Chalk Up Gymnastics
How to Put on and Chalk up Gymnastics Grips for the Most Effective Performance Every gymnast
has a sacred pair of grips that helps them swing the bars. If they're too loose, they'll fall off. Too
tight, their fingers will turn purple. Excess or scarce chalk will lead to a potentially disastrous event
of peeling off the bar to a landing that no one can predict. This effective process will help every
gymnast, or anyone who ever pondered how gymnasts get those "things" on their hands, learn the
crucial steps to a wonderful performance. The first thing you'll want to do is take the pair of
wristbands and two grips out of their designated grip bag. Situate one wristband on each wrist. The
wristbands should be far up enough that it covers just the base of your hand, so that the grips won't
rub and become painful. Undo the Velcro of your grips and unfold the leather hand piece. Insert your
hand through the bottom of the grip and adjust it so that it sits comfortably over the wristbands and
the leather hand piece is on the palm of your hand, with the dowel against the folds of your fingers.
Grab the Velcro strip and pull to fasten the grip securely to your wrist. Remember, you want to stay
on the bar, this step is imperative to your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Start by using the scraper to rub off all of the excess chalk on your grips. Then, take the spray bottle
and mist water onto the leather hand piece. There should not be any dry spots. Immediately pick up
the chalk block and smear it against the leather piece, and all parts of the same side of your hand
until it is thoroughly and consistently white. Make sure you get underneath the grip on the palm of
your hand as well. Do not clap or blow on your hands after you have completed this step, for the
inviolability of others. Chalk is not a convivial thing to get in the eyes or

Pros And Cons Of The AZMED Maternity Belt
Pregnancy is a wonderful thing but it does come with its own set of down sides. Some of those are
hot flashes and back pains. The AZMED Maternity Belt helps with the back pain and has a
breathable material to help you from getting overly hot. Let's look at some of the other features that
this belt has to offer.
Here are some of the pros that the AZMED Maternity Belt has to offer:
The AZMED is made from a breathable fabric to help you from getting too hot under your band.
This maternity band lifts your belly at the bottom to help relieve some of your back pressure.
This belt also helps with hip and pelvic pain when wearing this belt.
The AZMED is adjustable up to 46 inches.
This maternity belt offers gentle compression in the stomach area and makes everyday activity a

Biomimetic or Biomimicry: Nature's responses to human problems
Many different species have had to adapt to the most adverse conditions of nature, whose solutions
have been the product of biological evolution. Today our civilization faces many problems that need
sustainable solutions, as science shows us, they can be inspired by the wisdom of nature. So, instead
of racking our brains thinking about creative ways to solve them, we should find solutions in
understanding how nature has solved those same problems along the years (PMC).
There is a science called biomimetic or biomimicry that works this way. Here we have a clear
explanation of what it is:
"Biomimetics is the study of nature and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Write An Essay On Adjustable Fabric Kidnapping
In September 2008, a two–month old girl in Demorest, Georgia suffocated when she rolled into the
adjustable fabric siding of her bassinet, pressing her face into a pocket which formed near the velcro
fasteners. In January 2009, another death occurred due to the convertible "close–sleeper/bedside
sleeper" bassinets manufactured by Simplicity Inc. The six–month old girl in Fort Worth, Texas
appears to have been fatally entrapped in the bassinet bar opening created when the velcro fasteners
were not secured. The Simplicity 3–in–1 and 4–in–1 convertible bassinets, have metal bars that are
covered by an adjustable fabric flap. This fabric flap is secured by velcro fasteners, which are
supposed to be partially removed when the bassinet is turned into the bedside/close–sleeper mode. If
the velcro fasteners are not properly re–secured when the fabric flap is adjusted, or if the consumer
entirely removes the fabric flap exposing the metal bars, an infant can slip through the opening
between the lower metal bar and the mattress support and become entrapped and suffocate or
strangle. This is what happened to the two babies that died due to the ... Show more content on

This Is The Fourth Of July Analysis
Finally, it is the Fourth of July. My brother Harry and I have this tradition that we do every year.
Although it is not very phenomenal or picturesque, it is really amusing for him and I. Both of us get
our Nerf guns from our bedrooms and meet in the backyard. Wearing Velcro vests, the "bullets"
stick to us because they have Velcro on them as well. Whoever has the least amount of "bullets" on
their vest wins. It is difficult not to be engulfed by them. Bulwarks are allowed to be used during the
onslaught. Our mother says that we wreak havoc on the whole backyard but I think she is used to it
now. Harry claims that I am impregnable because I have never been beaten. He says that this is his
year to finally beat me but it is not feasible.

Observation of Children at Play and Work
Observation: Yesterday, in the morning, I was sitting on the floor, pretending that I was cooking
something on the pot as I stir. "Child A" saw what I was doing and walked towards me. "Child A,
come and see what I am cooking", I said. She took the saucepan with the lid that was on the stove,
sat down on the floor and put the saucepan down. She held on to the lid, opened it and closed it. I
handed her the spoon that I was using and I took the pot and the spatula and showed her how to stir.
"This is how we stir, "Child A", I said. She started pounding the saucepan using the spoon that I
gave her, making sounds. "Child B" heard the sound that "Child A" was making and saw what we
are doing. "Child B" was looking at the pot and the saucepan that was on the floor as she crawls
toward us. She sat on the floor beside me and opened and closed the pot twice. I opened my eyes
wide and smiled, "Wow 'Child B' you are making sounds!", I said. "Child B" looked at me and
smiled back. I gave her the spatula and assisted her hand on how to stir. I took the kettle and the
cups and put it on the floor. I sang, "This is the way we pour our drink" and pretended that I was
from the cup. "Child A" took the other cup and drank from it. "Uh– oh! Out of your mouth, "Child
A", I said. Later that day, after their lunch, "Child C" went to the dramatic area and played with the
kitchenware. I went to her and sang, "This is the way we stir our food" as I use the spoon to stir. She

How Did Penicillin Changed The Whole World
Penicillin is a widely known life saving product that kills bacteria. The medicine was made on
accident by Alexander Fleming.Little did he know, this mistake changed the whole world. To start
off, Everyone has accidents, even professionals. Most of the time, the accidents that happen are for
the worse. But, some accidents can be for the greater good. When scientists and inventors have
accidents they could get burnt in a lab or cause a fire. But, other times they make tremendous things.
Some huge inventions that changed the world are the microwave, play–doh, x–rays and many more.
Velcro was also made on accident by a swiss electrical engineer by the name of George de Mestral.
Jesse Lane says "Velcro was invented when George de Mestral noticed how certain types of burrs
would cling to his clothes and his dog's fur whenever he took him for a walk in the woods." Thus
creating velcro that is used on day to day items. In addition, penicillin is a very useful accidental ...

