The SOURCE of wisdom is God.
Proverbs are designed to help us
INTERNALIZE wisdom.
4. A great deal of wisdom
is simply practicing
COMMON SENSE
INSTRUCTION and DISCIPLINE are related
terms; discipline’s focus is instruction.
Wisdom is not mastering Greek
PHILOSOPHY but mastering how to LIVE.
Acting wisely embodies elements of SELF-
CONTROL and SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS
5. GAINING wisdom is not
just for the YOUTH
The FEAR of the Lord is the beginning of
KNOWLEDGE
Rabbis distinguished two types of fear: fear
of RETRIBUTION and REVERENCE
In the NT JESUS is the WISDOM of God we
are to embrace.
