Avoid The Top 10 backpack diaper bags Mistakes
Caring a baby is a journey, the art of dealing with the diapers, and other stuff can be an undertaking.
Most parents are doing an incredible job, the last thing they need is getting it wrong with the baby.
Your lifestyle backpack diaper bag selection can be not only time–consuming but also an intuitive
activity.
This is because kids can be unpredictable; you want the best for them to handle daily meltdowns and
blowouts.
When we had our first son, having to deal with impromptu poops while outdoors, was quite a steep
learning curve.
But, time revealed to us what we didn't know all along; the backpack diaper mistakes. This is
probably what most new parents would love to learn and a little ... Show more content on

Don't buy into eye–catching looks at the expense of applications. It can be frustrating buying a bag
with small hard–to–reach pockets.
Ensure your baby's bag comes with many compartments large enough to store all the baby stuff,
especially when outdoors.
At some point, we bought a small bag, after packing; we still couldn't accommodate a hand sanitizer
or drinking water. It did cost us extra dollars for a large size ultimately.
Mistake 2: Poor cleaning
As a caring parent, there is a likelihood of having your backpack diaper bag stained. This is why you
don't want to find yourself without an instant stain remover.
Include odor removers to avoid bad smell from all the potential messes that come with handling the
little ones
Remember to clean the bag regularly. For us, we preferred once every five months to avoid it fading
quickly and retain its shiny look. Opt for those easy to clean inside and outside.
Mistake 3: Wrong maintenance
There are other potential maintenance practices most parents miss to embrace when handling a
backpack diaper bag.
This includes too much exposure to sunlight which might lead to fading and durability in the long

Environmental Effects Of Plastic Bags
I decided to write this report after watching a documentary called, "Plastic Bags Environmental
Impacts" on YouTube. The video showed poor innocent animals wrapped up in plastic bags and it
made me feel heartbroken. So I wanted to find out what other issues do plastic bags create and if we
really need to ban them, or if we need to find other alternatives, or just manage our use of them.
Plastic bags have a benefit 'convenience', as most people nowadays use plastic bags for all sort of
things e.g. moving things, reusing for shopping, art and crafts which show people are reusing them
seen they are so convenient. My hypothesis is: Plastic bags are causing a problem and together we
need to find a solution. My key questions are: What are the issues that plastic bags create? Are their
environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic bags? How can we manage the use of plastic bags?
What are the issues that plastic bags create? There are a wide range of issues around plastic bags,
including impacts on animal welfare. According to an article I found on healthguidance.org "One of
the greatest problems is that an estimated 300 million plastic bags end up in the Atlantic Ocean
alone." So just think of the poor sea life that go hunting and mistake a floating plastic bag for a meal
and end up suffocating and experiencing a slow, painful death. "86% of all known species of sea
turtles have had reported problems of entanglement or ingestion of marine debris including plastic
bags" (post

The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags
Since 1985, America has been using plastic bags due to them being waterproof and having handles
making them easier to carry goods. Paper and plastic has always been a huge controversy in super
markets through the preference of customers. Some customers prefer having the paper bags standing
up straight in the trunks of their cars. Other customers prefer the plastic bags because of the handles
making it easier to walk home and carry their goods. Although both preferences are fine, all
customers know the dangers of the plastic bag. Banning plastic bags from stores and replacing them
with only paper or reusable bags, will reduce corruption of organic products, reduce CO2 emissions
from creation and destruction of the plastic and prevent harm upon Earth and its creatures. Plastic
bags were first designed in 1965 by a Swedish company which later became known as the "T–shirt
plastic bag"; made from high density polyethylene, but It was in the late 1970s when Plastic bags
first began to terrorize the well being of humanity. More and more supermarkets in America began
handing out plastic bags as if they were candy on Halloween. The more plastic bags humans use, the
more natural resources are being destroyed. There are two different types of plastic bags that one
may find in any supermarket, high density polyethylene (HDPE) or low density polyethylene
(LDPE). There isn't much difference between them besides the fact that LDPE would be the tougher
and more durable bags you might find in department stores as well as any regular supermarket. They
both require the same materials for creation such as oil, gas and coal (fossil fuels). Fossil fuels are
the prehistoric resources formed by plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years ago.
These fuels won't be replaced for another millions of years to come, that is why they're called "non–
renewable" resources. Plastic is very valuable, but humans decide that is more than okay to litter
these valuable resources than to recycle it and prevent some of the corruption and over–usage of
resources we may not have in a distant future. Although plastic bags, as well as paper bags, can be
recycled in order to postpone running out of resources, the creation and

Descriptive Essay On A Bag
For most college students, carrying some form of bag is a necessity. Depending on the person, they
might carry a backpack, purse, messenger bag, tote, or something else. Bags are sometimes a way to
express yourself, and sometimes appearance doesn't matter rather the functionality of it. Many
people chose their bag of choice based on these ideas.
For myself, my choice of bag was due to convenience and I'll explain. The backpack I use currently,
I have had since my sophomore year of high school. It is a grey JanSport backpack, that has one
large pocket and one small pocket. It has a giant hole in the side from years of use and to put it
nicely I am to frugal to buy a new one. Until, the straps breakoff I will probably continue to use it.
In high school I chose this backpack based on appearance (Grey, which is my favorite color) and the
popularity of the brand. Today, I don't care much about the appearance, as many could gather from
the giant hole. I use it because I have it and its still functional.
Laptop: My laptop is a necessity for me and that is why I always carry it in my backpack. I'm often
on campus most of the day and I use the laptop to work on assignments, quizzes, watch Netflix
between classes, or browse the internet.
Binder: My binder is a ½ inch white organizational tool. I use it to hold hard copies of assignments
to prevent damage and blank college ruled paper in case I need a piece for an in–class assignment.

Anti Bag Tax
I believe that our government should include a tax on plastic grocery bags in our state because it will
immensely benefit our community. I think that a bag tax is necessary to help sustain our
environment and that it is not reasonable to ask of our community. A bag tax will improve the lives
of many in our state in the long run.
Plastic bag waste has become a huge issue in our state and must be put to an end. I believe that
enforcing a bag tax is the best way to do this. Along almost every street or highway, you will find
plastic bags strewn about carelessly. This is very unsettling and unattractive for the people coming
in and out of our state. If we were to place a bag tax, people would be more likely to save their bags,
or use less, limiting

Essay On Bag Bags
The type of day handbag should you cause the next big vacation? You do not want to haul around
something obtrusively large or heavy, nevertheless, you also have to have room for the
requirements. The very last thing you want to worry about on holiday has been the victim of
pickpocketing or theft, so choosing the bag that will protect your belongings is crucial. We've curved
up a set of the best and safest travel day hand bags to help with making that decision process less of
the puzzle.
Types of TRavel Bags
There are a huge selection of different day carrier options in differing styles, sizes, colors, and types,
but also for our purposes, they often get caught in one of three categories:
Backpacks
This familiar kind of carrier has (as you could expect) a strap for every single make and rests on
your rear. Backpacks are usually just a little bigger and can take more or greater items than a few of
the other hand bags. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We broke down this extensive category into three groupings: messenger luggage, which can be a
little greater; standard crossbody travel bags; and handbags with crossbody straps.
Waist packs
Waist packs, also called belt handbags or fanny packages, have a strap that encircles your waistline
with a tiny bag that may be worn in the front, in back, or on the comparative aspect of your system.
Deciding which kind of handbag to get will rely upon what your location is going and what forms of
excursions you'll be using the handbag for. You will also want to think about what you'll be taking
around together with you to ensure you get a tote that will support everything but still be
comfortable.