contained a staphylococci culture– in other words, it was chock full of bacteria– and while Fleming
had been away, the culture had also grown a tuft of yellow–green mold." And that was the beginning
revolutionary history of penicillin. Later in the paragraph the author says, "After some
experimentation, he found that the ring was bacteria free, and that the mold was a rare spore called
Penicillium notatum," Where the name penicillin comes from "which had wafted on air currents into
his lab from another floor." If he hadn't gone on vacation and left his lab a mess then penicillin

Gloves are made by two layers hand stitched together. As it says in the text at
http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball/features/tools–of–the–trade.html: Through the mid–1800s,
players still fielded the ball barehanded, which gave an advantage to the hitters. One of the first
players that used a glove was Doug Allison, a catcher for the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Gloves have
originally been made out of leather. Most players used to wear gloves on both hands to secure the
baseball so it doesn't fall out. When 1903 Came around webbed gloves for fielders became common.
If the hitter hits the ball it is in motion until a fielder picks it up (an outside force) or catches it (an
outside force). Stopping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A glove is typically worn on the non–dominant hand, so you can throw with your dominant hand for
example, a right–handed player would wear a glove on the left hand because you are supposed to
throw with your dominant hand. The baseball glove has come a long way. These days gloves are
made more carefully and delicately and more efficiently. They are also made more precisely because
every detail on the glove matters There are still many advancements to come in the age of the
baseball glove. As it says in the text at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_glove: Even today,
Easton (baseball gear company) is "experimenting with combining leather and Kevlar (used in
bulletproof vests) in a new ultra–light weight glove line". Manufacturers have created different types
of gloves to suit different types of people. Also, they have started personalizing gloves for certain
players to increase exposure on national television. Rawlings sponsors more than 49.99% of the

Rawlings with the "annual Rawlings Gold Glove Award, which has been presented to players for
fielding excellence since 1957." As

Velcro Effect Of Tiny Hooks On A Burr
Everyone uses Velcro in some way, whether it's on shoes or if it's simply just to stick two things
together. Velcro, which is inspired by burrs (a type of seed case or flower head), is a very famous
example of biomimicry. In 1941, when Swiss engineer George de Mestral was removing burrs from
his dog after a hunting trip, he decided to observe them and see how they worked. When he looked
at the burrs under a microscope, George de Mestral noticed that there are tiny hooks at the end of
each spine on a bur. These miniscule hooks are the reason why burrs stick onto things like animal
fur, clothing, and hair. The hooks catch onto anything with loops, which animal fur, clothing, and
hair all have. This one observation inspired George de Mestral

Generation Velcro, By Dorothy Woodend
In her article, "Generation Velcro", Dorothy Woodend emphasises that today's youth is ill–prepared
for the harsh realities of the world because there is "loss of knowledge" (para. 5, p. 182). Woodend
states that children are cradled and sheltered and are stripped of the opportunity to become self–
sufficient. Woodend ponders over Jane Jacob's words, in which the author discusses that "the loss of
knowledge, once vanished, is so difficult to regain" (para. 5, p. 182). Woodend uses this to suggest
that it's important for a society to safe–keep valuable skills, otherwise, the new generation will
suffer with minimal knowledge and few applicable skills when faced with calamities. Reflecting on

School Gymnastics Research Paper
If you are in the process of equipping your local school gym with materials for basic gymnastics
classes, you need to make sure that you purchase the right types of gymnastics pads for your school.
Here are the four most common types of gymnastic mats:
#1 Folding Panel Mats
If your school gym is multiple purpose, one of the best types of mats that you can purchase are
folding panel mats. These types of mats open up into either three or four panels. At the edge of each
mat there are Velcro strips that will allow you to stick the mats together and create a larger padded
space.
There are even folding mats that have Velcro strips on the top and bottom as well, so you can really

They are generally extremely thick, and very soft. As the name implies, they are for "crashing" into.
They are generally used to support beginners who are just learning a new skill. You will probably
only need one ot two crash mats, depending on the size of your program.
#3 Blocks
You only need to purchase block mats if you plan on teach the vault or the beam at your school.
Block mats are really sold and firm, and are generally used to assist students with climbing onto
either the vault or the beam. They generally contain Velcro on the sides so they can adhere to your
other mats.
#4 Beam Pads
Once again, you alone need to purchase a beam pad if you plan on teaching the balance beam at
your school. This pad goes right under a balance beam and provides your students with a soft place
to land when they dismount from the balance beam.
If your school is starting a gymnastics program, make sure you purchase the right type of mats. The
four types of mats listed above are the most common types of mats. If you are still not sure what
types of mats you need, speak to your new gymnastics coach about what equipment they need to be

Safety Advantages And Disadvantages
New product
As every parent knows, all infants and toddlers must have a child safety seat when riding in a
vehicle. Parents know the importance of car seats, but dread getting their children into them. Small
children don't like being restrained; most parents struggle daily not only with getting their children
in the car but also with seatbelts. Buckles get stuck and seat belts are buried underneath the child,
making it difficult to pull their arms through the restraint. While this is not a new product, it is a
design change for car seats that includes built in devices such as iron free magnets, hooks, or Velcro
that will facilitate the process of getting children safely into and out of their car seats without the
stress and power struggle parents often face when traveling with young children.
Product development process
While developing this design change safety has to be our number one priority. This product design
may include iron free magnets, hooks, or velcro. Some magnets contain iron and can be harmful to
children. Other magnets can be too small and if not attached properly can become a choking hazard
to the child. In order to prevent injuries, car seats will be inspected for proper placement of
instruments and iron levels in magnets. Trusted car seat companies will also test this new product in
order for them to meet safety standards.
Accidental swallowing of magnets is a growing problem for kids that parents should be aware of.
When a child swallows a magnet, there is no visual evidence of it and diagnosis can be delayed.
When magnets become attracted and pull toward each other, they can form sores on the lining of the
stomach or intestine, and in some cases, can perforate them. A large number of children in recent
years have needed surgery to remove these magnets. (Roth, M. 2012). Properly placing the products
new tools out of the child's reach, and testing out the final product for its safety can prevent
accidents and serious injuries. Creating a design with these inexpensive built in devises will allow
parents to easily get their child in and out of their seats with no problems. Once the child is removed
from their seat, these devises will allow the child's seat belt to stay open and out of

