Weather can influence many things in literature. It can influence the mood, plot, characters, & setting. Foster makes it very clear to us that an author
will never put weather into a story with no reasoning behind it. Weather is not just simply a setting in literature.
The author begins the chapter "It's More Than Just Rain or Snow" by explaining what mood the quote "It was a dark and stormy night" creates. He
explains how weather is never placed in a story for no reason. Weather is a factor used to create a mood in the passage. "A sunny day with no
clouds in sight..." will create a happy mood while the reader could be imagining themselves in the story being outside on a beautiful clear day with
the sunshine hitting them just right. That could put anyone in a cheerful mood, right? If the author started a story with "The rain was beating down
on the roof as I realized it had been my first night without him...". Now obviously if the character had just lost someone they would be sad but adding
rain to the scene adds the effect of sadness and allows the reader jump in the book to feel what the character is feeling.
When meeting characters in the beginning of novels, the author can add how they perceive weather to let the readers get a feel for how observing they
are. If the character pays no mind to the weather the reader may see that had acted as ignorant.

to set the emotional tone when Gatsby reunites with Daisy. He uses the rain in chapter five to represent the nervousness of Gatsby.
"With his hands still in his coat pockets he stalked by me into the hall, turned sharply as if he were on a wire, and disappeared into the living–room. It
wasn't a bit funny. Aware of the loud beating of my own heart I pulled the door to against the increasing rain"(86).
A little earlier in the chapter, Gatsby also says that the rain is supposed to stop at four. Almost as if he this trying to tell himself that he will stop being
nervous once Daisy shows up, but contrary to that, the rain intensifies, and so does Gatsby's signs of being nervous. But later in the chapter, Nick says
that the sun starts to shine again, and he mentions, "While the rain continued it had seemed like the murmur of their voices, rising and swelling a little

Throughout this assignment I have learned that there are many things that go into making a weather forecast. I realized that it takes a lot of research

So I began to look up the long–term average of weather conditions for each day in order to predict the weather for the given day. Most of the time it
was pretty precise but it could have been better.
Out of the six models I found the Numerical Model to be the best choices when creating a forecast since it seemed to be the most accurate, due to the
fact that it measures uses calculations and takes into consideration the pressure, temperature, winds, humidity, clouds and precipitation. Out of all the
numerical models I chose to specifically use the North American Mesoscale model (NAM) because it was specific for my atmospheric situation.
Despite using the models for forecasting, I learned you have to take into consideration the different surface features including the different types of
fronts and pressure systems.
Overall, I have learned that being a meteorologist is not the path for me. The different models of forecasting are all very different and often hard to
read. It takes a lot of time and patients to look through all the different models and understand them. I am a type of person who likes immediate answer

The first article or website that I explored was titled Extreme weather. It begins by stating that as the world has warmed, it has triggered several other
things in the earth's climate to be altered. It then goes further into depth specifically naming the factors that have been changing due to the altering of

As Thomas C. Foster states in his book How to Read Literature Like a Professor, if a reader is analyzing a work, "one does well to remember, as one
starts reading a poem or story, to check the weather" (Foster 75). If there's one element of a literary work that can easily affect a scene, it is the weather.
Weather in literature can vary greatly from rain to snow to hail to fog and onwards. There is one type of weather, however, that is prominently featured
within Albert Camus' novel The Stranger, and that is hot, sunny weather. The novel's protagonist Meursault frequently makes remarks of the weather
surrounding him, from the blazing sun at his mother's funeral to the blinding light on a beach in Algiers where he shoots a man dead. If connected, the
reader can understand that the weather is simply not there to set the scene –– it is there to affect Meursault's feelings and actions in the moment. The
first major example is on the march to his mother's funeral, where Meursault frequently decides to take in the scenery, rather than the death of his
mother. Rather than mourn her, he to describe that he might understand his mother more by the seeing the beautiful scenery and the cypress trees. This
is simply pushed out of the way when he notices the area his mother lived in "with the sun bearing down, making the whole landscape shimmer with