Is Banning Plastic Bags the Best Option?
"Bhutan first banned the use of plastic bags in 1999. This was reinforced in 2005 and again in 2009.
Now in 2013, we still see plastic bags in use"
Topic: Write an easy on weather banning plastic bags is the right approach to waste management or
are there other means to achieve waste management.
Plastic bag waste has become one of the serious problems that have threatened the health of natural
resources, ecosystem, biodiversity, animals, human life and environment. We can see tens and
thousands of people are throwing and using plastic bags every day. According to Oxford
Dictionaries (2014) they define plastic bags as "A synthetic material made from a wide range of
organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be molded into shape while soft,
and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form". According to Facts and Myths report of 2014 notes
that every year over one trillion plastic bags are consume and used worldwide. China consumes
almost 3 billion plastic bags yearly and in every minute around 0ne million of plastic bags are
consumed. The number of plastic user is increasing every year due to its extraordinary strength and
it's versatile for the consumers. Plastic bags can be classified into two categories that are
biodegradable and degradable. Biodegradable are those plastic bag that are made from plant–based
material such as corn, wheat and etc... and they will biodegrade within six month if they are

The Ban Of Plastic Bags
California endorsed parliament bans on the use of plastic bags, if the case project turned into a law it
will be the first of its kind in the United States. The prohibition of a number of cities and counties in
California and other states, including Maui County in Hawaii, the use of plastic bags in grocery

the Senate voted in California by 22 votes in favor and 15 opposed to the bill, which must be ratified
by the Democratic Governor Jerry Brown by September 30, to become valid. Brown did not
announce his position on the bill. One of the supporter of the bill said that the plastic bags once used
not only contaminate our shores, but also contaminate our mountains and rivers and the lakes as
well. Under the law, which was approved by the Governor of the state, located in the western United
States, would ban single–use plastic bags in butcher shops and pharmacies, with effect from the first
of July 2015, and in neighborhood shops and department stores a year from now. The law allows
stores to impose a price 10 cents for paper bags or midwife for multiple uses. The Republicans
oppose the law, arguing that it is a very strong government intervention in the affairs of small and
medium–sized companies, while manufacturers of plastic bags stressed that this may lead to the

There's logic missing in the battle of bags now raging in the California Legislature. People are tired
of flimsy plastic bags hanging around trees or finding bags swimming with the fishes. The majority
of the United States has started to create efficient ways to prevent the harmful doings of global
warming. California, as a matter of fact, has already started the path towards a cleaner environment,
known as proposition 67, where they proposed a ban on plastic bags in an effort to reduce carbon
dioxide intake and environmental waste and public stores would charge customers 10 cents per bag.
Although the proposal to charge 10 cents for plastic bags may create a state of bacteria–collecting
reusable bags, it is the closest step to a cleaner future because it will protect the environment from
degradation, prevent global warming, and decrease environmental waste.
Charging 10 cents for a plastic bag may seem silly, however, it is a much bigger concept towards
earth's future, such as degradation. Another iceberg broke off of Antarctica, resulting from warmer
ocean waters eroding the icy tongue of Antarctica, leading to higher sea levels, debating whether
people should be worried or not. The article, "An iceberg the size of Delaware just broke off of
Antarctica", by The LA Times, entitles, "The iceberg, which at around 1 trillion tons is one of the
largest on record, poses no immediate threat to sea levels. But scientists say the break may have
altered the profile of the continent's western peninsula for decades to come and offers a preview of
what degradation might do to marine ice shelves". This quote explains that the iceberg may not raise
sea levels, but may offer a preview of degradation. In order to stop anymore icebergs going rogue,
bold actions should be taken into place. Therefore, charging 10 cents a bag may be the start of a So

The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags
Mangu–Ward discusses the rise and fall of plastic bags in her article, Plastic bags are good for you:
what prohibitionists get wrong about one of modernity's greatest inventions. In the 1960s, the
invention of the plastic bag began to spread to supermarkets around the world. Plastics bags were
cheaper and lighter than paper bags. At the same time, they were also durable and very useful. The
plastic bags were a very important invention that helped change the way people shop. It wasn't long,
however, that people began to realize the environmental impact of plastic bags. The plastic bag was
soon replaced by the reusable bag and many cities began taxing or even banning plastic bags. Fears
over the environment resulted in the downfall of the plastic bag. Mangu–Ward's article is an
example of People making emotional discussions instead of logical discussions. At the time plastic
bags were introduced, they offered many advantages over the other options shoppers had at the
grocery store. Plastic bags are very affordable. Because plastic bags are affordable, more stores
began to stock them as a cheaper alternative to paper bags. The more stores that stocked plastic
bags, the more people started to use plastic bags. When shoppers choose plastic bags over paper
bags, the stores save money because they are spending less on bags. Plastic bags were also more
appealing to the shopper than paper bags. Plastic bags are thin and flexible, which means they can
be stored very easily. Plastic bags are lighter than paper bags, waterproof, unlike paper bags, and
strong enough to carry most groceries. Another advantage is that shoppers could carry many plastic
bags at once, unlike paper bags. Shoppers can reuse their plastic bags for things besides groceries, as
well. For example, shoppers can use plastic bags as trash bags, or bags to put wet swimsuits or dirty
laundry in. Because plastic bags are affordable, physically better than paper bags, and could be
reused; many shoppers and stores began using plastic over paper. Though plastic bags had many
advantages, there were some problems. When plastic bags first started spreading to supermarkets,
they became controversial after children started suffocating on them. Plastic bags

Plastic Bags: The Burden of Shopping
Picture this: A person goes out to the store to purchase a couple of necesites. Those necesites then
get put into a plastic bag as per usual. They get home and take everything out of the bag. They then
trash the bag because it is no longer needed. The plastic bag then ends up in some landfill where it is
blown away into the middle of the ocean. The plastic bag then goes on to danger the marine animals.
Plastic bags should be banned from stores because there are other ways people can carry their
things, they are dangerous to marine animals, and cause pollution. Plastic bags are not needed to
carry items people buy from the stores. There are plenty of other ways to carry items that are bought
from the store. For example, people can bring their own bags from home. They can also use tote
bags instead that can be reused. Tote shopping bags are a more efficient way to carry items. Tote
shopping bags made of canvas or jute which is a natural fiber. There are also times when people go
to the store and only buy a couple of things. Therefore, they don't need a bag because they can carry
their things with their hands. Plastic bags cause a massive amount of pollution to the earth. It lets out
lots of CO2 into the air with the production of it. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that if let out too much at
one time can hurt the planet. Not only do plastic bags produce pollution while being made, but also
when they are decomposing. Plastic bags go on to last for up to 10–1000 years. That is possibly
1000 years that a plastic bag goes on to add the huge amount of trash in the world. Although plastic
bags take so long to decompose they do eventually break down. Exposure to a lot of sunlight and
wind will also speed up the process of the decomposition of plastic bags. The breaking down of
plastic bags seems like a good thing, however it is the complete opposite. Plastic bags are broken
down into microscopic particles that are toxic. Those toxic particles then go on to hurt the
environment. An articles states, "They break down into tiny toxic particles that contaminate the soil
and waterways and enter the food chain when animals accidentally ingest them.". This goes to show
that those

