5. Discussion and conclusions
In this paper, we presented an innovative pedagogical approach (ERPSim) using PBL to teach operations
management in the context of integrated information systems that is authentic, ill-structured, student-
centered, and facilitator-driven. The realism of the ERPSim approach brings technology, operations man-
agement, and strategy together in one forum for learning.

Discussion and conclusions In this paper, we presented an innovative pedagogical approach (ERPSim) using PBL to teach operations management in the context of integrated information systems that is authentic, ill-structured, student- centered, and facilitator-driven.