I believe my team's modification would be best for a child with cerebral palsy. The other team's

Conservation of Momentum Practical Write Up
CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM PRACTICAL WRITE UP
AIM: To investigate if momentum is conserved in two–dimensional interactions within an isolated
system.
HYPOTHESIS: Without the effects of friction the momentum will be conserved in the isolated
system. In all three experiments the momentum before the interaction will equal the momentum
after the interaction.
METHOD: An air hockey table was set up and a video camera on a tripod was placed over the air
hockey table. The camera was positioned so it was directly above the air hockey table facing
downwards. The air hockey table was turned on and two near identical pucks were placed on the
table, one at one end of the table and one in the centre. The puck at the end of the table was

This would have created friction which is regarded as an external force; therefore the pucks were no
longer in an isolated system. Another random error occurred in the first experiment where the red
puck was initially held down to prevent it from moving and released when the black puck collided
with it. Due to the person's reaction time, holding it in place may have interfered with the collision
as it was an external force and this may have impacted upon the results.
Several systematic occurred in this experiment, but the most important one would have been the fact
that the air hockey table was not completely level. This impacted upon the experiment in two ways.
In the first experiment where the red puck is initially stationary, as the table was not level it moved
around before the black puck collided with it. To overcome this the red puck had to be held in place
and as mentioned before this would have provided and external force acting upon the puck. The
unevenness of the air hockey table also meant that there was a possibility of friction acting on the
pucks while they were moving. In the third collision with the Velcro another systematic error
occurred. When the two pucks collided and stuck together they did not continue straight, instead
they rotated. This is not linear momentum but rather it is angular momentum. This is reflected in the
results as the magnitude of the initial and final momentum of the system is equal, but the

has a sister named Katia, who is also one of the dolls and, like Zana, has brown pigtails.
Kids ages 2 to 5 will have fun as they play with the Mooshka Zana doll. For added convenience and
comfort, this doll is made of a plush material that is also machine washable. The Mooshka baby is
extra soft, which makes her just right for cuddling with very young children. Her clothes are
removable for cleaning or for the fun of undressing and redressing her. The shoes and hair bow are
permanently attached, so there is no need to worry about kids losing those accessories.
Zana is a doll with an adorable face and blue eyes, and she is soft enough for both cuddles and play.
She would be a sweet and fun addition to any doll collection. Each Mooshka Tot is a huggable first
friend for the littlest kids in your life. Zana's sweet expression and colorful dress will make her a
favorite toy with which young kids will fall in love at first

Kimmerer Chapter Analysis
.The chapter in Kimmerer about becoming indigenous to place presented the concept of looking to
nature before making decisions in life. Nature in the form of plants have been efficiently existing for
much longer than humans. The man in the chapter speaks of his ancestors and how they looked to
the natural world for ingenuity and inspiration. An example from the passage is when the man's
ancestors had looked to whales for vision in the creation of a practical sea vessel shape for their
canoes (Kimmerer, 210). Whales are naturally sleek with fluid movements and it was from these
features the canoe was based. This efficient shape of whales is the result of natural selection over
many generations. It is this concept of looking to nature that

Life Cycle Assessment ( Lca )
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a technique used to quantify environmental outcomes– energy,
materials used, and released wastes– assignable to a product. It assesses the environmental impacts
of their supply chain activities as a whole. By looking at the full picture of the activities, a firm such
as Procter and Gamble (P&G) could view the environmental tradeoffs of product innovation. In
efforts to sustain competitive advantage with their popular–selling item, disposable diapers, the use
of LCA aides in making decisions for producing greener products for its customers, and to reduce
environmental footprint. The public is becoming widely concerned with the products effects on
resources and the environment. "These effects occur at every stage in a product's life cycle–from the
extraction of the raw materials from the ground through the processing, manufacturing, and
transportation phases, ending with use and disposal or recycling" (Le–van,1995, p.7,). The present
study aims to evaluate the life cycle system of disposable diapers in efforts to assign understanding
of the sustainability benefits of Life Cycle Assessment.
An LCA–measured environmental improvements analysis in Pampers® diapers reported that, "the
sourcing and production of diaper materials contribute most to the environmental indicators
evaluated, accounting for ∼84% of all non–renewable energy uses and ∼64% of global warming
potential" (Weisbrod and Hoof,2011). The sustainable development study used LCA to

Personal Narrative: My Captone Project
My capstone project was a dog walker and a wheelchair for Seely. Since the Humane Society didn't
know if she'd be able to get a prosthetic or not, my group designed two products for two situations.
The walker will help Seely learn how to use a prosthetic leg, if she gets one, and the wheelchair will
allow her to walk without her front legs. Starting this project, I had a general knowledge of the
design process that I'd used in many of my earlier projects, as well as other knowledge and skills
from specific projects. The prosthetic arm project taught me how to make a functional product on a
slim budget, as well as important aspects to consider when designing a prosthetic, such as comfort
and ease of use. From the Rube Goldberg project and the edible car challenge, I learned how to
work through problems and improvise solutions. When the mousetrap couldn't launch the marble
high enough because of the limited space, we mounted it onto a ramp. When my edible car couldn't
roll well, I used a different design, and then another design when that ... Show more content on

When putting together the initial design, my group had to consider many of the same elements my
partner and I did when designing our prosthetic arm. In both projects, we didn't want to spend too
much money, but still wanted our final result to function well. For the capstone project, durability
was also an important factor, since dogs can be hyper and often run a lot. We used common, yet
durable materials in our wheelchair and walker, such as PVC pipe, copper pipe, bike wheels, and the
back of a backpack. While building the projects, we ran into plenty of issues; the wheels wouldn't
stay on the walker, the fabric kept coming un–velcroed, the pipes of the wheelchair twisted when it
was used, etc., etc. We had to come up with creative solutions on the fly, just like I'd done
previously in the Rube Goldberg and edible car

