1. Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who does not walk in
the counsel of the wicked or stand in the
way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and
on His law he meditates day and night.

2. Psalm 1:3-4
He is like a tree planted by streams of
water, which yields its fruit in season and
whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he
does prospers. Not so the wicked! They
are like chaff that the wind blows away.

3. Psalm 1:5-6
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the
judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of
the righteous. For the Lord watches over
the way of the righteous, but the way of
the wicked will perish.

4. Overall HAPPINESS doesn’t
come from pursuing after
happiness but is a byproduct
of living rightly before God.
The LACK of happiness in a country driven by
the PURSUIT of happiness tells us we need
to find another way to happiness.
The pursuit of happiness is following the
path of OBEDIENCE and SUBMISSION to
God, and His Anointed One (Ps. 2)
5. The blessed person is first
IDENTIFIED by what he or
she doesn’t do.
Much easier than making a course
CORRECTION is STARTING on the correct
course.
The blessed person turns to God’s word for
DIRECTION.
6. Most of us are already
MEDITATING, we just need
to change the CONTENT of
our meditation.
Blessedness here is not spoken of as a
REWARD from God as much as the RESULT
of a way of living.
Today’s CHOICES produce tomorrow’s
OUTCOMES.

My Next Step Today is to:
( ) Do the home life help (in bulletin)
( ) Meditate on Psalm 1
( ) Reflect on why walking in God’s leads to
happiness (or blessedness)
( ) Evaluate where I turn for “council” or
direction in life
