experiment is 'If air pressure is decreased inside the
basketball, then the bounce height will decrease as well'. I have participated in numerous inflatable
ball sport activities and from personal experience this has enabled me to make an opinion on the
results of the experiment, which is expressed in the hypothesis. A video camera was set up on a
tripod, this was the main means of collecting the information by recording the bounce of the
basketball after being released from a height of 2.7 meters in front of a measuring stick. The
experiment was commenced with the basketball inflated to 12 psi and then the psi was decreased by
one unit until the basket ball was measuring zero psi. It was essential that at each level of psi the
basketball was dropped three times to gather an average resulting in more reliable data. When
conducting this experiment the findings revealed the hypothesis was proven correct. When the
basketball had the greatest amount of psi (12) it bounced the highest with a average height of
186.7cm. When the basketball had the least amount of psi (zero) it bounced the lowest height of
16.7cm. The results of this experiment provide valuable information to basketball players as it
identifies that having the right

Why Did A Golf Ball Grow So High Essay
Discussion:
From the information gathered from graph 1, we can see that each of the ball's bounce heights did
not vary significantly. Unexpectedly, the golf ball bounced the highest, smashing the tennis ball's
results. While each of the balls shared similarity in terms of their bounce height, the golf ball was
the only ball which bounced considerably higher than the others. The table tennis ball followed the
tennis ball, but the ball which achieved the least height was the baseball. There was a significant
difference between the bounce heights of the baseball and the golf ball
I believe that the reason of why the golf ball bounced so high was because of the material from
which it is made out of. As the golf ball hit the ground, its molecules ... Show more content on

This could have been improved if a clamp was used to hold the ball on the 1 meter mark, and if the
clamp was slightly lower or higher, at least all the balls would be dropped at the same height.
To ensure that the ruler is level to achieve an accurate result, a spirit level could be used. Even
though it may not make a difference when on a flat surface, it is always worth checking if you
would like your results to be as accurate as possible.
Conclusion:
The results from this experiment show that the elasticity of a ball does not affect its bounce height.
The golf ball was not as elastic as the tennis ball, but its results were much higher than that of the
tennis ball. The results in this experiment tell us that while elasticity does have some affect on the
bounce height of the ball, another variable is altering their bounce height. The information gathered
from the table and the graph did not support the

Sports of the Renaissance Essay
James Naismith, creator of basketball, used a soccer ball as the first basketball. The game of soccer
was originally played with an inflated animal bladder that was surrounded with leather (Leibs 67).
Just as in every sport, as time evolves, so do the materials being played with. The materials begin
becoming more durable, controllable, and affordable. During the Renaissance period, many sports
were evolved and took a turn for the better. Although many sports were introduced during the
Renaissance period; football, lawn bowling, and tennis were the three main sports that influenced
today's time period the most. The Renaissance period was a time of change and rebirth. During this
period, the rise of the Middle Class occurred. With the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As time evolved, the ball was eventually made out of a leather material. With this leather material,
the ball became more durable and controllable. The rules back in the Renaissance were way
different than the rules today. During the Renaissance, the game was commonly played between two
streets, 27 men played on each side, and there were no strict rules or penalties. These rules impacted
today's in many different ways. Today, a field is 100 yards long and 60 yards wide. There are only
11 players on each team, and there are many strict rules. If it were not for the Renaissance period,
Soccer would have never evolved into the great sport that many people love today. Many people
enjoyed this sport during the Renaissance, which led to the popularity of the sport today. "Soccer is
probably the most popular sport in the world, though it is most popular in European, African, and
Latin American nations" ("Soccer"). Just like soccer, another sport that greatly influenced the
modern day was Lawn Bowling. Lawn Bowling, also known as Bowls, influenced today's modern
sport called Bocce Ball. Bowls originated from the Romans and "Descended from the universal
pastime of throwing rocks or pebbles at targets on the ground" (Leibs 73). By the beginning of the
Renaissance, this sport was popular among all classes of society. Some popular equipment that was
used in the game was weighted balls, the jack, and the Trigg. Each player had four wooden balls,

Physics Of Kicking A Soccer Ball
The Physics of Kicking a Soccer Ball Alexander Trifu Physics 1000 Professor Terry Arnio Friday,
February 19, 2016 Introduction Soccer is the most prominent game on the planet. Soccer players all
work hard to stay as fit as possible and constantly train to enhance their skill. A large portion of
players don 't consider the scientific concept of this amazing sport and the soccer ball itself. I
inquired about the material science of soccer and found some exceptionally fascinating truths that all
soccer players would do well to learn. The themes that I investigated are: What happens when
kicking a soccer ball Does size/weight matter when striking a ball. How a strong step follow through
improves your kick. How soccer players curl and bend a ball and the physics involved. I chose to
investigate the soccer ball because since a young boy soccer has been my obsession and favourite
hobby. I also chose it since I was very intrigued on how to apply scientific methodology to enhance
my kicking ability. What Happens When You Kick a Soccer Ball When you kick a soccer ball,
numerous things occur. The most important is the motion of your leg and the active (or
"development") vitality into the ball. Formula: KE  mv2 In this formula the active vitality
breaks even with one portion of the mass of your leg multi– utilized by the speed of your leg, as it
hits the ball, squared. Something else that happens when you kick the ball is that the ball disfigures.

How Does Temperature Affect The Height Of Basketball
Based on the surface a basketball collides with, it does affect the height of the bounce of the
basketball when dropped from one meter. In this case the surfaces that we investigated were a table
top, the classroom floor, grass, pavement, and dirt. The average height of bounces for each of the
surfaces that were tested was the table top with 60 cm, the classroom floor with 66.4 cm, the grass
with 63 cm, the pavement with 68.8 cm, and the dirt with 71.4 cm. The type of surface the
basketball was bounced on affected its height because when a basketball bounces off of a surface,
some of its energy is absorbed by that surface. More energy is absorbed by some surfaces more than
others. A soft surface, such as the table top, absorbs more energy when

Basketball Vs Football Vs Basketball
"Track & Field vs Football, Baseball & Basketball" Sports are one of the most popular
extracurricular activities among high school students and even adults that choose to professionalize
their sport. Each sport has its share of disadvantages that all help in contributing to one particular
sport truly being the best to take part in. Track and field is easily the best sport for anyone to choose
to participate in. Track and field is a sport in which various competitive athletic events take place
that establish the skills of running, sprinting, jumping and throwing on a running track and an
adjacent field. Track and Field favors a wide range of body types, has a lightweight uniform and is
the safest in contrast to football, baseball and basketball, which makes it the most idealistic of the
sports. Track and field is a sport most well known for its teamwork. The sport's teamwork is
emphasized and strengthened through its diversity. Track is abundant in diversity due to the fact that
there is a variety of events to participate in as opposed to playing the same game as everybody else
like in football, baseball and basketball. For example, the object of football is to get the ball to the
other end; the object of baseball is to run around a diamond before someones throws a ball home.
Lastly, the main concept of basketball, much like football, is to dribble the ball to the other end of
the court. Track and field is also much safer than football, baseball and track. There is little