The Dangers Of Burs
Biology: Burs are the seed of certain dry fruit that has evolved to carry hook like appendages to
attach to animals, debris, and other possible carrying materials to increase the likelihood of
relocating to a suitable environment. The hook like structures also act as a physical defense against
herbivores. The burs attach to passing animals via loop hooking with the fur. Although each
microscopic loop hooking takes a relatively small amount of force to break, the combination of
many hooks attaching requires great force to break. The dispersal method works by the animal
typically removing the bur purposefully after some time following migration due to irritation.
Following dispersal, the rooting process initiates and will produce more burs ... Show more content

Inelastic bandages have shown increased pressure, and decreased comfort vs. Velcro, alongside
increased prognoses (Mosti, 2015). Prenatal diagnosis of fetuses for the detection of pathogens and
defects has also been a problem potentially solved by velcro. Circulating fetal nucleated cells are the
most accurate form of genomic DNA determination, and nanoVelcro microchips hybridizing for
detection has shown promising results. The Velcro microchips use maternal blood to collect
chromosomal aberrations, gender, and defects. They use looping alongside immunochemistry are
currently validated methods that are pose very little risk with high reward (Hou, 2017). Bioinspired
Product/Process: Velcro was the bioinspired product of the bur's attachment and detachment
mechanisms observed by de Mestral. Velcro is simply an array of miniscule synthetic loops and
hooks that form a crosslink to adhere, and detach with forced pulling. De Mestral coordinated efforts
with local weavers to initially use cotton looping to mimic the burs. Nylon was deduced as the most
efficient material, and although efficient machinery was developed to mass produce the product,
success didn't occur until NASA used it. Although not specifically needed for space, velcro provided
many benefits for astronaut attire that promoted the product's public image. The process proved
difficult with issues occuring in density, size, and rigidity determination

J.k. Rowling 's The World Of The Olympics
Quidditch in the Olympics
Introduction
Would it interest you to know that the newest game in the Olympics was going to include flying on
booms 200 feet in the air and smacking away balls that are hurdling towards you at 70 miles per
hour? I would personally be VERY interested, but sadly we have to settle and fight for the next best
thing. Grounded (or mugglized, as the Potterheads would call it) Quidditch.
History of Quidditch
The sport quidditch was first played in 2005 at Middlebury College by Harry Potter fan, freshman
Xander Manshel. Xander had been looking for something he could start that showed his
appreciation for his love of sports and his love of J.K. Rowling's best selling book series, Harry
Potter.
Once Xander got a team together it's popularity started to grow around campus and six more teams
were formed. In 2006 quidditch players told their friends about the newest sport and quidditch's
popularity grows to more campuses. In 2007 the first quidditch world cup is held between
Middlebury and Vassar community colleges. Quidditch becomes one of the most popular clubs on
campuses. Quidditch continues to grow in popularity up until 2010 when the USQ (United States
Quidditch) is established as the first nonprofit quidditch organization.
Description Of Quidditch
In the Harry Potter series the protagonist, Harry, is chosen to be on his school's quidditch team.
Harry's quidditch team has most of the same rules as the modern teams but his are a little bit more

better if we didn't have them at all or some one came up with a good solution. First of all mosquitos
are one of the most annoying animals of all time with their annoying little wings and that terrible
little noise they make. After they land on you if you happen to be quick be enough and you smack
them you get all the blood on your skin and if you're not quick enough they will leave a red bump

nuts for two reasons if you're an adult and don't have a legitimate reason like your hand cut off you
should not wear velcro shoes. They make this annoying little nose and should just wear shoes with
shoelace sometimes people even have shoes that have shoelaces but have this extra use less piece of
velcro on it. Another thing that bothers me are wires because they get tangeld up and would be
better if everything was wireless. With out wires we wouldent have to worry abou tangled up cords
or broken cords and without wires they coudent get in the way.Now a days everything is starting to
be more wireless so if wires just stoped existing everthing would be better Without these three
things life would be better no more pesky mosquitos no more annoying velcro noises and no more
tangled wires. Imagine going to the movies and you don't hear any velcro noises and then you go to
the park to sit down and no mosquitos bite you and then you pull out your wireless headphones to

Different Types Of People Throughout This World, Single...
There are two types of people in this world, single and not so single. My entire life I have been
categorized and tightly fastened to the single life. If there was to be one thing I loved most about this
lifestyle, it would be the constant reminder I get each day. Like the lady in the nail salon "oooooh
you have boyfriend"? "No, no I do not have a boyfriend". "Why not"? She asks with a curious look
on her face. This is the type of question I struggle to answer, but always end up answering with "I
don't know" or "Just not the right time". When actually I'm going through the million and one
reasons why I'm undateable. Growing up all of my friends have had boyfriends and I have had the
pleasure of meeting them all. I have run out of toes and fingers to count the endless amount of third
wheel dates I have attended. My favorite by far was the one where I sat on the cold, damp, cement
of the parking lot while my friend and her boyfriend "talked privately" in the back seats of his car.
To the much amusement of this event, I decided to walk home. During that rather brisk and
frustrating walk, I thought of the many different kinds of relationships, all of which I have only
observed. Please don't be offended if any of these apply to you. The "PDA on LSD" When I think of
this relationship a certain phrase comes to mind... "Get a Room". Ahh yes, the lovely and ever so
affectionate PDA on LSD couple. I hope that you have had the opportunity to be graced with such a

My Fieldwork Placement
My adapted lesson for my fieldwork placement at Abilities First was challenging yet satisfying in
the end. I have never adapted an entire lesson plan so it was defiantly a learning experience. When I
was planning and developing this lesson plan, I wanted to make sure I captured and aligned my
content with the educational policies and recent special education research. This was important for
me to consider because all students should have the opportunity to learn and succeed in a general
education environment just like their nondisabled peers. Through this fieldwork, I truly saw how
important it is to make students with disabilities a part of the general education curriculum as much
as possible.
My adapted lesson was informed by recent educational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Special education teachers have to implement a variety of instructional strategies for their students
in order to individualize the curriculum for students to participate in the general education
curriculum. This is in reference to CEC Professional Standards #4: Instructional Strategies. Also, I
understood how students with disabilities have the "same curriculum as peers without disabilities to
have the opportunity to learn. Some may learn to alternate achievement standards" (Class
PowerPoint: What We Need to Know). Lastly, after developing the lesson plan and actually
implementing it to my focus learner, I realized how "on–the–spot" they need to be and be able to
work through the challenges that may arise. At the beginning of my lesson, the student wanted to
remove all of the materials from the Velcro and then put them back on. I allowed the student to do
this because this is what made her feel comfortable as well as getting a feel for the materials. This
was not apart of my lesson but this made me understand that while teaching students with
disabilities things do not go as planned and I need to be ready to make adjustments when needed.
Special education teachers have a heart of gold to accommodate for a wide range of abilities, which
is why this experience has opened my eyes. Thus, special education teachers play a huge role in
making sure all students are able to learn by differentiating instruction, materials, and learning styles
to diverse learners in their class to ensure everyone has the same opportunity to succeed. This is in

