7. Three things to consider before you launch your platform
(if you want to be prepared for incorporating UGC into your collections)
1. Context and provenance: Make sure to record appropriate
information that makes understanding the media easier – and will
make it easier to search for.
2. Technical quality and conservation status: Make sure to keep a data
format that will last as long as possible.
3. IP rights conditions: Make sure that the user uploads material of
his/her own only. Make sure to have the user sign over an appropiate
license on upload. And make sure you have created a lasting
accessability to the material that accomodates the license agreed upon.