Imagery And Themes In 'Juggler' By Richard Wilbur
Have you ever seen a juggler? Jugglers can be found at carnivals and circuses and it is their job to
entertain and impress people with their balancing skills. Many people enjoy watching going to these
events and witnessing the phenomenal gift, including the juggler. In Richard Wilbur's poem
"Juggler" literary devices such as figurative language, vivid imagery and diction are used to depict
the speaker's amazement and admiration towards the juggler and the juggler and his remarkable
expertise as someone who brings joy to people. In the first stanza Wilbur uses personification,
diction and tone to portray the juggler as someone who gives the ball a meaning. In addition, the
speaker's interest in the juggler is revealed. For example, in the passage, it states, "A ball will
bounce, but less and less. It's not / A light–hearted thing, resents its own resilience." (Lines 1–2) In
this quote the speaker uses personification to reveal that the ball is not bouncing in a cheerful and
joyous way. Instead the ball "resents its own resilience". The speaker emphasizes the word "resents",
evoking in the readers a sense of solemnity and seriousness. Furthermore, by describing that the ball
bounces, but eventually comes back down the speaker makes a comparison to life and how there
will always be highs and lows.
Moreover, the speaker's admiration for the juggler is present when the speaker states, "It takes a
sky–blue juggler with five red balls..." (Line 6) Astonished, the speaker

Reflection On Team Work
This essay will reflect on my experience during an activity which required team work and
leadership. I will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support my structure and to help
me reflect further into my experience. This activity was carried out in Todd's Leap (an outdoor
activity centre); my team and I were required to pass a golf ball through pipes across 40m to a
bucket at the end with a time limit of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each
person had a 1m pipe. The team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall
through without falling to the floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This activity was
made competitive as we were competing against another team who were carrying out the same
activity.
As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were
communicating effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team dropping the ball
numerous amount of times. The opposing team had went into the lead as they had got the hang of
where they had to place their pipes and therefore had potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I
noticed a few minutes before the time ran out that my team where not holding their pipes at the
correct height resulting in the ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re–
evaluated the situation and quickly improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls
being potted. Unfortunately by the time we began to catch up, it was too late and the bell rang to
indicate time up. The consequence of this was that our team came second with 7 balls while the
other team won the competition with a total of 9 balls.
At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I was quite nervous
due to the fact I did not know anyone within my group. However, I quickly started to focus on the
activity at hand and was excited to begin; considering I am an extremely competitive person. During
the experience I felt determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of
balls being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel nervous as I
was afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that

Air Pressure In Football Experiment Essay
Air pressure can indeed affect the distance that the football will travel. The data from the experiment
proved that the more air pressure, or the more inflated the ball is, then the farther the ball will travel.
When one tested the lowest air pressure, our results showed that a flat ball will not travel far at all
when thrown at a consistent speed. When one inflated the ball only halfway, it traveled significantly
farther than a fully deflated ball. Furthermore, when one inflated the ball to the regulated air
pressure of the National Football League, it travelled farther than both the fully deflated and halfway
deflated ball. The statistics also supported the hypothesis for this experiment. The averages
correlated with the distance that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a football with a pressure of 0.0 kilopascals, the average distance thrown was 3.3 meters, and
the median distance was 3.45 meters. For a pressure of 44.8 kilopascals, the average distance thrown
was 11.5 meters, and the median was 11.4 meters. The median and mean for a football with a
pressure of 89.6 kilopascals was the same, at a distance of 36.0 meters. This shows that there was
minimal error in our testing.
Also, the modes give clues to the consistency of our experiment. For the pressure of 0.0 kilopascals,
there were two modes, 2.7 meters and 3.8 meters. For 44.8 kilopascals, the mode was 11.4 meters.
For a football with a pressure of 89.6 kilopascals, two modes occurred, 36.0 meters and 38.7 meters.
This shows that the trials for testing the distance one can throw a football based on the varying
pressures were fairly consistent. Based on the range of our tests, we also found that human errors
come into play in our results. When the pressure of the football was 89.6 kilopascals, the range was
6.2 meters, so this means that the most errors occurred at this pressure. Also, the smallest range was
1.8 meters, which was when one deflated the ball completely, at 0.0 kilopascals. Therefore, this
means that there were minimal errors during these

Snowboarding Changes
It is strange that over time your view on a simple thing, such as snow can change so much over the
years. As a child, I loved snow! I loved the way it fell from the sky, falling in swirling patterns as I
ran around trying to catch one on my tongue.
It was a quite a process for my mother to put all the clothing that she thought was necessary. Once
this was done, I would run out and open the gate for the dogs, we owned five, they would stick their
nose in the snow then slingshot it towards my direction. We would continue this until I grew tired
then I would throw a tennis ball for them. I would throw the ball and watch it get buried in the snow.
Then the dogs would run in the general direction the ball was thrown and commenced digging in the

Especially when I have to walk from my apartment to my various classes. But, once again my view

the first time that I went snowboarding. I was feeling confident. because I know how to skateboard
and I thought I would be able to transition my skills fairly easily. We set out to my roommates house
to pick up his cousin and the snow gear for me. From there we went to the resort; once we got all
our gear one we walked to the bunny hill lift. It looked simple enough, all you had to do was hold on
to a rope that would pull you and the board up the hill. So I was partly strapped in my board ready to
grab on the rope. Once I grabbed on the force pulling me forward surprised me, I bent this way and
that eventually falling down. This happened two more times until I gave up and walked the rest of
the way up the hill. I like to say the bunny hill went better, but it didn't. I soon realized that my skills
as a skateboarder did not transition well. I fell many times and there were no signs of me getting
better. After we ran the bunny hill a few times my roommate took me to the intermediate sloop.
From the bottom of the hill I looked up at the steep slope and I thought I was going to die if I went

the ride even longer. I started out really well, Sliding down the hill is a ziz–zag formation. Then I

The crude humor and double entendre the commercial unveils is just obscene for the prime time
television market. The commercial begins with "the host" Denese Sinclaire a attractive brunette,
who comes onto the set of what looks like a infomercial to advertise an new Axe product. The
camera places you in the audience facing the set, in the background there is a huge Axe neon light
sign, and a island table in which a series of sport equipment is placed on. Denese introduces Monica
Blake who is played by Jaime Pressley. Monica is a former tennis champions. Already you can tell
that the commercial is going to be focused on two females, and the brand name is emphasized. As
they start introducing the fact that is hard to clean your balls, as Monica Blake holds up a soccer
ball. Denese poses a question on "how can guys clean there balls so they are more enjoyable to play
with?" This right here is a line in which can be taken out of context. Two women talking about
cleaning balls even though it has to do with sports equipment, one would wonder who cleans there

The Juggler Poem
The poem "The juggler" describes how the tricks the juggler acts out for the crowd amaze and
intrigue them. In the poem "The Juggler" by Richard Wilbur, the author uses imagery, figurative
language and tone to describe the juggler as someone who brings happiness and fun to others.
The use of imagery, figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler and reveal the
speaker's own views about the world.
In the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler's appearance and the tricks he is
accomplishing in his show. Richard says, "it takes a sky–blue juggler with five red balls...to shake
our gravity up." (lines 6–7). The author describes the juggler as being the color blue and having 5
red balls during his show. He also that it took "a sky–blue juggler... to shake our gravity up."(lines
6–7). By saying this the audience is able to get an insight into the life of the speaker; we are able to
see that not a lot of things happen in the speaker's life that make the speaker happy. Moreover,
Richard Wilbur shows the reader on of the tricks the juggler is doing. He says, " Oh, on his toe the
table is turning, the broom's Balancing up on his nose, and the plate whirls. On the tip of the
broom!" (lines 9–21). We can see the juggler as he is performing his great trick and how the crowd
is happy and amazed at his trick when the author says, " Damn, what a show,we cry..." ( line 21).
Having the crowd cheer at the juggler completes his trick of the balancing act showed that