The mass of three clamps with hangers was determined, and the average mass of a clamps and
hanger was determined. A 100 g mass was then hung on the 10 cm mark of the meter stick using a

Difference Between Cloth And Cloth Diapers
Cloth diapers versus disposable diapers there are many similarities and differences to consider. First
there is health & environmental, no matter the choice one makes it must be safe for your child and
our planet. Second there is conveniences and price which is a big concern for many working
families, and last but most important is comfort. So as we look at the differences and in some cases
similarities we will be able to make a clear decision on which one would best fit one's life style. As
we go through the similarities and differences we will see that the decision will be purely based on
personal preferences.
Cloth diapers have changes through the years since safety pins and special folding, they now have
Velcro and snap closures and are just about as quick to change as a disposable diaper. Cloth diapers
come in many different styles, flat, fitted, pockets and all–in–ones. Some of the biggest downfalls
with cloth diapers is the washing of the diaper and leaking because it does not have the absorption
that disposable diapers have. Cloth diapers are also hard to deal with when away from home because
you have to take the dirty ones with you. One of the most important aspects of cloth diapers are they
are safer for the environment because they do not have chemicals like dioxins in them like
disposable diapers do. Cloth diaper choices have gained popularity in recent years with so many
sizes and inserts." Cloth Diapers are environment–friendly dumping virtually nothing at landfills
and not contributing to pollution". ". (What to expect, 2017) Cloth diapers are made of cotton fiber,
microfiber, wool and hemp.
There are many advantages to using disposable diapers except for the environmental aspect because
"disposable diapers account for 3.4 million tons of landfill waste per year and do not decompose".
(What to expect, 2017) Disposable diapers are convenient when not at home, although disposable
diapers are very absorbent some babies might be allergic to the chemicals in the absorbent.
Disposable diapers are less likely to leak and therefore your babies will sleep longer through the
night, disposable diapers are more expensive, because when using cloth diapers you can use inserts
and reuse the same diaper

Safe Night Out Aesop
Aesop has written a multitude of sticky stories – The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Tortoise and the
Hare, The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing – just to name a few. In common, these tales are carefully
encoded with concrete imagery. From the many sticky works that Aesop wrote, the power of vivid
and tangible topics is demonstrated by the mere fact that Aesop's tales have been told for over 2,500
years and are still prevalent today. The Nature Conservancy (TNC), for example, also capitalized
concrete ideas in order to help protect environmentally precious land by using perceptible words and
ideas. Instead of using directional language to describe an area, they named it Mount Hamilton
Wilderness so that people should definitively identify the location. ... Show more content on

Likewise, the Velcro Theory of Memory claims that rather than storing memory like a filing cabinet,
like Velcro, remembering things is like the two sides pressing together as the brain hosts a multitude
of loops and hooks. Consider Jane Elliott's explanation of the assassination of Martin Luther King,
Jr. to her third–grade classroom. To make the abstract idea of racism concrete, she separated brown–
eyed children from blue–eyed children, proclaiming that the brown–eyed children were superiors.
After the children experienced concrete racism, Elliott switched the roles of two groups and further
demonstrated the concreteness of racism. Altogether, in order for ideas to be sticky, they must be
concrete. As with Stone Yamashita's capitalization of concrete techniques to develop a partnership
with Disney, ideas must be concrete for novices and more complex for experts. Likewise, as with
Kaplan, ideas need to be realistic and "fleshed out." In short, like General Mills' and the Saddleback
Church's sticky ideas, people are attracted to concrete ideas – they just stick better. Heath, C. &
Heath, D. (2007). Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die [Kindle Version].