Although plastic bags, as well as paper bags, can be recycled in order to postpone running out of
resources, the creation and destruction of the plastic releases CO2 or (Carbon Dioxide) into the air
damaging the Earth's atmosphere along with all the other horrific machinery emitting the same toxic
and harmful gas. This is more popularly known as "Plastic Pollution", one of the biggest causes of
climate change. "An estimated 12 million barrels of oil are used to manufacture the 30 million
plastic bags that Americans use each year." (Durkin, 1 bag at a time) Factories creating and
destroying these plastic bags have the some of the highest rates of CO2 emission. No matter how the
plastic bag is disposed of, either way it will end up releasing the catastrophic chemicals that are
killing our planet.
Recycling is a great attempt to preserve our natural resources, but it does not even come close to
saving the living creatures of Mother Earth herself. The build up of plastic bags and other
unnecessary items in our oceans is a greater cause of ecosystem disruption. An estimated 100,000
marine animals die each year due to suffocating on or ingesting plastic bags. Increased levels of
man–made pollutants show up in areas like the Arctic, affecting Polar bears, other arctic mammals,
melting polar ice caps and adding to the stress of all climate change and global warming. All plastic

Why Plastic Bags Should Be Banned
Banning Plastic Bags
The plastic bag is an innovative invention all around the world. It makes the world more convenient
and because of this convenience, the plastic bag is multi purposeful and is used widespread such as
in stores, houses, restaurants, etc. However, the problem is that a lot of people do not know that
plastic bags have many harmful effects. First of all, plastic bags cause environmental damages, and
produces cataclysmic events in wildlife. For example, plastic bags become litter after they are found
in waterways, parks, beaches, and streets. Plastic bags also effect air when burned, infusing the air
with toxins. Something that many may not think about when they think of plastic bags is the harmful
effects it brings to the animals. The death of countless animals such as dolphins, turtles, penguins,
etc. is due to the production of plastic bags. The ocean is home to thousands of species and ocean
wonders but there is so often trash thrown into the sea that disrupts the life beneath the water. Those
animals ingest plastic bags and ultimately die, while another animal comes back and eats that dead
animal which results in a chain reaction that is going to come back around and bite humans back.
The public should realize that plastic bags have adverse effects, and those effects will be worse than
the convenience of using a plastic bag.

Persuasive Essay On Plastic Bags
A pile of plastic bags sits on the floor from the last shopping trip. A trip that consisted of long lines
and other customers' screaming children that needed their nap. What do you do with the bags?
Maybe throwing them away would be easy, but why waste those hard–earned plastic bags if you
could do something with them? If you make your monstrous pile of bags into a rope, they won't be
wasted. A rope can be used for many things including tug–of–war, tire swing, etc.
If you want to start a project, it would be good to have the materials. You will need heaps of plastic
grocery bags in order to make a rope from them. The exact number of bags depends on how long
you want your rope to be. You will also need scissors. When you start the project, you will need
some floor space.
Now that you have all of your materials, you can start preparing to make the rope. Take nine bags
and lay them on the floor next to you. Now pick up one bag. There should be a seam under each of
the handles of the bag. Find both seams. If there are no seams, then the next part will be a little more
difficult.
For this part, you can either use your hands or pick up your scissors. Rip or cut at the top of the
seam under the plastic bag's handles and continue down to the base of the bag. Do NOT cut the base
of the bag. Cutting it will weaken your rope and make it harder to work with the plastic. Now that
you have finished one side of the bag, do the same for the other side of the bag. Once this is done,

The Bag It : The Dangers Of Plastics?
Every time my family and I go grocery shopping we end up having numerous plastic bags after
unloading the food. For the most part we save these bags, keeping them underneath the sink in case
we need to use them for something else later on. However, we have done such a great job at saving
these bags that they have begun to take up space. As such, we have recently started throwing most of
them in the garbage. After watching the Bag It documentary in my English class I begin to realize
how much plastic we actually end up throwing away just in these plastic bags, and how wasteful it
is.
It has become rather common today to dismiss this danger of plastic bags to our environment. In the
documentary Bag It, Jeb Berrier makes a strong case against the use of plastic bags and plastic in
general. Jeb Berrier claims he is just an "average guy", who has a passion for this subject and wants
to make a change in the world. Although he does admit that plastic is quite useful, he mainly argues
against it. He takes a good hour and a half to inform the viewers of the danger of plastic in many
areas of life, and how exactly we can fix it. Filled with many statistics, interviews and video clips of
emotionally triggering subjects, Berrier makes a very convincing argument. His use of catchy,
almost silly music, makes his documentary less academic and allows the average person to relate
more efficiently to the somewhat dry subject.

Pros And Cons Of Sleeping Bag
There are many factors to consider when searching for a child's sleeping bag. Since kids have a
lower body mass than grown–ups, an adult sleeping bag is out of the question. Get one too big, and
heat will escape. Grab one too small, and your child will feel uncomfortable.
Usually, there are two types of sleeping bags: indoor and outdoor. Indoor styles are light, making
them perfect for nap time, sleepovers, and movie night. Outdoor models contain heavier materials
and hold more cushion to make outdoor sleeping bearable.
Naturally, the criteria for an indoor sleeping bag will differ from one designed for outdoor slumber.

Speech On Plastic Bag Bags
According to some estimates, between 500 billion and a trillion plastic grocery bags are used
globally each year. The WorldWatch Institute states it takes 430,000 gallons of oil to produce 100
million plastic bags – so that comes to a staggering 4,300,000 gallons or 16,277,270 liters of oil to
make a trillion bags. It's been great to see a concerted effort by many individuals, some towns and
states to ban disposable plastic shopping bags; but even if you have e started to kick the disposable
plastic bag habit, chances are you may still have a few dozen or hundred floating around the place.
Plastic bag litter isn't just unsightly, in a marine environment plastic bags are particularly
destructive, killing at least 100,000 birds, whales, seals and turtles every year according to

This is an old superstition, which says that we should not keep our handbags on the floor, if we want

wealth. People believe if you want to keep your money, you have to respect them. A symbolic way
of respecting wealth is to put our purses in a nice place like on the table, on a chair or on our lap.
Are people from Colombian heritage more superstition then others? For example, there is the

that this superstition is deeply rooted in many other cultures. I remember upon first meeting, when

decrease its usage. The opposing side may say that alternatives I have given such as reusable bags,
provide additional harm to the environment than plastic bags because of they are produced.
However, the effect of plastic bags massively outweighs that of reusable bags because reusable bags
are being utilized consistently and they're not thrown out so they aren't harming any animals. Plastic
bags are mostly being thrown out, and that harms the environment way more. To provide evidence
on the significant aid the plastic bag ban or fee has brought, the Upfront magazine article "Should
There Be a Fee on Plastic Bags?" indicates , "It's hard to believe that a small charge could have such
a big impact on protecting our environment. But according to research, the fee has already proven its
effectiveness in reducing plastic or paper bag use in..Washington D.C, Los Angeles, Germany and
England. Some experts predict that a 5–cent fee will lead to a 60–90 percent reduction in the use of
plastic bags in NYC." This piece of evidence brings awareness to the massive assistance plastic bag
fees have brought and will continue to bring to the US and potentially the entire world. The fee has