Descriptive Essay On A Basketball Game
Score! "Lee County takes another point in the volleyball tournament" says the announcer. The team
starts to fall apart as we lose our game towards Lee County High School home of the Lady Trojans.
The score is 24–14 as we fall behind. While i'm sitting on the bench waiting to sub in with my other
teammate I began to feel nervous. What if I mess up the game for everyone. "7 for 40 you may go."
says the Ref. I start to play with my hands which is a sign of me getting nervous about something.
All the players in Lee County are very serious and aggressive, which is a good thing just not to the
extent they are. The whistle begins to blow for the girl on the other team to serve the ball. Right
when she hits the ball I noticed the ball was heading straight towards me "Mine mine mine!" I said.
My arms extended out into the playing position and I passed the ball to Nicky which is our setter.
The setter on the team has a hard position because they constantly hear us call for the setter to set us
a ball to hit and they have to be able to get to the ball to receive a second hit. Unfortunately Lee
County got the winning point to this game but the next time we play them we will have the winning
point. Once we returned to the high school my mom was waiting on me in the car. "How was the
game? Did you win?" she asked me. The more I thought about the game it upsetted me even more.
"Well we lost." I replied. The whole ride home was silent except the sound of the radio talking about

Example Of Observation Of Basketball
For my second observation I went back to my elementary school from when I was younger and
observed a second grade physical education class and their teacher Mrs. McFarland. It was a rainy
day so the lesson was held in the cafeteria. I observed Mrs. McFarland teach the first lesson of
basketball to her class, before class she told me that this would be the first lesson of a 6 part lesson.
When the students walked into the cafeteria they immediately sat down in their assigned spots on
the floor, Mrs. McFarland stood up at the front of the room by the stage area and all the students.
When all the students were seated Mrs. McFarland gave a very brief explanation on what the
students would be doing that day and then they started with a warm up. During the warm up the
students started out galloping around the room to music and when the music stop she would shout of
jumping jacks and the students would do jumping jacks until the music came back on. They did this
warm up for about 5 minutes and then went back to their spots and sat down. Mrs. McFarland went
back to the front of the cafeteria and began to talk to the students about what they would be doing.
She gave a demonstration of the triple threat position and then asked the students some questions
about what they saw her just do. Next, she had the children grab their our balls and come back to
their spot so that they could practice some ball handling drills. They used their finger tips to ping
pong the ball from hand to hand,

Is Practice A High Tempo Offense?
Practice is a very up tempo time for this team as Coach Morris likes to run a high tempo offense, so
practice was just that. No body not even the managers could walk during practice. Another
responsibility we had as an equipment staff was setting up the locker room before games. We would
have to arrive at the facility five hours before kickoff to start this process. We would put out the
players game loops, which contained their game day clothes. We would put out there pants and put
their jerseys on their pads. After we did that me and one of the assistants would go out to the field
and set up the coach communication system for the game. We would check all the coaches' headsets
to make sure that they could hear each other and could talk properly through them. We would check
both their A and B channels to make sure they could communicate with their assistants in the booth
during the games. This is also and important responsibility that I had and something that I can take
to a job at the next level. Not many people have the experience of setting up and knowing how the
Coach Comm operates. After we finished with the Coach Comm we usually had an extra hour to set
up any remaining things before the players arrived. After the players arrived I would help Matt
Davis warm up on the field. Then the team would come out together and I was with the quarterbacks
again. Helping them run through their warm ups. After all the position drills were over I had to spot
the ball for the team

Alpha Program Research Paper
The Revamping of the Alpha Program
As a happy and loyal member of Lifetime Fitness, I want what is best for the club and its future in
Centennial, Denver. For the most part, Lifetime Fitness has a section for almost every class it has.
For yoga, they have a yoga studio. For a cycle class, they have the cycle studio. But for the Alpha
program, they do not have a section. The Alpha program is a functional, multi joint movement based
workout that requires pull up bars, barbells, rings, ropes, and plenty of room to do these activities.
Right now, there is an Alpha program but nowhere to do it. The place where they are currently
conducting the Alpha program is upstairs where everyone else is working out. There is not a specific
location. Not to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But as I previously stated, since Lifetime Fitness has room for all of its programs and classes
currently it has nowhere else to put the Alpha program. Not only that but racquet ball is currently
free for all members and the Alpha program is not. The repercussions of losing the last two racquet
ball courts might be losing a couple members. But you will gain more revenue from the members
that will pay to be a part of the Alpha program. On top of that functional fitness such as CrossFit and
the Alpha program are the fastest growing fitness trends at the moment: if Lifetime Fitness does not
get on this bus now, they might be left in the dust.
By moving the Alpha program to the last two racquet ball courts Lifetime Fitness has everything to
gain. It will take the current problems with the program and terminate all of them. It will give the
right amount space and the proper equipment for the members and the coaches to excel. Plus, I have
seen this work first hand in Japan. This will help bring awareness to the program, which in return
will gain the program more members. The downside is that it will take away from the racquet ball
players but what you lose there you will gain in revenue from the new and improved Alpha

How Children Can Prevent Accidents From Happening?
When kids are finally out for summer break, the season kicks in with children enjoying outdoor
activities. However, kids' playing in the street is a problem in Horizon, because kids' hearing is not
as well developed as adults, parents do not take care of their kids who are playing outside and
children do not notice things at the corner of their eyes as an adult does. Children are easily
distracted and tend to focus on one task at a time, ignoring other thing happening around them. To
solve this problem, I will buy a sign that says "Slow, children playing". This will help drivers be
aware that children are playing and that they need to drive slow, which will prevent accidents from
happening (Elliot). My proposal is to meet with all my neighbors and see if they would be able to
help me by taking turns doing something that is similar to what a cross guard does. Instead of
crossing the kids like cross guards do, using a stop sign, we will stop approaching cars until all kids
playing in the street are out of the way and in a safe place. Once I have spoken to my neighbors I
will put together a list on how long they want to stay in charge of this position.
For one thing, kids playing on the street is a problem in Horizon because kid 's hearing is not as well
developed as adults, which may cause them to have problems working out the direction of car
sounds (It 's not Child 's Play). An example of this would be when the kids cross the road. They

Passive Ball Sorter
1. The design objective is to construct a passive ball sorter in groups of two people that will sort
hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into separate bins.
2. The goal for the passive ball sorter is to sort hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into
separate bins. There is a total of seven balls that need to be sorted correctly to receive the points in
that category. The balls will be released from a tube at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. The
constraints of the passive ball sorter are the following: no electric motors or gas engine, no
electronics of any type, made from reasonable household recycled materials only, should fit inside a
1ft x 1ft x 2ft box, and maintain purchases below $5 for supplies.
3. I began my research for information about passive ball sorters on YouTube. I came across
tutorials on how to build such a passive ball sorter made from recycled materials found around the
home. I saw videos where different techniques such as bounce and roll were demonstrated. One
example had the balls bounce off rubber bands into separate bins. The other example had the balls
roll down cardboard paths which would separate the balls into separate bins. These two ideas were a

Basketball Temperature Lab Report
The experiment had four different temperature 12 ̊, 51 ̊, 75 ̊, 111 ̊. In the experiment it was about
how temperature effects the air pressure of a basketball. The one thing that would change the
experiment is recording the bounce because participants had to get the bounce and the measurement.
The highest bounce was the hot ball that was 111 ̊it bounce high. The lowest bounce was the frozen
ball that was 12 ̊ because it barely bounced.
Introduction
Many athletes use basketballs, soccer balls, and volley balls to play their sports. The balls need to
have the right temperature and air pressure inside in order to work best. When a ball drops gravity