Chalk Up Gymnastics

  • 1. Chalk Up Gymnastics How to Put on and Chalk up Gymnastics Grips for the Most Effective Performance Every gymnast has a sacred pair of grips that helps them swing the bars. If they're too loose, they'll fall off. Too tight, their fingers will turn purple. Excess or scarce chalk will lead to a potentially disastrous event of peeling off the bar to a landing that no one can predict. This effective process will help every gymnast, or anyone who ever pondered how gymnasts get those "things" on their hands, learn the crucial steps to a wonderful performance. The first thing you'll want to do is take the pair of wristbands and two grips out of their designated grip bag. Situate one wristband on each wrist. The wristbands should be far up enough that it covers just the base of your hand, so that the grips won't rub and become painful. Undo the Velcro of your grips and unfold the leather hand piece. Insert your hand through the bottom of the grip and adjust it so that it sits comfortably over the wristbands and the leather hand piece is on the palm of your hand, with the dowel against the folds of your fingers. Grab the Velcro strip and pull to fasten the grip securely to your wrist. Remember, you want to stay on the bar, this step is imperative to your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Start by using the scraper to rub off all of the excess chalk on your grips. Then, take the spray bottle and mist water onto the leather hand piece. There should not be any dry spots. Immediately pick up the chalk block and smear it against the leather piece, and all parts of the same side of your hand until it is thoroughly and consistently white. Make sure you get underneath the grip on the palm of your hand as well. Do not clap or blow on your hands after you have completed this step, for the inviolability of others. • 5. Pros And Cons Of The AZMED Maternity Belt Pregnancy is a wonderful thing but it does come with its own set of down sides. Some of those are hot flashes and back pains. The AZMED Maternity Belt helps with the back pain and has a breathable material to help you from getting overly hot. Let's look at some of the other features that this belt has to offer. Here are some of the pros that the AZMED Maternity Belt has to offer: The AZMED is made from a breathable fabric to help you from getting too hot under your band. This maternity band lifts your belly at the bottom to help relieve some of your back pressure. This belt also helps with hip and pelvic pain when wearing this belt. The AZMED is adjustable up to 46 inches. This maternity belt offers gentle compression in the stomach area and makes everyday activity a little easier. The AZMED supports your belly and lessens the strain on your spine. The AZMED Maternity Belt helps to correct your posture. The maternity belt supports weakened abdominal muscles during pregnancy and can even help post–partum. Here are some of the cons that the AZMED Maternity Belt has to offer: The maternity belt won't stay in place (slides). When walking, it slides up and down your waist and when you sit it dig into your hips. The support pieces on the sides of the AZMED dig into your hips. The maternity belt is not good for small framed people (too much material and the Velcro hangs) or larger framed people (only goes to 46"). If you try to wear the maternity belt under ... The Pros And Cons Of Biomimetics Iara Lema Ms. McIntosh Science 7B December 12, 2017 Biomimetic or Biomimicry: Nature's responses to human problems Many different species have had to adapt to the most adverse conditions of nature, whose solutions have been the product of biological evolution. Today our civilization faces many problems that need sustainable solutions, as science shows us, they can be inspired by the wisdom of nature. So, instead of racking our brains thinking about creative ways to solve them, we should find solutions in understanding how nature has solved those same problems along the years (PMC). There is a science called biomimetic or biomimicry that works this way. Here we have a clear explanation of what it is: "Biomimetics is the study of nature and ... • 9. Write An Essay On Adjustable Fabric Kidnapping In September 2008, a two–month old girl in Demorest, Georgia suffocated when she rolled into the adjustable fabric siding of her bassinet, pressing her face into a pocket which formed near the velcro fasteners. In January 2009, another death occurred due to the convertible "close–sleeper/bedside sleeper" bassinets manufactured by Simplicity Inc. The six–month old girl in Fort Worth, Texas appears to have been fatally entrapped in the bassinet bar opening created when the velcro fasteners were not secured. The Simplicity 3–in–1 and 4–in–1 convertible bassinets, have metal bars that are covered by an adjustable fabric flap. This fabric flap is secured by velcro fasteners, which are supposed to be partially removed when the bassinet is turned into the bedside/close–sleeper mode. If the velcro fasteners are not properly re–secured when the fabric flap is adjusted, or if the consumer entirely removes the fabric flap exposing the metal bars, an infant can slip through the opening between the lower metal bar and the mattress support and become entrapped and suffocate or strangle. This is what happened to the two babies that died due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 11. This Is The Fourth Of July Analysis Finally, it is the Fourth of July. My brother Harry and I have this tradition that we do every year. Although it is not very phenomenal or picturesque, it is really amusing for him and I. Both of us get our Nerf guns from our bedrooms and meet in the backyard. Wearing Velcro vests, the "bullets" stick to us because they have Velcro on them as well. Whoever has the least amount of "bullets" on their vest wins. It is difficult not to be engulfed by them. Bulwarks are allowed to be used during the onslaught. Our mother says that we wreak havoc on the whole backyard but I think she is used to it now. Harry claims that I am impregnable because I have never been beaten. He says that this is his year to finally beat me but it is not feasible. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Observation of Children at Play and Work Observation: Yesterday, in the morning, I was sitting on the floor, pretending that I was cooking something on the pot as I stir. "Child A" saw what I was doing and walked towards me. "Child A, come and see what I am cooking", I said. She took the saucepan with the lid that was on the stove, sat down on the floor and put the saucepan down. She held on to the lid, opened it and closed it. I handed her the spoon that I was using and I took the pot and the spatula and showed her how to stir. "This is how we stir, "Child A", I said. She started pounding the saucepan using the spoon that I gave her, making sounds. "Child B" heard the sound that "Child A" was making and saw what we are doing. "Child B" was looking at the pot and the saucepan that was on the floor as she crawls toward us. She sat on the floor beside me and opened and closed the pot twice. I opened my eyes wide and smiled, "Wow 'Child B' you are making sounds!", I said. "Child B" looked at me and smiled back. I gave her the spatula and assisted her hand on how to stir. I took the kettle and the cups and put it on the floor. I sang, "This is the way we pour our drink" and pretended that I was from the cup. "Child A" took the other cup and drank from it. "Uh– oh! Out of your mouth, "Child A", I said. Later that day, after their lunch, "Child C" went to the dramatic area and played with the kitchenware. I went to her and sang, "This is the way we stir our food" as I use the spoon to stir. She moved her head from left ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of the time, the accidents that happen are for the worse. But, some accidents can be for the greater good. When scientists and inventors have accidents they could get burnt in a lab or cause a fire. But, other times they make tremendous things. Some huge inventions that changed the world are the microwave, play–doh, x–rays and many more. Velcro was also made on accident by a swiss electrical engineer by the name of George de Mestral. Jesse Lane says "Velcro was invented when George de Mestral noticed how certain types of burrs would cling to his clothes and his dog's fur whenever he took him for a walk in the woods." Thus creating velcro that is used on day to day items. In addition, penicillin is a very useful accidental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And that was the beginning revolutionary history of penicillin. Later in the paragraph the author says, "After some experimentation, he found that the ring was bacteria free, and that the mold was a rare spore called Penicillium notatum," Where the name penicillin comes from "which had wafted on air currents into his lab from another floor." If he hadn't gone on vacation and left his lab a mess then penicillin wouldn't be with us today saving lives.Thirdly, penicillin is a widely used medicine that kills bacteria and treats ... As it says in the text at http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball/features/tools–of–the–trade.html: Through the mid–1800s, players still fielded the ball barehanded, which gave an advantage to the hitters. One of the first players that used a glove was Doug Allison, a catcher for the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Gloves have originally been made out of leather. Most players used to wear gloves on both hands to secure the baseball so it doesn't fall out. When 1903 Came around webbed gloves for fielders became common. • 21. Velcro Effect Of Tiny Hooks On A Burr Everyone uses Velcro in some way, whether it's on shoes or if it's simply just to stick two things together. Velcro, which is inspired by burrs (a type of seed case or flower head), is a very famous example of biomimicry. In 1941, when Swiss engineer George de Mestral was removing burrs from his dog after a hunting trip, he decided to observe them and see how they worked. When he looked at the burrs under a microscope, George de Mestral noticed that there are tiny hooks at the end of each spine on a bur. These miniscule hooks are the reason why burrs stick onto things like animal fur, clothing, and hair. The hooks catch onto anything with loops, which animal fur, clothing, and hair all have. Generation Velcro, By Dorothy Woodend In her article, "Generation Velcro", Dorothy Woodend emphasises that today's youth is ill–prepared for the harsh realities of the world because there is "loss of knowledge" (para. 5, p. 182). Woodend states that children are cradled and sheltered and are stripped of the opportunity to become self– sufficient. Woodend ponders over Jane Jacob's words, in which the author discusses that "the loss of knowledge, once vanished, is so difficult to regain" (para. 5, p. 182). Woodend uses this to suggest that it's important for a society to safe–keep valuable skills, otherwise, the new generation will suffer with minimal knowledge and few applicable skills when faced with calamities. • 25. School Gymnastics Research Paper If you are in the process of equipping your local school gym with materials for basic gymnastics classes, you need to make sure that you purchase the right types of gymnastics pads for your school. Here are the four most common types of gymnastic mats: #1 Folding Panel Mats If your school gym is multiple purpose, one of the best types of mats that you can purchase are folding panel mats. These types of mats open up into either three or four panels. At the edge of each mat there are Velcro strips that will allow you to stick the mats together and create a larger padded space. There are even folding mats that have Velcro strips on the top and bottom as well, so you can really create any type of space that you need to for your school gymnastics class. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are generally extremely thick, and very soft. As the name implies, they are for "crashing" into. They are generally used to support beginners who are just learning a new skill. You will probably only need one ot two crash mats, depending on the size of your program. #3 Blocks You only need to purchase block mats if you plan on teach the vault or the beam at your school. Block mats are really sold and firm, and are generally used to assist students with climbing onto either the vault or the beam. They generally contain Velcro on the sides so they can adhere to your other mats. #4 Beam Pads Once again, you alone need to purchase a beam pad if you plan on teaching the balance beam at your school. This pad goes right under a balance beam and provides your students with a soft place to land when they dismount from the balance beam. If your school is starting a gymnastics program, make sure you purchase the right type of mats. The four types of mats listed above are the most common types of mats. If you are still not sure what types of mats you need, speak to your new gymnastics coach about what equipment they need to be successful before completing your

