Impacts" on YouTube. The video showed poor innocent animals wrapped up in plastic bags and it
made me feel heartbroken. So I wanted to find out what other issues do plastic bags create and if we

For most college students, carrying some form of bag is a necessity. Depending on the person, they
might carry a backpack, purse, messenger bag, tote, or something else. Bags are sometimes a way to

For myself, my choice of bag was due to convenience and I'll explain. The backpack I use currently,
I have had since my sophomore year of high school. It is a grey JanSport backpack, that has one

nicely I am to frugal to buy a new one. Until, the straps breakoff I will probably continue to use it.
In high school I chose this backpack based on appearance (Grey, which is my favorite color) and the

The war on plastic bags is an intense and drawn out debate. It is obvious that the cons of plastic bag
usage outweigh the pros, yet our Earth is still being consumed by the infamous plastic bag. Many

of their opinions does nothing but stir the pot since no one can reach a general consensus on how to

Human's dependence on plastic bags have grown greatly in just the past couple of years. In 2013,
8.5 million tons of plastic bags were used and not properly recycled resulting in well over 8 million
tons of plastic bag waste. This amount of plastic bags used was expected to grow 10% within the 5
years following 2013 which would result in 9.35 million tons of plastic bag usage and waste (Usage

Every time my family and I go grocery shopping we end up having numerous plastic bags after
unloading the food. For the most part we save these bags, keeping them underneath the sink in case
we need to use them for something else later on. However, we have done such a great job at saving
these bags that they have begun to take up space. As such we have recently started throwing most of
them in the garbage. After watching the Bag It documentary in my English class I begin to realize
how much plastic we actually end up throwing away just in these plastic bags, and how wasteful it
is.

After Berrier saw the problem, he couldn't stop seeing it, plastic was everywhere! So, he took some
time to do research and show the world what the danger truly is with all this plastic. Yes, sure there
is plastic everywhere, so what? Why is this a problem? Berrier uses this documentary to explain just
that. To bring this big problem to the light, he covers three main topics: Single use disposable items
and the effect on our environment, ocean health, and human health.
The first question Jeb answers is why there is so much plastic around the world in our environment.
It starts with the mass production of single use disposable items. A "single use disposable item" is
simply an item that you can only use once and then it is disposed of. Berrier points out how so many
of our items we buy in today's society is, or is wrapped in this kind of single plastic. For example, as
the main issue of his documentary, plastic bags are single use disposable items, and are found in
almost every single store in America. In this part of the presentation he uses logos to get his point
across. Presenting facts such as this one: "the United States uses roughly– estimates are about 100
billion plastic bags per a year", which makes his argument more convincing. However, he does not