Should Plastic Bags Be Paid?
Is a fee on plastic bags necessary? Plastic bag fees are not going to help achieve what we want for
the environment. People in the U.S. are going to have trouble paying groceries if they have to pay
for the bags too. Plastic bags are a problem but there is more plastic out there that should not be
made anymore. If people want a change in the environment then we should recycle the plastic bags
because if we put on fee on plastic bags people are not going to want to buy them but then reusable
bags produce more waste and use up more resources. There should not be a fee on plastic bags
because bag fees hurt low–income Americans who are already struggling, bag fees are not going to
help achieve our goals, and plastic bags are not a litter issue. One important reason that there should
not be a fee on plastic bags is that bag fees hurt low–income americans. According to Lee Califf
"Hundreds of dollars will be taken out of the pockets of low–middle–income residents –who already
struggle to pay for groceries– and given to retailers." What the author is saying here is bag fees hurt
people who struggle to pay for groceries because they won't be able to afford to pay for the bags too.
We should try to help the environment and ourselves by doing something that a majority of people

alternative products such as reusable bags, produce more waste and consume more resources than

Branding and Marketing Strategy for a Proposed Business...
As the product manager for Spirou Biodegradable Garbage Bags, my team and I will start
formulating the branding strategy by first performing a brand assessment. This will involve a lot of
research on current and prospective consumers, transaction trends related to the trash bag market
and service quality. We need to determine the business environment including competition, suppliers
and economic forecasts. The assessment is needed to determine what the value our product has for
our customers, our competition, and the consumer perception of the competition and our company.
We can see the value of our bags in comparison to the current drawstring plastic bags on the market.
The technologically advanced bags we offer are our key selling point, our value, our distinction.
Second I will need to determine our brand promise. The brand promise should achievable and one
that connects our strategy, our people, our positioning, and our customers. We have determined our
differentiating factor; the bags disintegrate into dust together with the garbage inside them. Using
this factor, we can develop the 'promise' we will deliver to our intended consumers: no more full
bags ripping or hauling bags to the trash barrels, an easy way to make the environment cleaner, no
more overflowing landfills. And the company MUST deliver on the brand promise.
Third we develop the brand blueprint. The brand blueprint will aid us in communicating our promise

Advantages Of Rolling Bags For Nursing School
Best rolling bag for nursing students What are the best rolling bags for nursing students? To be
honest, nursing books are heavy and numerous. Although it might not be necessary to carry all
books along to school, there will surely be times when you must tote several of them at once.
Moreover, while on campus, you will probably do a lot of walking and it will not be easy toting
heavy books. Research shows, carrying heavy books in small back packs on a constant basis can
lead to long–term back ache. I doubt if anyone will want to begin a nursing career with prolong back
pain issues. This unnecessary pain can simply be avoided by using the proper tote bag. Although
there are a lot of choices in tote bags for nursing student, not all bags are equal. Thus, when
purchasing a rolling bag for nursing school, functionality should be the first thing to consider. You
should ask yourself the following questions; will the bag hold a reasonable number of books? is
there enough space for other stuffs such as laptops, tablets and nursing materials? You really need to
consider these questions because most rolling bags available in the market do not have enough space
to hold laptops and tablets. In addition, you must check if there are side pockets and areas of storage
for extras such as keys, smartphones and water bottles. Another important quality to watch out for is
durability. Some more things to think about. Is the bag made of high quality material that will serve

Plastic Bags And Its Effects On The Universe
Nowadays, the use of plastic bags has increased. It can be seemed that plastic bags are really needed
by everyone especially for their daily life. Comparing to the past in the early 1950s when people still
used the paper bags instead of plastic bags. Literally, plastic bags are very useful for human, but at
the same time it is also bring disadvantages. Plastic is made from fossil fuel sources, such as natural
gas and petroleum. It is not biodegradable and it will always exist. This is why the excessive use of
plastic bags poses an adverse effect on the universe. Besides, it remains toxic even after they break
down. Even for each country, approximately about 6 billion plastic bags were consumed.(William T.
Fujioka,2008) According to China Trade News, over 1 trillion plastic bags are used every year
worldwide. Production of plastic bags required the usage of petroleum and natural gas. Both of them
are non–renewable resources that effect the reliance on foreign supplier becomes increased. Thus, it
can cause the destruction of fragile habitats and ecosystem due to exploration and drilling activities.
It consumed more resources for the energy to produce and carry away the disposable bags. Other
than that, it is also creates global warming discharge. It has about 46,000 pieces of floating plastic in
every square of the ocean. (UN,2006) Besides, it will destroy waterways and soil from entering the

Argumentative Essay On Plastic Bags
The Plastic Bag Takeover As the United States deals with the overwhelming amounts of waste
building up, Nitin et al explain that "plastics take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to biodegrade"
once they are discarded (Nitin). Changes in recycling methods can no longer keep up with the
exorbitant amount of waste produced in the United States. This is why some states choose to take
their initiative one step further by placing either fees or a ban on the use of plastic bags. Due to the
enormous waste the United States produces on a daily basis and the negative outcomes of this trash
including adverse health effects, harmful impacts on nature, and the exponential piling of trash in
landfills, the US government should ban plastic bags.
When citizens discard plastic bags in the outdoors, they unknowingly contribute to the spreading of
powerful illnesses. Through the pooling of rainwater, thrown away bags contribute to the
transmission of mosquito born illnesses, such as Malaria (Trilling). Given the wet, warm
environment that a littered plastic bag provides, mosquitoes receive the ideal setting they need to
breed. With increased mosquito breeding, American's are left more susceptible to harmful illnesses.
One simple way to reduce the littering of plastic bags, is to make plastic bags harder to access in the
first place. Additionally, the creation of plastic bags commonly involves many harmful chemicals
that in turn play a role in causing detrimental health effects and conditions. Substances in plastic
products designed to enhance performance, and make them desirable to consumers, often contain
harmful ingredients (Ecology Center). Plastic bags are a commonly overlooked destructive item that
might contribute to health problems. When foods are packaged alongside plastic, "chemicals migrate
from the plastic packaging to the foods," one example being the chemical Polyethylene, a substance
suspected to be a carcinogen (Ecology Center). The government has a duty to protect its citizens and
one form of protection is keeping people away from especially harmful chemicals and substances.
The only way to ensure citizens do not come into contact with these harmful substances on a daily
basis through plastic bags is to ban them