  • 28. Safety Advantages And Disadvantages New product As every parent knows, all infants and toddlers must have a child safety seat when riding in a vehicle. Parents know the importance of car seats, but dread getting their children into them. Small children don't like being restrained; most parents struggle daily not only with getting their children in the car but also with seatbelts. Buckles get stuck and seat belts are buried underneath the child, making it difficult to pull their arms through the restraint. While this is not a new product, it is a design change for car seats that includes built in devices such as iron free magnets, hooks, or Velcro that will facilitate the process of getting children safely into and out of their car seats without the stress and power struggle parents often face when traveling with young children. Product development process While developing this design change safety has to be our number one priority. This product design may include iron free magnets, hooks, or velcro. Some magnets contain iron and can be harmful to children. Other magnets can be too small and if not attached properly can become a choking hazard to the child. In order to prevent injuries, car seats will be inspected for proper placement of instruments and iron levels in magnets. Trusted car seat companies will also test this new product in order for them to meet safety standards. Accidental swallowing of magnets is a growing problem for kids that parents should be aware of. When a child swallows a magnet, there is no visual evidence of it and diagnosis can be delayed. When magnets become attracted and pull toward each other, they can form sores on the lining of the stomach or intestine, and in some cases, can perforate them. A large number of children in recent years have needed surgery to remove these magnets. (Roth, M. 2012). Properly placing the products new tools out of the child's reach, and testing out the final product for its safety can prevent accidents and serious injuries. Creating a design with these inexpensive built in devises will allow parents to easily get their child in and out of their seats with no problems. Once the child is removed from their seat, these devises will allow the child's seat belt to stay open and out of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