If the ball was heated the air pressure within it increased. The ball felt more inflated. The increased
air pressure resulting in a higher bounce. Different types of inflatable and non–inflatable could be
used in this experiment to see if the results were comparable to the basketball. Different surfaces
could also be tested. Further research could benefit athletes as they could expect more consistent
performance in sports balls. The research could be expanded to improve the quality–reliability,
safety and performance of vehicle tires as well. The next problem addressed could be whether
different surfaces could affect the rebound of a ball or the performance of a tire. More research in
this question could result in better athletic performance indoors and out. It could provide valuable
information for manufacturers of sports equipment. Vehicle tires and other devises that require a

"I was running" a famous line in the movie Forrest Gump mad by Tom Hanks, this is the mindset

which is muscular endurance. In the game of basketball, there are four quarters, many time during

Intensity which both need in the sport of basketball. High–Intensity endurance much greater in the
game of basketball due to the fact that it uses high power movement repetitively when playing the
game. While low endurance cardio is often overlooked when the final seconds of the game is on the

Sports : Sports And Sports
There are six sports that I chose to research. They consist of; volleyball, hockey, tennis, golf,
football, and basketball. I wlll be taking a close look at several different things. One thing will be
where the sports are played. Another thing will be the equipment requirements for each sport and the
cost to play.
Volleyball, hockey, tennis, golf, football, and basketball can all be categorized into two dissimilar
categories such as, team and individual. Volleyball, basketball, football, and hockey are known as
team sports. Golf and tennis are known as individual sports. Team sports are where you play with
teammates. Individual sports are where you play by yourself. Volleyball has six players on the court
and is played by two teams with a dividing net. The object of the game is to hit the ball over the next
and not let the other team return it. Three hits are given to each team so they can return the ball.
Hockey is made up of two teams that have six players each. In an attempt to score points, five of the
players skate around the rink. The object of the game is to score more points than the other team by
passing the puck through the other teams goal. Every goal you make is worth one point. Tennis
consists of games, sets, and matches. In order to win, you must win 6 games to win a set. If you
want to win a match, you must win 2 out of the 3 sets at–least. The scoring goes as following; 0
(love), 15, 30, 40. If your opponent has 30 or less, and you have earned 40, then

Thankful for Secret Santa

confusing and terrifying for them at first, they have since adjusted and are now experiencing the
tensions of being trapped in a hotel of moderate size with friends and enemies alike. Winter has

trapped in such a strange place. Or maybe it will just screw with their fragile minds. Enjoy.)
Emmia really wished, on occasion, that other people could be as imaginative as herself. True, that
might sound rather conceited, but take Jason, for instance. Since their unexpected and jarring

he wanted to be near enough so they could spend time together regularly. But now something about

The Importance Of Catching A Girl's Lacrosse
Girls lacrosse isn't as easy as it looks. Without the right training and and equipment you can get

lacrosse started in 1890 and was given its name by french settlers. In 1933, girl's lacrosse was
restricted with rules that limits stick contact, prohibits body contact, and requires protective
equipment. In order to play girl's lacrosse you should know 3 basic techniques, picking up ground
balls, throwing/catching, and cradling. Ground balls are simple to pick up but requires a lot of effort

Catching a lacrosse ball isn't hard as long as whoever is throwing it to you has good aim and doesn't
hit your face. When catching a lacrosse ball you want to make sure that your right and left hand are
in the same position as picking up ground balls. Your lacrosse stick has to be towards your right and
the back of your lacrosse stick has to be facing you so that the opening is facing forward. You want
to have your lacrosse stick bent forward so that the person knows you're ready to catch the ball.
Always be sure that when someone is throwing the ball towards you, your lacrosse stick moves
towards whatever direction the ball is heading towards. For finalization, the ball can be felt when
you are holding your lacrosse stick. You want to get your hands into the same position you were in
for catching, make sure that your right foot is forward and bent, also that the bottom of your lacrosse
stick is in front of your body and the head of the stick is behind your head but to the right. Now you
are able to just throw the ball, but when you do it make sure that the ball is towards the center in

Medicine Ball Exercise Aid Essay
Exercise Aid: Medicine Ball A medicine ball is a weighted ball about the size of a basketball; they
weigh anywhere from 2 – 30 pounds. They are are made with an easy to grip material and can be
used to add weight to any given exercise. A medicine ball can help improve muscular strength or
endurance, as well as core strength. For this product, you do not need a particular brand, you can
buy them almost anywhere (Scheels, Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart, etc.). The medicine balls start
out at about $20 per ball (the price increases as the weight of the ball increases). Price also varies

examples, medicine balls can be used for a wide variety of different exercises. Depending on the
type of exercise you do will determine which muscles group it is benefiting. A few general benefits
include: helps with developing core muscles (can can concentrate on many core muscles at one

Materialized Soccer Ball Research
PACE SPEECH
I have always wanted to know if the type of soccer ball I use in my soccer games will help me
improve in my skills. Do you think professionals check and do research on the type of soccer ball
they use? Do you think using two different materialized soccer balls effect the distance the ball
travels when a force is applied to it? Scoring a goal in a soccer game is a difficult thing to do, but
what if you know what the material of a soccer ball is and how helpful it could be. Well the material
used on a soccer ball may be more responsive off the foot than other types of material. If you go to
score a goal from a further distance and you have the ball that is very responsive then it'll go straight
to the back of the net. If I test two different types of materialized soccer balls to see which ball will
travel the furthest, then ball, PU (Polyurethane) will travel the greater distance, because this type of

Altius was losing market share due to several reasons a few of which have been mentioned below:
The number of golfers in the due course has fallen and new players are more price sensitive and the
competitors are taking advantage of this. The price of premium golf of the competitors like Primiera

Under the demographic variable, the group's age and income are favourable for implementing the
Elevate strategy. As the case mentions, if Altius doesn't do anything, they will be stagnated in a
maturing market where their core customer is ageing. So they have to come up with a new strategy
that involves participation in the game by the children, recreational players and the youths alike.
Also, USGA initiated a program that focused on making the game easier and more fun. Because of
these factors, children and youths can have inclination towards the game and Altius can seize the
market opportunity in this segment. As Altius's premium product primarily targeted on the high–
income group people, by implementing Elevate, they will be able to cover the other lower and
middle income group people as well. This in turn will enhance the sales by covering a large group of
people.
The current product line imposes a certain limitation on the psychographic variable in a sense that
only ambitious personalities, e.g. professional golfers made use of the premium products. Going for

RESPONDING OR DEPENDENT VARIABLE:
The height that the ball bounces is the dependent variable. This is because the height that the ball
bounces depends on the surface on which I am bouncing the ball from. It's being measure by
measuring tape when we bounce the ball.
CONSTANTS:
The things that will be staying the same in the experiment are...
The air pressure in the basketball and tennis ball.
The height in which the balls are dropped.
The basketball and the tennis ball.
CONTROL:
My main control group would be when I judge the bounce of the balls on the payment to all the
other environments I bounced the balls on.