Persuasive Essay On Plastic Bags
Americans have gone to grocery stores since 1916, but it wasn't until 1979 when the plastic grocery
bag we know today came about (Laskow, Sarah). Plastic bags became popular in the 1970's as an
alternative to paper bags; the idea was that using less paper would result in less trees being cut
down, (Robin Scher). Polyethylene, the material plastic bags are made from, "comes from ethane, a
byproduct of natural gas extraction and a major contributor to global warming," except when it is
being frozen and transformed into plastic bags (Robin Scher). Making plastic bags is a great way to
use less trees and contribute to helping ending global warming. Though plastic bags are both
convenient and reusable, communities must consider the detrimental effects of their use when
deciding whether or not to ban them. When considering what to pack your groceries in it most likely
that plastic bags come to mind. Off the top of one's head it is understandable why that is the case;
plastic bags are reusable, durable, and accessible. Plastic bags have the potential to have a prolong
lifespan. They can be used as a way to transport groceries out of the store, then used again as a trash
bag in the shoppers home, or used to pack other things such as: dirty or wet clothes, and food, ("The
Good and the Bad of Plastic Bag Bans"). When plastic bags are used as many times as possible they
are the ideal choice for the shopper and environments. Plastic bags are also quite durable; the
average plastic grocery bag can hold up to seventeen pounds (360: Reusable Bags). This is essential
when packing an abundance of groceries, because one bag can hold so much weight, less bags have
to be used in the grand scheme of things. The durability of a plastic bag is due to the material it's
made from. Plastic is waterproof, dirtproof, and stain proof. This is absolute for citizens because it
allows their goods inside the bag to stay, dry, clean, and new no matter the conditions outside the
bag. Thus making them very convenient for everyday use. Another benefit plastic bags have on
communities is they are produced from waste products ("Paper or Plastic?"). This means that once
someone has gotten all their use from a bag, it is then

It is not just the sea animals, but also land animals. The United Nations Environmental Program
released a report in 2006 stating , "80% of ocean pollution is land– based. This means that no matter
how far from the ocean that you live, an improperly disposed of plastic bag will eventually reach the

by the winds. The " urban tumbleweeds" is a common referred to name for plastic bags that cannot

Bag Tax In America
To whom it may concern, Since the 1960s, polyethylene bags has been a catalyst for the American
economy and have directly effected employment opportunities in the United States. In recent years,
the plastic bag industry created over 25,000 new jobs. However, it has made headlines due to the
detrimental effects it has on the environment. With such risks, critics claim that it is crucial to
control this activity through a bag tax. In this letter I will inform you about the damage this law
presents and a possible solution to this issue. The implementation of a bag tax will put many out of
work and devastate many businesses in America. For instance, the National Center for Policy

Along with the economic complications, a bag tax will make conditions for the working much more
difficult. The reason I say that is because a family who cannot afford groceries will have to pay
more, thus making their living conditions worse. The United States Department of Agriculture
reported that there are 17.5 million families in the United States that are food insecure. This means
that they have difficulties finding a direct source of food. So with the implementation of a bag tax
these families will have to compete with increasing food prices and a tax that will make their next
meal unaffordable. In conclusion, the integration of a bag tax will make the accessibility to food
difficult for working class Americans. The last and final reason as to why application of a bag tax is
unnecessary is because it aims to combat pollution, but it fails to do so. The Environment Protection
Agency reported that plastic bags account for only 0.03% of the United States' total waste. This
means that the law will not decrease littering. This is prevalent in areas such as Washington D.C.

Should Plastic Bags Be Ethical?
Many other places around the world have either decided to charge a fee for plastic bags or ban them
entirely, but what's the better option? Is it ethical for businesses in California to charge citizens for
plastic bags to fund government environmental projects? Well plastic bags are an ethical issue
because it's a problem in the world where a person and an organization can or one has to choose a
position. This can then be evaluated if it is either ethical or unethical. Yes, this issue has been
damaging to someone and to some groups, mostly those who help protect the environment, see
plastic bags cause harm to the environment endangering those animals that live in it.
The cause of this issue is that businesses want to charge for plastic bags when people could do other
things such as ban bags entirely in California. People are involved in deciding ultimately if
California should charge a ten–cent fee for the use of a plastic bag that's more heavy duty. The
consequences of not solving the problem are that people are most likely to cause harm to the
environment with how many plastic bags they are using. The heavy duty plastic bags that they are
charging would cause more damage since its more, plastic that's put into one plastic bag.
It is unethical that businesses in California want to charge citizens for plastic bags to fund
government environmental projects when instead one could ban them, fees produce negative

The War On Plastic Bags
The war on plastic bags is an intense and drawn out debate. It is obvious that the cons of plastic bag
usage outweigh the pros, yet our Earth is still being consumed by the infamous plastic bag. Many
people have voiced their opinions on whether or not plastic bags should be taxed, although the input
of their opinions does nothing but stir the pot since no one can reach a general consensus on how to
handle this increasing dispute. Consumer behavior also contributes to deciding upon the plastic bag
debate. Consumer's heavy dependence on these bags has a distinct impact on the environment and
all of Earths living things. Even though plastic bags can be recycled and reused, the immense
overuse of the bags and damage they cause to the environment are reasons for retail stores to
implement a bag tax.
Human's dependence on plastic bags have grown greatly in just the past couple of years. In 2013,
8.5 million tons of plastic bags were used and not properly recycled resulting in well over 8 million
tons of plastic bag waste. This amount of plastic bags used was expected to grow 10% within the 5
years following 2013 which would result in 9.35 million tons of plastic bag usage and waste (Usage
of Plastic Bags and Health Hazards 1). The lack of recycling centers and people willing to recycle
them causes only 8% of all the plastic bags being discarded to be successfully recycled. In fact, 4.4

Bag It : Documentary Review
"Bag It" Documentary Review
Every time my family and I go grocery shopping we end up having numerous plastic bags after
unloading the food. For the most part we save these bags, keeping them underneath the sink in case
we need to use them for something else later on. However, we have done such a great job at saving
these bags that they have begun to take up space. As such we have recently started throwing most of
them in the garbage. After watching the Bag It documentary in my English class I begin to realize
how much plastic we actually end up throwing away just in these plastic bags, and how wasteful it
is.
It has become rather common today to dismiss this danger of plastic bags to our environment. In the

time to do research and show the world what the danger truly is with all this plastic. Yes, sure there

that. To bring this big problem to the light, he covers three main topics: Single use disposable items
and the effect on our environment, ocean health, and human health.
The first question Jeb answers is why there is so much plastic around the world in our environment.
It starts with the mass production of single use disposable items. A "single use disposable item" is
simply an item that you can only use once and then it is disposed of. Berrier points out how so many
of our items we buy in today's society is, or is wrapped in this kind of single plastic. For example, as
the main issue of his documentary, plastic bags are single use disposable items, and are found in
almost every single store in America. In this part of the presentation he uses logos to get his point
across. Presenting facts such as this one: "the United States uses roughly– estimates are about 100
billion plastic bags per a year", which makes his argument more convincing. However, he does not
cite his sources very well, and never tells us where these facts are coming from, making his claims a
little less credible. While discussing this, he shows how even apples can

