part-time while studying and up to 40 hours per
week during holiday period
– Minimum wage in Ireland - €8.65
– Graduate Visa Scheme allows students to work
full-time for up to 12 months on completion of

level 8 & 9 graduates -12 months). Graduates
can also apply for a green card/work permit.

28. Key Visa File Considerations
• Demonstrate that the Student is a bone fide student, primary
intent is to travel to Ireland to study. The intended programme
of study is consistent with prior educational achievement and
he/she can afford to do so!
• Academic Criteria
– Meets Academic & English Language criteria to follow intended programme
• Financial Criteria
– Pay tuition fees in full in advance
– Demonstrate a minimum of €7K per year of study in liquid assets
– Ability to afford 7K per year on top of regular household outgoings
– Lump sum lodgements must be FULLY explained (eg sale of land)
