2. About Rafer Weigel
Rafer Weigel, a journalist who had previously been honored with
three Emmys before joining KUSI in November 2022, found
himself to be completely at ease in his new environment in Los
Angeles.
In 2005, Rafer played KUSI for the very first time in a live
performance. Since that time, he has established a prosperous
career in major media markets throughout the United States and
garnered a strong reputation for being a reliable source of day-
to-day news.
3. Weigel gained a lot of attention and praise on a national scale
for breaking the news that Jussie Smollett would be charged
with arranging a phony hate crime in Chicago.
He did this while working as an anchor in St. Louis. Something
like this took place in the midst of the upheaval in Ferguson,
