2. It is believed that the Aztec and Mayan Civilizations
mashed peanuts to create a thick paste (~950 B.C.).
In 1895, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg created the first
process of making peanut butter, however, with
steamed peanuts instead of roasted ones which
are used nowadays.