Bag Mistakes Essay

  • 1. Bag Mistakes Essay Avoid The Top 10 backpack diaper bags Mistakes Caring a baby is a journey, the art of dealing with the diapers, and other stuff can be an undertaking. Most parents are doing an incredible job, the last thing they need is getting it wrong with the baby. Your lifestyle backpack diaper bag selection can be not only time–consuming but also an intuitive activity. This is because kids can be unpredictable; you want the best for them to handle daily meltdowns and blowouts. When we had our first son, having to deal with impromptu poops while outdoors, was quite a steep learning curve. But, time revealed to us what we didn't know all along; the backpack diaper mistakes. This is probably what most new parents would love to learn and a little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Don't buy into eye–catching looks at the expense of applications. It can be frustrating buying a bag with small hard–to–reach pockets. Ensure your baby's bag comes with many compartments large enough to store all the baby stuff, especially when outdoors. At some point, we bought a small bag, after packing; we still couldn't accommodate a hand sanitizer or drinking water. It did cost us extra dollars for a large size ultimately. Mistake 2: Poor cleaning As a caring parent, there is a likelihood of having your backpack diaper bag stained. This is why you don't want to find yourself without an instant stain remover. Include odor removers to avoid bad smell from all the potential messes that come with handling the little ones Remember to clean the bag regularly. For us, we preferred once every five months to avoid it fading quickly and retain its shiny look. Opt for those easy to clean inside and outside. Mistake 3: Wrong maintenance There are other potential maintenance practices most parents miss to embrace when handling a backpack diaper bag. This includes too much exposure to sunlight which might lead to fading and durability in the long ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Environmental Effects Of Plastic Bags I decided to write this report after watching a documentary called, "Plastic Bags Environmental Impacts" on YouTube. The video showed poor innocent animals wrapped up in plastic bags and it made me feel heartbroken. So I wanted to find out what other issues do plastic bags create and if we really need to ban them, or if we need to find other alternatives, or just manage our use of them. Plastic bags have a benefit 'convenience', as most people nowadays use plastic bags for all sort of things e.g. moving things, reusing for shopping, art and crafts which show people are reusing them seen they are so convenient. My hypothesis is: Plastic bags are causing a problem and together we need to find a solution. My key questions are: What are the issues that plastic bags create? Are their environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic bags? How can we manage the use of plastic bags? What are the issues that plastic bags create? There are a wide range of issues around plastic bags, including impacts on animal welfare. According to an article I found on healthguidance.org "One of the greatest problems is that an estimated 300 million plastic bags end up in the Atlantic Ocean alone." So just think of the poor sea life that go hunting and mistake a floating plastic bag for a meal and end up suffocating and experiencing a slow, painful death. "86% of all known species of sea turtles have had reported problems of entanglement or ingestion of marine debris including plastic bags" (post ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags Since 1985, America has been using plastic bags due to them being waterproof and having handles making them easier to carry goods. Paper and plastic has always been a huge controversy in super markets through the preference of customers. Some customers prefer having the paper bags standing up straight in the trunks of their cars. Other customers prefer the plastic bags because of the handles making it easier to walk home and carry their goods. Although both preferences are fine, all customers know the dangers of the plastic bag. Banning plastic bags from stores and replacing them with only paper or reusable bags, will reduce corruption of organic products, reduce CO2 emissions from creation and destruction of the plastic and prevent harm upon Earth and its creatures. Plastic bags were first designed in 1965 by a Swedish company which later became known as the "T–shirt plastic bag"; made from high density polyethylene, but It was in the late 1970s when Plastic bags first began to terrorize the well being of humanity. More and more supermarkets in America began handing out plastic bags as if they were candy on Halloween. The more plastic bags humans use, the more natural resources are being destroyed. There are two different types of plastic bags that one may find in any supermarket, high density polyethylene (HDPE) or low density polyethylene (LDPE). There isn't much difference between them besides the fact that LDPE would be the tougher and more durable bags you might find in department stores as well as any regular supermarket. They both require the same materials for creation such as oil, gas and coal (fossil fuels). Fossil fuels are the prehistoric resources formed by plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. These fuels won't be replaced for another millions of years to come, that is why they're called "non– renewable" resources. Plastic is very valuable, but humans decide that is more than okay to litter these valuable resources than to recycle it and prevent some of the corruption and over–usage of resources we may not have in a distant future. Although plastic bags, as well as paper bags, can be recycled in order to postpone running out of resources, the creation and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Descriptive Essay On A Bag For most college students, carrying some form of bag is a necessity. Depending on the person, they might carry a backpack, purse, messenger bag, tote, or something else. Bags are sometimes a way to express yourself, and sometimes appearance doesn't matter rather the functionality of it. Many people chose their bag of choice based on these ideas. For myself, my choice of bag was due to convenience and I'll explain. The backpack I use currently, I have had since my sophomore year of high school. It is a grey JanSport backpack, that has one large pocket and one small pocket. It has a giant hole in the side from years of use and to put it nicely I am to frugal to buy a new one. Until, the straps breakoff I will probably continue to use it. In high school I chose this backpack based on appearance (Grey, which is my favorite color) and the popularity of the brand. Today, I don't care much about the appearance, as many could gather from the giant hole. I use it because I have it and its still functional. Laptop: My laptop is a necessity for me and that is why I always carry it in my backpack. I'm often on campus most of the day and I use the laptop to work on assignments, quizzes, watch Netflix between classes, or browse the internet. Binder: My binder is a ½ inch white organizational tool. I use it to hold hard copies of assignments to prevent damage and blank college ruled paper in case I need a piece for an in–class assignment. • 9. Anti Bag Tax I believe that our government should include a tax on plastic grocery bags in our state because it will immensely benefit our community. I think that a bag tax is necessary to help sustain our environment and that it is not reasonable to ask of our community. A bag tax will improve the lives of many in our state in the long run. Plastic bag waste has become a huge issue in our state and must be put to an end. I believe that enforcing a bag tax is the best way to do this. Along almost every street or highway, you will find plastic bags strewn about carelessly. This is very unsettling and unattractive for the people coming in and out of our state. If we were to place a bag tax, people would be more likely to save their bags, or use less, limiting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Plastic Bags There's logic missing in the battle of bags now raging in the California Legislature. People are tired of flimsy plastic bags hanging around trees or finding bags swimming with the fishes. The majority of the United States has started to create efficient ways to prevent the harmful doings of global warming. California, as a matter of fact, has already started the path towards a cleaner environment, known as proposition 67, where they proposed a ban on plastic bags in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide intake and environmental waste and public stores would charge customers 10 cents per bag. Although the proposal to charge 10 cents for plastic bags may create a state of bacteria–collecting reusable bags, it is the closest step to a cleaner future because it will protect the environment from degradation, prevent global warming, and decrease environmental waste. Charging 10 cents for a plastic bag may seem silly, however, it is a much bigger concept towards earth's future, such as degradation. Another iceberg broke off of Antarctica, resulting from warmer ocean waters eroding the icy tongue of Antarctica, leading to higher sea levels, debating whether people should be worried or not. The article, "An iceberg the size of Delaware just broke off of Antarctica", by The LA Times, entitles, "The iceberg, which at around 1 trillion tons is one of the largest on record, poses no immediate threat to sea levels. But scientists say the break may have altered the