Descriptive Essay On Basketball
Entering the gym resonates an immediate feeling of dedication. Double glass doors open, making an
odd creak that only those two doors are able to make. The sound of these doors opening brings a
chill down the spine. Once the gym is entered, there is a large brown trashcan that hides in the
corner, like a child that has done something wrong and is hiding from his or her parent. Its orange
bag loves to poke out past the can itself like a baby kangaroos head from its mothers' pouch. Two

What Is The Figurative Language In The Juggler By Richard...
In Richard Wilbur's Juggler, the speaker depicts a juggler who is entertaining both men and women
with his elegant prowess and practice of juggling balls and other various objects. The speaker
describes the juggler as nothing more than a simpleton, entertaining those who watch his display and
retreating when he is tired or done. This simple but deft actions of the juggler reveals the simplicity
of the speaker, who like the others, is amazed. The juggler's delicate and precise gestures and
movements highlight the smooth and soft aspects of a calm life. The speaker uses elements such as
imagery and figurative language to reveal the complex but simple display of the juggler's practice
and the ease that it releases as it gives us a respite from our stressful, daily lives. In the poem, the
speaker uses figurative language to reveal and portray that the objects that the juggler juggles have a
sense or life of their own and how their actions make the show even more impressive on the
juggler's end. Whether it's the ball's' "own resilience" as it bounces less and less or "wheel on his
wheeling hands", the figurative language describes an inanimate object that is subject to the laws of
nature and forces such as gravity which is shown by the line "falling is what it loves." However,
under the hands of the juggler, it's as if the juggler has changed the ball's natural tendencies to his
own, becoming the ball's own force that it has to follow. The juggler appears to be as an omnipotent

