Startup Experience 12 5/ongoing
I am a developer at a startup ISNNetwork (http://isnserver.net)
for building an online server farm to provide an enhanced
gaming experience for advanced users via an online store. We
are already generating revenue and our users appreciate our
better gaming experience! I love the startup experience and
spirit.

Incubator/Internship
Program with ai-
camp.org
11 (Fall
2022) 30/10
I was selected for a 10-week incubator/internship (AI team
tomorrow internship) program for AI DevOps in backend,
frontend, testing, and machine learning. our team built a
GPT-3 based search/summarization engine for
entrepreneurs to identify relevant state-of-the-art AI. My
contribution consisted of designing the backend. I used two
models in the backend. The first model used GPT-3 based text
summarization. The second model consisted of distance
measurement using TFIDF metric between the source and
target summarized document. A presentation of the web
service we built can be found here. I also modeled the
cost of using GPT-3 models for summarization to estimate
the level of revenue (e.g., from advertising) for sustaining
the business of search. Here is the link for my final
presentation. link. I was selected for this internship with a
30% scholarship. The scholarship recognized my previous
experience with AI and my skill levels relative to the other
participants. Part of the selection criteria was my
performance in the previous summer internship.

AI Summer Camp
11
(Summer
2023) 50/3
I was selected for the advanced (Level-3) AI summer camp at
AI-Camp.org with a 30% scholarship. Our team built a
recommender system. Our prototype searched a large
repository of new feeds based on a user’s browsing
history or based on keywords supplied and recommended
the best-matched articles in the news repository. The
system was configured as a web service. A presentation
of the web service we built can be found here. I built the
backend of the system including the matcher using the
recommender model. The scholarship recognized my
previous experience with AI and my skill levels relative to
the other participants. Part of the selection criteria was my
performance in the previous summer internship.

AI Summer Camp
10
(Summer
2022) 50/3
I was selected for the advanced (Level-1) AI summer camp at
AI-Camp.org with a 30% scholarship. Our team built a system
for identifying pathologies using a deep learning-based
object detection (YOLO) system for medical imagery. The
scholarship recognized my previous experience with AI
and my skill levels relative to the other participants.

Decarbonizing
helmet 9 10/30
I became very alarmed about the global climate crisis and
attempted to formulate a prototype to reduce the carbon
footprint of humans. I was the sole member of the team. My
effort is documented in the folder with the three-part
presentation, estimates of potential impact, and illustrations of
the prototype I built.
Improving
decarbonizing helmet 10 10/10
I improved the decarbonizing helmet during my tenth grade as
part of an independent study with an improved prototype.

Robotics 9 24/32 weeks
Participated in the First Tech Challenge as a single-person
team. Single-handedly built, programmed, tested, and
documented a pick-and-place robot for the competition for
both manual and automatic portions of the contest. Developed
a proposal for community outreach involving robotics for
underprivileged students. My picker-upper robot prototype
built for the competition is described in my engineering
notebook here which describes details of my effort (I was the
sole member of the FTC team) including demo videos of my
robot.

proposal for teaching
robotics to
underprivileged
children 9 1/30 weeks
The community outreach proposal was further developed with
Norwalk schools and the Carver Foundation. This proposal was
funded by FIRST (firstinspires.org).
Robotics 7,8 16/40 weeks
Participated in the First Lego League. Designed, built, tested,
and documented multiple missions for the competition.
Developed a prototype for detecting water pollution using an
image detector from a cellphone camera using an iPhone app.
The team consisted of two team members (Sriram Pankanti and
Srinath Duri). The contents detected in the images determined
the level of water pollution. Our contributions to the pollution
detection project included building the iPhone App, training the
detector using the sample images we annotated, and
evaluating the performance of the detector. Srinath and Sriram
equally contributed to the project and Lego contest. Our team
advanced to the region-level finals. The attached presentation
describes the details of our project including the experimental
results here
Robotics 6 16/40 weeks
Participated in the First Lego League. Designed, built, tested,
and documented multiple missions for the competition.

Developed a prototype for helping blind people navigate using
a camera-based sensor. This is a wearable device using a Kinect
sensor to alert the visually impaired to obstacles. The device
identifies the size, location, and number of obstacles and
provides feedback to the person through sound or touch, such
as vibrations. The team consisted of six members. Our team
advanced to the FLL Razorback finals; our team was recognized
with a Young Innovators for our project. My contributions to
the project included making the Kinect camera interface work.
Here’s the presentation we gave to many stakeholders: link.

Robotics 5 16/40 weeks
Participated in the First Lego League. Designed, built, tested,
and documented multiple missions for the competition.
Explored detecting the intensity of sleep with smart sensors.
The team consisted of nine members. My contribution to the
project was validating the objective performance of the sensor
with subjective feedback from the experimental subjects. The
documentation of our effort can be found here.
Robotics 4 16/40
Participated in the First Lego League. Designed, built, tested,
and documented multiple missions for the competition.
Developed a prototype for helping recycle trash. The team
consisted of nine members. My contribution to the project was
searching research literature and documenting the project.
Music Composition 4,5,6,7,8 1/40
My eighth-grade submission titled “Dance of the Fibonacci”
composed using Python programming based on the Fibonacci
series was selected for presentation at the Darien Young
Composers Concert. The numbers in the Fibonacci series were
used to modulate the pitch and volume of the composition.
Since the numbers in the series are monotonically increasing, I
had to use Modulo functions to make the waveform periodic
and within the bounds. Here’s the recording of the selected
composition: link. My previous selected compositions at the
concert from 4th
to 7th
grade were manually composed by me
and did not have any computer programmatic components.