HYPOTHESIS: Without the effects of friction the momentum will be conserved in the isolated system. In all three experiments the momentum before the interaction will equal the momentum after the interaction. METHOD: An air hockey table was set up and a video camera on a tripod was placed over the air hockey table. The camera was positioned so it was directly above the air hockey table facing downwards. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would have created friction which is regarded as an external force; therefore the pucks were no longer in an isolated system. Another random error occurred in the first experiment where the red puck was initially held down to prevent it from moving and released when the black puck collided with it. Due to the person's reaction time, holding it in place may have interfered with the collision as it was an external force and this may have impacted upon the results. Several systematic occurred in this experiment, but the most important one would have been the fact that the air hockey table was not completely level. This impacted upon the experiment in two ways. In the first experiment where the red puck is initially stationary, as the table was not level it moved around before the black puck collided with it. To overcome this the red puck had to be held in place and as mentioned before this would have provided and external force acting upon the puck. The unevenness of the air hockey table also meant that there was a possibility of friction acting on the pucks while they were moving. In the third collision with the Velcro another systematic error occurred. When the two pucks collided and stuck together they did not continue straight, instead they rotated. This is not linear momentum but rather it is angular momentum. This is reflected in the results as the magnitude of the initial and final momentum of the system is equal, but the ... It assesses the environmental impacts of their supply chain activities as a whole. By looking at the full picture of the activities, a firm such as Procter and Gamble (P&G) could view the environmental tradeoffs of product innovation. In efforts to sustain competitive advantage with their popular–selling item, disposable diapers, the use of LCA aides in making decisions for producing greener products for its customers, and to reduce environmental footprint. The public is becoming widely concerned with the products effects on resources and the environment. "These effects occur at every stage in a product's life cycle–from the extraction of the raw materials from the ground through the processing, manufacturing, and transportation phases, ending with use and disposal or recycling" (Le–van,1995, p.7,). The present study aims to evaluate the life cycle system of disposable diapers in efforts to assign understanding of the sustainability benefits of Life Cycle Assessment. Starting this project, I had a general knowledge of the design process that I'd used in many of my earlier projects, as well as other knowledge and skills from specific projects. The prosthetic arm project taught me how to make a functional product on a slim budget, as well as important aspects to consider when designing a prosthetic, such as comfort and ease of use. From the Rube Goldberg project and the edible car challenge, I learned how to work through problems and improvise solutions. Although each microscopic loop hooking takes a relatively small amount of force to break, the combination of many hooks attaching requires great force to break. The tracking markers were located in the fourth cluster on the femur, tibia and around pelvis (Illustrated in Figure 2). The track makers that were to be put around the pelvis, thigh, and shank were first affixed to thermoplastic shell and later attached to straps with Velcro. The pelvic strap must be placed over the Spina iliaca posterior superior and secured with Velcro. The participant's shoes had rearfoot retroreflective markers directly attached and secured with non–reflective tape. To the left and right trochanter major, the joint markers were applied the lateral and medial knee joint space and the lateral and medial malleoli. • 65. Different Types Of People Throughout This World, Single... There are two types of people in this world, single and not so single. My entire life I have been categorized and tightly fastened to the single life. If there was to be one thing I loved most about this lifestyle, it would be the constant reminder I get each day. Like the lady in the nail salon "oooooh you have boyfriend"? "No, no I do not have a boyfriend". "Why not"? She asks with a curious look on her face. This is the type of question I struggle to answer, but always end up answering with "I don't know" or "Just not the right time". When actually I'm going through the million and one reasons why I'm undateable. Growing up all of my friends have had boyfriends and I have had the pleasure of meeting them all. I have run out of toes and fingers to count the endless amount of third wheel dates I have attended. My favorite by far was the one where I sat on the cold, damp, cement of the parking lot while my friend and her boyfriend "talked privately" in the back seats of his car. To the much amusement of this event, I decided to walk home. During that rather brisk and frustrating walk, I thought of the many different kinds of relationships, all of which I have only observed. Please don't be offended if any of these apply to you. The "PDA on LSD" When I think of this relationship a certain phrase comes to mind... "Get a Room". I have never adapted an entire lesson plan so it was defiantly a learning experience. When I was planning and developing this lesson plan, I wanted to make sure I captured and aligned my content with the educational policies and recent special education research. This was important for me to consider because all students should have the opportunity to learn and succeed in a general education environment just like their nondisabled peers. Through this fieldwork, I truly saw how important it is to make students with disabilities a part of the general education curriculum as much as possible. Special education teachers have to implement a variety of instructional strategies for their students in order to individualize the curriculum for students to participate in the general education curriculum. This is in reference to CEC Professional Standards #4: Instructional Strategies. Also, I understood how students with disabilities have the "same curriculum as peers without disabilities to have the opportunity to learn. Some may learn to alternate achievement standards" (Class PowerPoint: What We Need to Know). Lastly, after developing the lesson plan and actually implementing it to my focus learner, I realized how "on–the–spot" they need to be and be able to work through the challenges that may arise. At the beginning of my lesson, the student wanted to remove all of the materials from the Velcro and then put them back on. I allowed the student to do this because this is what made her feel comfortable as well as getting a feel for the materials. This was not apart of my lesson but this made me understand that while teaching students with disabilities things do not go as planned and I need to be ready to make adjustments when needed. Special education teachers have a heart of gold to accommodate for a wide range of abilities, which is why this experience has opened my eyes. Thus, special education teachers play a huge role in making sure all students are able to learn by differentiating instruction, materials, and learning styles to diverse learners in their class to ensure everyone has the same opportunity to succeed. Collision Physics Lab Report For the Momentum, Energy, and Collisions experiment, my group and I weighed and placed two carts along a frictionless track, and ran three different types of collisions. In order to create an elastic collision, we used two magnetic bumpers that had the same charge. The second collision, my group and I used Velcro bumpers in order to create a total inelastic collision. Finally, for the last collision preformed, we used the Velcro and magnetic bumper to produce an inelastic collision. To record the velocities of the carts before and after the collision, we placed Vernier photogates along the beginning and end of the track. A 100 g mass was then hung on the 10 cm mark of the meter stick using a hanger, and then a 50 g mass was hung on the other end to a point where the meter stick was once again balanced. The values of the distances and the lever arm lengths were determined and recorded while performing the experiment. My group and I tested differing weights and lengths along the meter stick in order to practice calculating the torque of the system. To calculate the torque, we used the Ʃ풯 principle and the torque diagram to compose a 풯net equation. Furthermore, after the formation of the torque net equation, we substituted F_┴r for all the 풯 in the equation and solved for the position of the second hanging mass. Due to the contributing errors in the experimental set up, our theoretical was never equal to the experimental. Therefore, we found the difference between our r values, and then compared that value to our theoretical data. This comparison ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Difference Between Cloth And Cloth Diapers Cloth diapers versus disposable diapers there are many similarities and differences to consider. First there is health & environmental, no matter the choice one makes it must be safe for your child and our planet. Second there is conveniences and price which is a big concern for many working families, and last but most important is comfort. So as we look at the differences and in some cases similarities we will be able to make a clear decision on which one would best fit one's life style. As we go through the similarities and differences we will see that the decision will be purely based on personal preferences. Cloth diapers have changes through the years since safety pins and special folding, they now have Velcro and snap closures and are just about as quick to change as a disposable diaper. Cloth diapers come in many different styles, flat, fitted, pockets and all–in–ones. Some of the biggest downfalls with cloth diapers is the washing of the diaper and leaking because it does not have the absorption that disposable diapers have. Cloth diapers are also hard to deal with when away from home because you have to take the dirty ones with you. One of the most important aspects of cloth diapers are they are safer for the environment because they do not have chemicals like dioxins in them like disposable diapers do. Cloth diaper choices have gained popularity in recent years with so many sizes and inserts." Cloth Diapers are environment–friendly dumping virtually nothing at landfills and not contributing to pollution". ". (What to expect, 2017) Cloth diapers are made of cotton fiber, microfiber, wool and hemp. There are many advantages to using disposable diapers except for the environmental aspect because "disposable diapers account for 3.4 million tons of landfill waste per year and do not decompose". (What to expect, 2017) Disposable diapers are convenient when not at home, although disposable diapers are very absorbent some babies might be allergic to the chemicals in the absorbent. Disposable diapers are less likely to leak and therefore your babies will sleep longer through the night, disposable diapers are more expensive, because when using cloth diapers you can use inserts and reuse the same diaper ... In common, these tales are carefully encoded with concrete imagery. From the many sticky works that Aesop wrote, the power of vivid and tangible topics is demonstrated by the mere fact that Aesop's tales have been told for over 2,500 years and are still prevalent today. The Nature Conservancy (TNC), for example, also capitalized concrete ideas in order to help protect environmentally precious land by using perceptible words and ideas. Instead of using directional language to describe an area, they named it Mount Hamilton Wilderness so that people should definitively identify the location. ... To make the abstract idea of racism concrete, she separated brown– eyed children from blue–eyed children, proclaiming that the brown–eyed children were superiors. After the children experienced concrete racism, Elliott switched the roles of two groups and further demonstrated the concreteness of racism. Altogether, in order for ideas to be sticky, they must be concrete. As with Stone Yamashita's capitalization of concrete techniques to develop a partnership with Disney, ideas must be concrete for novices and more complex for experts. Likewise, as with Kaplan, ideas need to be realistic and "fleshed out."