Reach The Bag Game Analysis

  • 1. Reach The Bag Game Analysis My group has decided to create a low organization game. This game is called "Reach the Bag". In this game there will be 4 teams and 2 teams will be playing on the court at once. The gym will be divided in half and both teams will have their own side. Both teams will have flags around their waist. At the back of each side there will be 4 bean bags that will be spread out in a designated spot which will be shown by a few pylons. This area will be called the "Safety Zone". These bean bags are the objects that the opposite team is trying to get to the middle. In order to get these bean bags, a teammate has to run to the opposite side without getting their flag ripped off. If your flag is ripped off, the player must get their flag and go back to ... • 3. What Is My Greatest Accomplishments From the first taste of accomplishment we go on to set new goals, and the goals we set aren't only for the accomplishments and accolades that come with them– but most importantly for self– contention to be the best we can be, to be great. Well my first taste of accomplishment came from an orange sphere and a hoop as a child. On my 5th birthday, my old man brought home a basketball hoop, not knowing what it was, I was intrigued at first sight. Looking back, as an avid sports lover now, I can tell you that whether it had been a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, lacrosse ball, football, a punching bag, a pool, or a track, the first taste of accomplishment comes from the first pass, shot, goal, touchdown, hit, run, or leap, and from there you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We lead through the first half of play 35–25, I had only scored 5 points but my team was winning and that was most important. We found ourselves in the fourth quarter up by two points, with 1min 30seconds to go I had 20 of our team's points. Norristown was on a role scoring 10 unanswered points to put themselves back in the game. Our coach called a time out with one minute left. The plan was to get me the ball, for an open shot, coach drew up the play and we tried to carry it out. Our plan didn't fall through and Norristown got the defensive rebound, going down the court to score 2 points on a toughly contested mid–range shot. It was our ball with 35 seconds on the clock. We tried to chew the clock and get a good shot off, and we did just that. I scored the record breaking basket with 7 seconds left. Norristown had the ball down two with very little time on the clock. We knew we just needed one stop. One stop and we'd become state champions forever. Norristown inbounded the ball and drove down court, we played them tight trying not to give up a three pointer. No points we we're champions, 2pts would tie it and take us to overtime, 3points... well, 3pts would end our season, and we'd come up short on being the best. Only two seconds to go, the ball went up, off a deep three pointer. The hearts under every jersey, shirt and tie, and striped polo stopped for those two seconds. It seemed as if the ball was like a rain drop frozen in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Reflective Essay On Outdoor Education One of the great aspects of Jesse Remington High School is the Outdoor Education program. Whether it be going hiking, going to Moore Park, or going to the tennis court, everyone always has plenty of fun and gets challenged in different ways. One of the events this semester that I really enjoyed and valued from would the the Fall Mountain Retreat Hike. The Fall Mountain Retreat Hike that I went on this year was in Vermont. Mr. Philbrick led the way on the very first Vermont hike for this retreat. Although it was a mild hike, we still had some challenges faced. At certain points, there were boulders in our way, so we crunched down to hoist ourselves up through them. Once we finally made it to the top, there was a beautiful cabin with a phenomenal view. Not only that, however, but there was a water tower! Most of us climbed approximately forty feet up and got a better view than ever imagined. On this hike, I learned an amazing amount of knowledge about myself that I did not know before. One would be that I am very squeamish when it comes to walking through spider webs! But more serious than that, I learned that taking a risk and not letting my fears control me will benefit me in the long run. I am terrified of heights, but with a bit of a nudge from others, I climbed the forty foot tower. Despite being nervous on the way up, when I got to the top, it was as if I I had no fear at all. The view was overwhelmingly breathtaking! One last factor that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Altius Golf Essay A. Current Situation What role has Altius Golf's choice of channels of distributions played in its loss of market share? What other factors have contributed to its loss of market share? What will happen if Altius maintains the status quo? Altius Golf's choices in its channels of distribution have played a major role in its loss of market share. There are two distribution channels when it comes to the golf market, on–course and off– course, which account for 40% and 60% of unit sales respectively which result in 45% and 55% in dollar sales respectively. Altius' number one selling product the Victor TX retailing at nearly $50 per pack accounts for 70% of its total golf ball sales. Altius sells the Victor TX in both on–course and off–course ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... D. Competitive Reaction What are the risks to the Victor brand that could be bought about by the launch of Elevate? How can Altius Golf use channels of distribution to help manage these risks? How else can it do to manage these risks? There are a significant amount of risks associated with launching Elevate. It is very important to take all of these risks into account before making a final decision. A risk that every company faces when introducing a new product into a preexisting product line is cannibalization. By introducing Elevate Altius may in fact cannibalize the sales of its other golf balls. If the amount of lost profit from Victor and Victor TX are higher than the profit gained from the introduction of Elevate than Altius is losing money and introducing Elevate was a mistake. Other risks include damaging their brand. Ferrari an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer for the rich and famous. If Ferrari started coming out with economy cars for the general public its current customer base would evaporate how can you claim to be a luxury brand and then start producing non luxury products. This is the concern of Altius executives, some believe that as they are an expensive golf ball brand that they are a luxury brand of sorts whose brand image could be damaged by introducing a non luxury product in terms of the Elevate golf ball. This however in my opinion this is a delusion Altius is not a luxury brand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Observing People's Behavior at a Fitness Center Lets start by understanding that cultures are a melting pot of people's beliefs, language, behaviors, values, material objects, and norms. Norms are written and non–written "expectations of behavior" that govern a certain location, place, or culture (26). These norms also vary from culture to culture meaning what is a norm in the U.S may not be a norm in India. For example, a norm in America would be tipping a waiter after a meal. Another would be acknowledging someone as you walk past him or her, typically done at work or in a public place. In all, norms are folkways, mores, taboos, and written laws that are an established standard of one's behavior. For this assignment, I decided to observe a fitness center (gym) setting and break ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon arrival, I estimated about 15–20 personal scattered throughout the room on various body equipment. I noticed that I was the youngest person there; everyone else (by the looks) was ranging from late 20's to early 50's. The first significant aspect that I always realize is that there are more males than females, typically a 4:1 ratio. The diversity of race/ethnicity was noticeable but not really a concern towards the atmosphere of the gym. Before I started the observations I did run on the treadmill so that the gym visit wasn't a total waste. Afterwards, my observation was done in the corner with the mats, while I stretched for twenty–five minutes. To begin, only one person that was in the gym when I first arrived left before the observation began. Every person, excluding the one trainer that was present, had earphones in. Listening to music while working out is typically a custom inside the gym. There were a few patrons that stayed on certain equipment the entire time they were there. Unless someone is asking about equipment or advice, there is little to no conversation going on. One unique thing I realized is that there is no eye contact made between patrons unless you are working out together or asking questions. For example, when I would catch someone's eyes they immediately looked away (this also happened between other members as well). If I were to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Personal Narrative: Phoenixville It was the last game of the season. We had won every single game except for one. Our team had tied with Phoenixville, and today was the day that we would beat Phoenixville. Almost every day of the week we would show up for practice for 2 hours, and we have improved by a lot. Our game was in Phoenixville at the school, and the game was away. It was not the best day to play a game, but our team was ready. Clouds filled the sky making it look like it was going to rain. The ground was a little muddy from rained yesterday, and the sky was turning a shade of grey. "You got this. Don't give up no matter how tough the game gets. You're ready."My coach said to me. They stood up and cheered as teammates from her team gathered around her patting her on the back. They made their way to the middle of the field giving the ball to my team. " It's ok Amanda! You got this!" My coach had said. The ref blew her whistle indicating we can start. Maddie passed the ball to raina who passed it to maggie, making their way up the field towards the other goal. One of the girls from the other team stole the ball and came at me. " Come on! Come on!" The parents from the other team screamed. I got really nervous, I knew my team was ready, they just had to push their limits. Everyone looked so tired on my team, and some on the other. But the one girl with the ball did not slow down. I remember the last game we tied with them. The same girl that was coming at me now was the girl who shot the last goal. She always shot in the right corner, but she kept switching it when she scored that last goal. It happened the last 30 seconds of that game, and when she shot it last game, I knew I couldn't let that happen again. " 30 seconds!" The ref ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But many fans ask themselves, "Did they really win fair and square?" Many believe that the 2014–15 NFL Patriots used deflated footballs to provide an advantage. The team had their footballs well under the NFL standard by at least a pound. The whole event became known as Deflategate. Many started to wonder if it really did give the team an edge. The controversial belief that an underinflated football really does provide an advantage has been a hot debate in the sports world. Khan Academy explains, "The second law of motion states that force on an object is equal to the mass of the object multiplied by its acceleration. If we apply this law to a football, it tells us that the amount that the ball accelerates depends on the force applied by the quarterback and the mass of the ball." ("Football Physics"). The less mass a ball has the further it's potential to travel is. The lighter the ball is, the faster and further the ball can move. Additionally, Khan Academy writes, "The second law also tells us that acceleration of the football also depends on the mass of the football. If the player is throwing an extra heavy football, the acceleration of the football would decrease compared to a lighter football that is thrown with the same force." ("Football Physics"). This quote explains that the lighter a ball is, the farther a ball can be thrown. Also, the farthest a ball can be thrown depends on the amount of force the person throwing applies to the ball. ("Football Physics"). When a ball is lighter due to less air pressure, the quarterback will be able to throw it further. The less mass makes the ball lighter, and this will allow the wind to be able to carry the ball ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Effect Of Air Pressure In Basketball ABSTRACT The air pressure inside a basketball has the biggest affect on bounce. The purpose of conducting this experiment is to determine if a basketball with a greater air pressure (psi) inside the basketball will bounce higher. The hypothesis for this experiment is 'If air pressure is decreased inside the basketball, then the bounce height will decrease as well'. I have participated in numerous inflatable ball sport activities and from personal experience this has enabled me to make an opinion on the results of the experiment, which is expressed in the hypothesis. A video camera was set up on a tripod, this was the main means of collecting the information by recording the bounce of the basketball after being released from a height of 2.7 meters in front of a measuring stick. The experiment was commenced with the basketball inflated to 12 psi and then the psi was decreased by one unit until the basket ball was measuring zero psi. It was essential that at each level of psi the basketball was dropped three times to gather an average resulting in more reliable data. When conducting this experiment the findings revealed the hypothesis was proven correct. When the basketball had the greatest amount of psi (12) it bounced the highest with a average height of 186.7cm. When the basketball had the least amount of psi (zero) it bounced the lowest height of 16.7cm. The results of this experiment provide valuable information to basketball players as it identifies that having the right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Why Did A Golf Ball Grow So High Essay Discussion: From the information gathered from graph 1, we can see that each of the ball's bounce heights did not vary significantly. Unexpectedly, the golf ball bounced the highest, smashing the tennis ball's results. While each of the balls shared similarity in terms of their bounce height, the golf ball was the only ball which bounced considerably higher than the others. The table tennis ball followed the tennis ball, but the ball which achieved the least height was the baseball. There was a significant difference between the bounce heights of the baseball and the golf ball I believe that the reason of why the golf ball bounced so high was because of the material from which it is made out of. As the golf ball hit the ground, its molecules ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could have been improved if a clamp was used to hold the ball on the 1 meter mark, and if the clamp was slightly lower or higher, at least all the balls would be dropped at the same height. To ensure that the ruler is level to achieve an accurate result, a spirit level could be used. Even though it may not make a difference when on a flat surface, it is always worth checking if you would like your results to be as accurate as possible. Conclusion: The results from this experiment show that the elasticity of a ball does not affect its bounce height. The golf ball was not as elastic as the tennis ball, but its results were much higher than that of the tennis ball. The results in this experiment tell us that while elasticity does have some affect on the bounce height of the ball, another variable is altering their bounce height. • 21. Sports of the Renaissance Essay James Naismith, creator of basketball, used a soccer ball as the first basketball. The game of soccer was originally played with an inflated animal bladder that was surrounded with leather (Leibs 67). Just as in every sport, as time evolves, so do the materials being played with. The materials begin becoming more durable, controllable, and affordable. During the Renaissance period, many sports were evolved and took a turn for the better. Although many sports were introduced during the Renaissance period; football, lawn bowling, and tennis were the three main sports that influenced today's time period the most. As time evolved, the ball was eventually made out of a leather material. With this leather material, the ball became more durable and controllable. The rules back in the Renaissance were way different than the rules today. During the Renaissance, the game was commonly played between two streets, 27 men played on each side, and there were no strict rules or penalties. These rules impacted today's in many different ways. Today, a field is 100 yards long and 60 yards wide. There are only 11 players on each team, and there are many strict rules. If it were not for the Renaissance period, Soccer would have never evolved into the great sport that many people love today. Many people enjoyed this sport during the Renaissance, which led to the popularity of the sport today. "Soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world, though it is most popular in European, African, and Latin American nations" ("Soccer"). Just like soccer, another sport that greatly influenced the modern day was Lawn Bowling. Lawn Bowling, also known as Bowls, influenced today's modern sport called Bocce Ball. Bowls originated from the Romans and "Descended from the universal pastime of throwing rocks or pebbles at targets on the ground" (Leibs 73). By the beginning of the Renaissance, this sport was popular among all classes of society. Some popular equipment that was used in the game was weighted balls, the jack, and the Trigg. • 23. Physics Of Kicking A Soccer Ball The Physics of Kicking a Soccer Ball Alexander Trifu Physics 1000 Professor Terry Arnio Friday, February 19, 2016 Introduction Soccer is the most prominent game on the planet. Soccer players all work hard to stay as fit as possible and constantly train to enhance their skill. A large portion of players don 't consider the scientific concept of this amazing sport and the soccer ball itself. I inquired about the material science of soccer and found some exceptionally fascinating truths that all soccer players would do well to learn. The themes that I investigated are: What happens when kicking a soccer ball Does size/weight matter when striking a ball. How a strong step follow through improves your kick. How soccer players curl and bend a ball and the physics involved. I chose to investigate the soccer ball because since a young boy soccer has been my obsession and favourite hobby. I also chose it since I was very intrigued on how to apply scientific methodology to enhance my kicking ability. What Happens When You Kick a Soccer Ball When you kick a soccer ball, numerous things occur. The most important is the motion of your leg and the active (or "development") vitality into the ball. Formula: KE  mv2 In this formula the active vitality breaks even with one portion of the mass of your leg multi– utilized by the speed of your leg, as it hits the ball, squared. Something else that happens when you kick the ball is that the ball disfigures. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. How Does Temperature Affect The Height Of Basketball Based on the surface a basketball collides with, it does affect the height of the bounce of the basketball when dropped from one meter. In this case the surfaces that we investigated were a table top, the classroom floor, grass, pavement, and dirt. The average height of bounces for each of the surfaces that were tested was the table top with 60 cm, the classroom floor with 66.4 cm, the grass with 63 cm, the pavement with 68.8 cm, and the dirt with 71.4 cm. The type of surface the basketball was bounced on affected its height because when a basketball bounces off of a surface, some of its energy is absorbed by that surface. More energy is absorbed by some surfaces more than others. A soft surface, such as the table top, absorbs more energy when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Basketball Vs Football Vs Basketball "Track & Field vs Football, Baseball & Basketball" Sports are one of the most popular extracurricular activities among high school students and even adults that choose to professionalize their sport. Each sport has its share of disadvantages that all help in contributing to one particular sport truly being the best to take part in. Track and field is easily the best sport for anyone to choose to participate in. Track and field is a sport in which various competitive athletic events take place that establish the skills of running, sprinting, jumping and throwing on a running track and an adjacent field. Track and Field favors a wide range of body types, has a lightweight uniform and is the safest in contrast to football, baseball and basketball, which makes it the most idealistic of the sports. Track and field is a sport most well known for its teamwork. The sport's teamwork is emphasized and strengthened through its diversity. Track is abundant in diversity due to the fact that there is a variety of events to participate in as opposed to playing the same game as everybody else like in football, baseball and basketball. For example, the object of football is to get the ball to the other end; the object of baseball is to run around a diamond before someones throws a ball home. Lastly, the main concept of basketball, much like football, is to dribble the ball to the other end of the court. Track and field is also much safer than football, baseball and track. • 29. Imagery And Themes In 'Juggler' By Richard Wilbur Have you ever seen a juggler? Jugglers can be found at carnivals and circuses and it is their job to entertain and impress people with their balancing skills. Many people enjoy watching going to these events and witnessing the phenomenal gift, including the juggler. In Richard Wilbur's poem "Juggler" literary devices such as figurative language, vivid imagery and diction are used to depict the speaker's amazement and admiration towards the juggler and the juggler and his remarkable expertise as someone who brings joy to people. In the first stanza Wilbur uses personification, diction and tone to portray the juggler as someone who gives the ball a meaning. In addition, the speaker's interest in the juggler is revealed. For example, in the passage, it states, "A ball will bounce, but less and less. It's not / A light–hearted thing, resents its own resilience." (Lines 1–2) In this quote the speaker uses personification to reveal that the ball is not bouncing in a cheerful and joyous way. Instead the ball "resents its own resilience". The speaker emphasizes the word "resents", evoking in the readers a sense of solemnity and seriousness. Furthermore, by describing that the ball bounces, but eventually comes back down the speaker makes a comparison to life and how there will always be highs and lows. Moreover, the speaker's admiration for the juggler is present when the speaker states, "It takes a sky–blue juggler with five red balls..." (Line 6) Astonished, the speaker ... • 31. Reflection On Team Work This essay will reflect on my experience during an activity which required team work and leadership. I will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support my structure and to help me reflect further into my experience. This activity was carried out in Todd's Leap (an outdoor activity centre); my team and I were required to pass a golf ball through pipes across 40m to a bucket at the end with a time limit of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each person had a 1m pipe. The team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall through without falling to the floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This activity was made competitive as we were competing against another team who were carrying out the same activity. As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were communicating effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team dropping the ball numerous amount of times. The opposing team had went into the lead as they had got the hang of where they had to place their pipes and therefore had potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I noticed a few minutes before the time ran out that my team where not holding their pipes at the correct height resulting in the ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re– evaluated the situation and quickly improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls being potted. Unfortunately by the time we began to catch up, it was too late and the bell rang to indicate time up. The consequence of this was that our team came second with 7 balls while the other team won the competition with a total of 9 balls. At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I was quite nervous due to the fact I did not know anyone within my group. However, I quickly started to focus on the activity at hand and was excited to begin; considering I am an extremely competitive person. During the experience I felt determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of balls being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel nervous as I was afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Air Pressure In Football Experiment Essay Air pressure can indeed affect the distance that the football will travel. The data from the experiment proved that the more air pressure, or the more inflated the ball is, then the farther the ball will travel. When one tested the lowest air pressure, our results showed that a flat ball will not travel far at all when thrown at a consistent speed. When one inflated the ball only halfway, it traveled significantly farther than a fully deflated ball. Furthermore, when one inflated the ball to the regulated air pressure of the National Football League, it travelled farther than both the fully deflated and halfway deflated ball. The statistics also supported the hypothesis for this experiment. The averages correlated with the distance that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a football with a pressure of 0.0 kilopascals, the average distance thrown was 3.3 meters, and the median distance was 3.45 meters. For a pressure of 44.8 kilopascals, the average distance thrown was 11.5 meters, and the median was 11.4 meters. The median and mean for a football with a pressure of 89.6 kilopascals was the same, at a distance of 36.0 meters. This shows that there was minimal error in our testing. Also, the modes give clues to the consistency of our experiment. For the pressure of 0.0 kilopascals, there were two modes, 2.7 meters and 3.8 meters. For 44.8 kilopascals, the mode was 11.4 meters. For a football with a pressure of 89.6 kilopascals, two modes occurred, 36.0 meters and 38.7 meters. This shows that the trials for testing the distance one can throw a football based on the varying pressures were fairly consistent. Based on the range of our tests, we also found that human errors come into play in our results. When the pressure of the football was 89.6 kilopascals, the range was 6.2 meters, so this means that the most errors occurred at this pressure. Also, the smallest range was 1.8 meters, which was when one deflated the ball completely, at 0.0 kilopascals. Therefore, this means that there were minimal errors during these ... After we ran the bunny hill a few times my roommate took me to the intermediate sloop. From the bottom of the hill I looked up at the steep slope and I thought I was going to die if I went down that hill. The anticipation was building going up the hill, because the lift kept stopping, making the ride even longer. I started out really well, Sliding down the hill is a ziz–zag formation. In the poem "The Juggler" by Richard Wilbur, the author uses imagery, figurative language and tone to describe the juggler as someone who brings happiness and fun to others. The use of imagery, figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler and reveal the speaker's own views about the world. In the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler's appearance and the tricks he is accomplishing in his show. Richard says, "it takes a sky–blue juggler with five red balls...to shake our gravity up." (lines 6–7). The author describes the juggler as being the color blue and having 5 red balls during his show. He also that it took "a sky–blue juggler... to shake our gravity up."(lines 6–7). No body not even the managers could walk during practice. Another responsibility we had as an equipment staff was setting up the locker room before games. We would have to arrive at the facility five hours before kickoff to start this process. We would put out the players game loops, which contained their game day clothes. We would put out there pants and put their jerseys on their pads. After we did that me and one of the assistants would go out to the field and set up the coach communication system for the game. • 49. How Children Can Prevent Accidents From Happening? When kids are finally out for summer break, the season kicks in with children enjoying outdoor activities. However, kids' playing in the street is a problem in Horizon, because kids' hearing is not as well developed as adults, parents do not take care of their kids who are playing outside and children do not notice things at the corner of their eyes as an adult does. Children are easily distracted and tend to focus on one task at a time, ignoring other thing happening around them. To solve this problem, I will buy a sign that says "Slow, children playing". This will help drivers be aware that children are playing and that they need to drive slow, which will prevent accidents from happening (Elliot). My proposal is to meet with all my neighbors and see if they would be able to help me by taking turns doing something that is similar to what a cross guard does. Instead of crossing the kids like cross guards do, using a stop sign, we will stop approaching cars until all kids playing in the street are out of the way and in a safe place. Once I have spoken to my neighbors I will put together a list on how long they want to stay in charge of this position. • 57. Sports : Sports And Sports There are six sports that I chose to research. They consist of; volleyball, hockey, tennis, golf, football, and basketball. I wlll be taking a close look at several different things. One thing will be where the sports are played. Another thing will be the equipment requirements for each sport and the cost to play. Volleyball, hockey, tennis, golf, football, and basketball can all be categorized into two dissimilar categories such as, team and individual. Volleyball, basketball, football, and hockey are known as team sports. Golf and tennis are known as individual sports. Team sports are where you play with teammates. Individual sports are where you play by yourself. Volleyball has six players on the court and is played by two teams with a dividing net. The object of the game is to hit the ball over the next and not let the other team return it. Three hits are given to each team so they can return the ball. Hockey is made up of two teams that have six players each. In an attempt to score points, five of the players skate around the rink. The object of the game is to score more points than the other team by passing the puck through the other teams goal. Every goal you make is worth one point. Tennis consists of games, sets, and matches. In order to win, you must win 6 games to win a set. If you want to win a match, you must win 2 out of the 3 sets at–least. The scoring goes as following; 0 (love), 15, 30, 40. If your opponent has 30 or less, and you have earned 40, then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. Thankful for Secret Santa (Emmia, David, Jason and others have been abruptly snatched from their normal lives and placed in a hotel in modern day time, completely sealed off from the outside world. Though this was all quite confusing and terrifying for them at first, they have since adjusted and are now experiencing the tensions of being trapped in a hotel of moderate size with friends and enemies alike. Winter has come around, and perhaps something or someone will start to reveal some details of why they are trapped in such a strange place. Or maybe it will just screw with their fragile minds. Enjoy.) Emmia really wished, on occasion, that other people could be as imaginative as herself. True, that might sound rather conceited, but take Jason, for instance. Since their unexpected and jarring capture, he had chosen to take the room with the adjoining door to hers, so they could visit each other without having to get an extra keycard. It had been hard enough figuring out how to even work those seemingly useless pieces of plastic. Syne had made the breakthrough in the end, much to Emmia's and everyone else's grudging thankfulness. When they had all chosen their spots to, as they thought about a month ago, take up temporary residence, Jason had stuck with her, and at first she couldn't have been happier. He was one of her last steadfast friends. It was comforting to know that he wanted to be near enough so they could spend time together regularly. But now something about his lack of variety was ... • 61. The Importance Of Catching A Girl's Lacrosse Girls lacrosse isn't as easy as it looks. Without the right training and and equipment you can get seriously injured. Lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America. Lacrosse had started in 1857, girl's lacrosse started in 1890 and was given its name by french settlers. In 1933, girl's lacrosse was restricted with rules that limits stick contact, prohibits body contact, and requires protective equipment. In order to play girl's lacrosse you should know 3 basic techniques, picking up ground balls, throwing/catching, and cradling. Ground balls are simple to pick up but requires a lot of effort at all times. Your right hand has to be at the throat of the stick, preferably a little bit above the middle and your left hand will be towards the bottom of the stick around the lower ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catching a lacrosse ball isn't hard as long as whoever is throwing it to you has good aim and doesn't hit your face. When catching a lacrosse ball you want to make sure that your right and left hand are in the same position as picking up ground balls. Your lacrosse stick has to be towards your right and the back of your lacrosse stick has to be facing you so that the opening is facing forward. You want to have your lacrosse stick bent forward so that the person knows you're ready to catch the ball. Always be sure that when someone is throwing the ball towards you, your lacrosse stick moves towards whatever direction the ball is heading towards. For finalization, the ball can be felt when you are holding your lacrosse stick. You want to get your hands into the same position you were in for catching, make sure that your right foot is forward and bent, also that the bottom of your lacrosse stick is in front of your body and the head of the stick is behind your head but to the right. Now you are able to just throw the ball, but when you do it make sure that the ball is towards the center in your net so that your throw can be as accurate as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Materialized Soccer Ball Research PACE SPEECH I have always wanted to know if the type of soccer ball I use in my soccer games will help me improve in my skills. Do you think professionals check and do research on the type of soccer ball they use? Do you think using two different materialized soccer balls effect the distance the ball travels when a force is applied to it? Scoring a goal in a soccer game is a difficult thing to do, but what if you know what the material of a soccer ball is and how helpful it could be. Well the material used on a soccer ball may be more responsive off the foot than other types of material. If you go to score a goal from a further distance and you have the ball that is very responsive then it'll go straight to the back of the net. If I test two different types of materialized soccer balls to see which ball will travel the furthest, then ball, PU (Polyurethane) will travel the greater distance, because this type of material is used more for outdoor, it's tough and adapts to a wide temperature range. This way the ball won't rip and tear apart, it will last longer than PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) material. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the case mentions, if Altius doesn't do anything, they will be stagnated in a maturing market where their core customer is ageing. So they have to come up with a new strategy that involves participation in the game by the children, recreational players and the youths alike. Also, USGA initiated a program that focused on making the game easier and more fun. Because of these factors, children and youths can have inclination towards the game and Altius can seize the market opportunity in this segment. As Altius's premium product primarily targeted on the high– income group people, by implementing Elevate, they will be able to cover the other lower and middle income group people as well. This in turn will enhance the sales by covering a large group of people. The current product line imposes a certain limitation on the psychographic variable in a sense that only ambitious personalities, e.g. professional golfers made use of the premium products. Going for elevate would remove the restriction by roping in the recreational players. Considering the behavioural segmentation variable, the consumers' preference is towards the economic product and benefits. Bringing the Elevate product will