profile of the continent's western peninsula for decades to come and offers a preview of what degradation might do to marine ice shelves". This quote explains that the iceberg may not raise sea levels, but may offer a preview of degradation. In order to stop anymore icebergs going rogue, bold actions should be taken into place. Therefore, charging 10 cents a bag may be the start of a So yes, maybe charging 10 cents isn't so silly after all.cleaner future, and an end to a substandard ecosystem. Global warming is the main concern to earth's ecosystem. People think it is no big deal, others think it's just a myth to scare people for their energy hogging ways. The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags Mangu–Ward discusses the rise and fall of plastic bags in her article, Plastic bags are good for you: what prohibitionists get wrong about one of modernity's greatest inventions. In the 1960s, the invention of the plastic bag began to spread to supermarkets around the world. Plastics bags were cheaper and lighter than paper bags. At the same time, they were also durable and very useful. The plastic bags were a very important invention that helped change the way people shop. It wasn't long, however, that people began to realize the environmental impact of plastic bags. The plastic bag was soon replaced by the reusable bag and many cities began taxing or even banning plastic bags. Fears over the environment resulted in the downfall of the plastic bag. Mangu–Ward's article is an example of People making emotional discussions instead of logical discussions. At the time plastic bags were introduced, they offered many advantages over the other options shoppers had at the grocery store. Plastic bags are very affordable. Because plastic bags are affordable, more stores began to stock them as a cheaper alternative to paper bags. The more stores that stocked plastic bags, the more people started to use plastic bags. When shoppers choose plastic bags over paper bags, the stores save money because they are spending less on bags. Plastic bags were also more appealing to the shopper than paper bags. Plastic bags are thin and flexible, which means they can be stored very easily. Plastic bags are lighter than paper bags, waterproof, unlike paper bags, and strong enough to carry most groceries. Another advantage is that shoppers could carry many plastic bags at once, unlike paper bags. Shoppers can reuse their plastic bags for things besides groceries, as well. For example, shoppers can use plastic bags as trash bags, or bags to put wet swimsuits or dirty laundry in. Because plastic bags are affordable, physically better than paper bags, and could be reused; many shoppers and stores began using plastic over paper. Though plastic bags had many advantages, there were some problems. When plastic bags first started spreading to supermarkets, they became controversial after children started suffocating on them. It lets out lots of CO2 into the air with the production of it. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that if let out too much at one time can hurt the planet. Not only do plastic bags produce pollution while being made, but also when they are decomposing. Plastic bags go on to last for up to 10–1000 years. That is possibly 1000 years that a plastic bag goes on to add the huge amount of trash in the world. Although plastic bags take so long to decompose they do eventually break down. Exposure to a lot of sunlight and wind will also speed up the process of the decomposition of plastic bags. The breaking down of plastic bags seems like a good thing, however it is the complete opposite. Plastic bags are broken down into microscopic particles that are toxic. Those toxic particles then go on to hurt the environment. • 25. Essay On Plastic Bags Since 1985, America has used plastic bags due to them being waterproof and having handles making them easier to carry goods. Paper and plastic have always been a huge controversy in supermarkets through the preference of customers. Some customers prefer having the paper bags standing up straight in the trunks of their cars. Other customers prefer the plastic bags because of the handles making it easier to walk home and carry their goods. This is more popularly known as "Plastic Pollution", one of the biggest causes of climate change. • 29. Persuasive Essay On Plastic Bags A pile of plastic bags sits on the floor from the last shopping trip. A trip that consisted of long lines and other customers' screaming children that needed their nap. What do you do with the bags? Maybe throwing them away would be easy, but why waste those hard–earned plastic bags if you could do something with them? If you make your monstrous pile of bags into a rope, they won't be wasted. A rope can be used for many things including tug–of–war, tire swing, etc. If you want to start a project, it would be good to have the materials. You will need heaps of plastic grocery bags in order to make a rope from them. The exact number of bags depends on how long you want your rope to be. You will also need scissors. When you start the project, you will need some floor space. Now that you have all of your materials, you can start preparing to make the rope. Take nine bags and lay them on the floor next to you. Now pick up one bag. There should be a seam under each of the handles of the bag. Find both seams. If there are no seams, then the next part will be a little more difficult. For this part, you can either use your hands or pick up your scissors. Rip or cut at the top of the seam under the plastic bag's handles and continue down to the base of the bag. Do NOT cut the base of the bag. Cutting it will weaken your rope and make it harder to work with the plastic. • 31. The Bag It : The Dangers Of Plastics? Every time my family and I go grocery shopping we end up having numerous plastic bags after unloading the food. For the most part we save these bags, keeping them underneath the sink in case we need to use them for something else later on. However, we have done such a great job at saving these bags that they have begun to take up space. As such, we have recently started throwing most of them in the garbage. After watching the Bag It documentary in my English class I begin to realize how much plastic we actually end up throwing away just in these plastic bags, and how wasteful it is. It has become rather common today to dismiss this danger of plastic bags to our environment. In the documentary Bag It, Jeb Berrier makes a strong case against the use of plastic bags and plastic in general. Jeb Berrier claims he is just an "average guy", who has a passion for this subject and wants to make a change in the world. Although he does admit that plastic is quite useful, he mainly argues against it. He takes a good hour and a half to inform the viewers of the danger of plastic in many areas of life, and how exactly we can fix it. Filled with many statistics, interviews and video clips of emotionally triggering subjects, Berrier makes a very convincing argument. His use of catchy, almost silly music, makes his documentary less academic and allows the average person to relate more efficiently to the somewhat dry subject. People in the U.S. are going to have trouble paying groceries if they have to pay for the bags too. Plastic bags are a problem but there is more plastic out there that should not be made anymore. If people want a change in the environment then we should recycle the plastic bags because if we put on fee on plastic bags people are not going to want to buy them but then reusable bags produce more waste and use up more resources. There should not be a fee on plastic bags because bag fees hurt low–income Americans who are already struggling, bag fees are not going to help achieve our goals, and plastic bags are not a litter issue. Literally, plastic bags are very useful for human, but at the same time it is also bring disadvantages. Plastic is made from fossil fuel sources, such as natural gas and petroleum. It is not biodegradable and it will always exist. This is why the excessive use of plastic bags poses an adverse effect on the universe. Besides, it remains toxic even after they break down. • 57. Argumentative Essay On Plastic Bags The Plastic Bag Takeover As the United States deals with the overwhelming amounts of waste building up, Nitin et al explain that "plastics take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to biodegrade" once they are discarded (Nitin). Changes in recycling methods can no longer keep up with the exorbitant amount of waste produced in the United States. This is why some states choose to take their initiative one step further by placing either fees or a ban on the use of plastic bags. Due to the enormous waste the United States produces on a daily basis and the negative outcomes of this trash including adverse health effects, harmful impacts on nature, and the exponential piling of trash in landfills, the US government should ban plastic bags. When citizens discard plastic bags in the outdoors, they unknowingly contribute to the spreading of powerful illnesses. Through the pooling of rainwater, thrown away bags contribute to the transmission of mosquito born illnesses, such as Malaria (Trilling). Given the wet, warm environment that a littered plastic bag provides, mosquitoes receive the ideal setting they need to breed. With increased mosquito breeding, American's are left more susceptible to harmful illnesses. One simple way to reduce the littering of plastic bags, is to make plastic bags harder to access in the first place. Additionally, the creation of plastic bags commonly involves many harmful chemicals