The sound of these doors opening brings a chill down the spine. Once the gym is entered, there is a large brown trashcan that hides in the corner, like a child that has done something wrong and is hiding from his or her parent. Its orange bag loves to poke out past the can itself like a baby kangaroos head from its mothers' pouch. Two black ball holding racks lean against the wall. Each rack has three rows that hold five basketballs per row. The metallic feeling to these racks are very cold and intense to the touch. Life is a basketball, constantly bouncing up and down. All of the great basketball players used one common tool to keep life more on the upside of the metaphor, a basketball. Michael Jordan. LeBron James. Tim Duncan. • 75. What Is The Figurative Language In The Juggler By Richard... In Richard Wilbur's Juggler, the speaker depicts a juggler who is entertaining both men and women with his elegant prowess and practice of juggling balls and other various objects. The speaker describes the juggler as nothing more than a simpleton, entertaining those who watch his display and retreating when he is tired or done. This simple but deft actions of the juggler reveals the simplicity of the speaker, who like the others, is amazed. The juggler's delicate and precise gestures and movements highlight the smooth and soft aspects of a calm life. The speaker uses elements such as imagery and figurative language to reveal the complex but simple display of the juggler's practice and the ease that it releases as it gives us a respite from our stressful, daily lives. In the poem, the speaker uses figurative language to reveal and portray that the objects that the juggler juggles have a sense or life of their own and how their actions make the show even more impressive on the juggler's end. Whether it's the ball's' "own resilience" as it bounces less and less or "wheel on his wheeling hands", the figurative language describes an inanimate object that is subject to the laws of nature and forces such as gravity which is shown by the line "falling is what it loves." However, under the hands of the juggler, it's as if the juggler has changed the ball's natural tendencies to his own, becoming the ball's own force that it has to follow. The juggler appears to be as an omnipotent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