that in turn play a role in causing detrimental health effects and conditions. Substances in plastic products designed to enhance performance, and make them desirable to consumers, often contain harmful ingredients (Ecology Center). Plastic bags are a commonly overlooked destructive item that might contribute to health problems. When foods are packaged alongside plastic, "chemicals migrate from the plastic packaging to the foods," one example being the chemical Polyethylene, a substance suspected to be a carcinogen (Ecology Center). The government has a duty to protect its citizens and one form of protection is keeping people away from especially harmful chemicals and substances. The only way to ensure citizens do not come into contact with these harmful substances on a daily basis through plastic bags is to ban them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. Persuasive Essay On Plastic Bags Americans have gone to grocery stores since 1916, but it wasn't until 1979 when the plastic grocery bag we know today came about (Laskow, Sarah). Plastic bags became popular in the 1970's as an alternative to paper bags; the idea was that using less paper would result in less trees being cut down, (Robin Scher). Polyethylene, the material plastic bags are made from, "comes from ethane, a byproduct of natural gas extraction and a major contributor to global warming," except when it is being frozen and transformed into plastic bags (Robin Scher). Making plastic bags is a great way to use less trees and contribute to helping ending global warming. Though plastic bags are both convenient and reusable, communities must consider the detrimental effects of their use when deciding whether or not to ban them. When considering what to pack your groceries in it most likely that plastic bags come to mind. Off the top of one's head it is understandable why that is the case; plastic bags are reusable, durable, and accessible. Plastic bags have the potential to have a prolong lifespan. They can be used as a way to transport groceries out of the store, then used again as a trash bag in the shoppers home, or used to pack other things such as: dirty or wet clothes, and food, ("The Good and the Bad of Plastic Bag Bans"). When plastic bags are used as many times as possible they are the ideal choice for the shopper and environments. Plastic bags are also quite durable; the average plastic grocery bag can hold up to seventeen pounds (360: Reusable Bags). This is essential when packing an abundance of groceries, because one bag can hold so much weight, less bags have to be used in the grand scheme of things. The durability of a plastic bag is due to the material it's made from. Plastic is waterproof, dirtproof, and stain proof. This is absolute for citizens because it allows their goods inside the bag to stay, dry, clean, and new no matter the conditions outside the bag. Thus making them very convenient for everyday use. Another benefit plastic bags have on communities is they are produced from waste products ("Paper or Plastic?"). This means that once someone has gotten all their use from a bag, it is then ... Bag Tax In America To whom it may concern, Since the 1960s, polyethylene bags has been a catalyst for the American economy and have directly effected employment opportunities in the United States. In recent years, the plastic bag industry created over 25,000 new jobs. However, it has made headlines due to the detrimental effects it has on the environment. With such risks, critics claim that it is crucial to control this activity through a bag tax. In this letter I will inform you about the damage this law presents and a possible solution to this issue. Along with the economic complications, a bag tax will make conditions for the working much more difficult. The reason I say that is because a family who cannot afford groceries will have to pay more, thus making their living conditions worse. The United States Department of Agriculture reported that there are 17.5 million families in the United States that are food insecure. This means that they have difficulties finding a direct source of food. So with the implementation of a bag tax these families will have to compete with increasing food prices and a tax that will make their next meal unaffordable. In conclusion, the integration of a bag tax will make the accessibility to food difficult for working class Americans. The last and final reason as to why application of a bag tax is unnecessary is because it aims to combat pollution, but it fails to do so. The Environment Protection Agency reported that plastic bags account for only 0.03% of the United States' total waste. This means that the law will not decrease littering. This is prevalent in areas such as Washington D.C. where the recent bag tax did not combat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Should Plastic Bags Be Ethical? Many other places around the world have either decided to charge a fee for plastic bags or ban them entirely, but what's the better option? Is it ethical for businesses in California to charge citizens for plastic bags to fund government environmental projects? Well plastic bags are an ethical issue because it's a problem in the world where a person and an organization can or one has to choose a position. This can then be evaluated if it is either ethical or unethical. Yes, this issue has been damaging to someone and to some groups, mostly those who help protect the environment, see plastic bags cause harm to the environment endangering those animals that live in it. The cause of this issue is that businesses want to charge for plastic bags when people could do other things such as ban bags entirely in California. People are involved in deciding ultimately if California should charge a ten–cent fee for the use of a plastic bag that's more heavy duty. The consequences of not solving the problem are that people are most likely to cause harm to the environment with how many plastic bags they are using. The heavy duty plastic bags that they are charging would cause more damage since its more, plastic that's put into one plastic bag. It is unethical that businesses in California want to charge citizens for plastic bags to fund government environmental projects when instead one could ban them, fees produce negative reactions, amount of bags being used, and how harmful to the ... • 75. The War On Plastic Bags The war on plastic bags is an intense and drawn out debate. It is obvious that the cons of plastic bag usage outweigh the pros, yet our Earth is still being consumed by the infamous plastic bag. Many people have voiced their opinions on whether or not plastic bags should be taxed, although the input of their opinions does nothing but stir the pot since no one can reach a general consensus on how to handle this increasing dispute. Consumer behavior also contributes to deciding upon the plastic bag debate. Consumer's heavy dependence on these bags has a distinct impact on the environment and all of Earths living things. Even though plastic bags can be recycled and reused, the immense overuse of the bags and damage they cause to the environment are reasons for retail stores to implement a bag tax. Human's dependence on plastic bags have grown greatly in just the past couple of years. In 2013, 8.5 million tons of plastic bags were used and not properly recycled resulting in well over 8 million tons of plastic bag waste. This amount of plastic bags used was expected to grow 10% within the 5 years following 2013 which would result in 9.35 million tons of plastic bag usage and waste (Usage of Plastic Bags and Health Hazards 1). For the most part we save these bags, keeping them underneath the sink in case we need to use them for something else later on. However, we have done such a great job at saving these bags that they have begun to take up space. As such we have recently started throwing most of them in the garbage. After watching the Bag It documentary in my English class I begin to realize how much plastic we actually end up throwing away just in these plastic bags, and how wasteful it is. It has become rather common today to dismiss this danger of plastic bags to our environment. In the documentary Bag It, Jeb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After Berrier saw the problem, he couldn't stop seeing it, plastic was everywhere! So, he took some time to do research and show the world what the danger truly is with all this plastic. Yes, sure there is plastic everywhere, so what? Why is this a problem? Berrier uses this documentary to explain just that. To bring this big problem to the light, he covers three main topics: Single use disposable items and the effect on our environment, ocean health, and human health. The first question Jeb answers is why there is so much plastic around the world in our environment. It starts with the mass production of single use disposable items. A "single use disposable item" is simply an item that you can only use once and then it is disposed of. Berrier points out how so many of our items we buy in today's society is, or is wrapped in this kind of single plastic. For example, as the main issue of his documentary, plastic bags are single use disposable items, and are found in almost every single store in America. In this part of the presentation he uses logos to get his point across. Presenting facts such as this one: "the United States uses roughly– estimates are about 100 billion plastic bags per a year", which makes his argument more convincing. However, he does not cite his sources very well, and never tells us where these facts are coming from, making his claims a little less credible.
