No Name Woman Summary
TITLE
In the dark of the night, white masked villagers storm a small farm, killing the livestock before circling the small house. They raid the house, smearing blood on the wall and destroy everything in their path. They find a young woman waiting in the corner, clutching protectively her engorged stomach. An old woman with wild eyes sweeps a broom through the air. The invaders chant Pig. Ghost. Pig . (309) No Name Woman by Maxine Hong Kingston, opens with Kingston s mother telling her a family secret: In China your father had a sister who killed herself. She jumped into the family well. We say that your father has all brothers because it is as if she had never been born. Her family has intentionally forgotten this sister because she brought them humiliation by having a child outside of her marriage. Her mother reveals this story to her daughter as a warning, to teach her the right values: what happened to her could happen to you....show more content...Ackerman goes through these sessions in order to understand what happened to her. She wants to know what in her childhood has affected her as an adult. She is trying to find the truth in her own memories. This is a tricky line for her since she is inputting in her perspective as an adult. When hypnosis happens, many times the memories are distorted or completely made up. She may have imaged some parts of her memories to coincide with her adult mind. However, it is the action of trying to get those memories in the first place that shows that her past is affecting the present. She is unsure of what is the truth. During the story she makes it clear that in the sessions she only allows herself to remember w

Into Thin Air Themes
Mortality had remained a conveniently hypothetical concept, an idea to ponder in the abstract. Sooner or later the divestiture of such a privileged innocence was inevitable, but when it finally happened the shock was magnified by the sheer superfluity of the carnage
This is the most important quote because in the book Krakauer realizes his mortality and the others around him. The mortality is a common theme and is explored through the narrative of the hiker Jon Krakauer in this story. He realizes while on the climb the mortality of us and recounts his experiences and the difficulties he had to face while on the climb.. Into thin air chronicles the story of a group of climber climbing mount everest. There was a rule that no matter what...show more content...The people died because they were caught in the middle of a storm while on the highest peak in the world.
The song chosen was appropriate because of the lyrics and tone. The lyrics reflected someone getting caught up in a storm and having a very difficult time like Krakauer. The song s tone is somber and melancholy, reflecting how many of the climbers felt during the incident. The only issue with the sounds is that it is country and that it doesn t blend well with the book. However the writing and tone of the song fit very well.
Phase 3: Chapter 11 is the most important chapter of the book. This chapter is so important because this is where the first person dies. Until this point no one has died and everyone is doing relatively o.k. The reason why this first person dying is so important is because it marks a shift in the book. Things start to take a turn for the worst for the climbers. The climber Chen fal

Unity And Consensus Analysis
Before trying to create and define unity and consensus, the government had to create national projects in order to convince Americans that they need to be united. The reason being that America did not have the best track record when it comes to tolerance and understanding. The Committee on Public Information, Office of Facts and Figures and the Office of War Information were all created in order to spew propaganda for the cause of unity. With the rise of fascism and communism around the world, Americans had an utter fear and anxiety growing in which the government could use to foster the need for consensus. Americans were told that divide and conquer was a Nazi strategy of gaining power in Germany and what contributed to France s fall. Using

Fascism Vs Fascism
Plato once wrote, The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by someone inferior to yourself . It would be impossible for him to guess this quote would be taken very literally among ruler after ruler in history. Unfortunately, not every person who took this piece seriously was the best choice in leadership. Adolf Hitler of Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy were leaders who used elements of fascism in order to promote their vision of a new world. Although they both had similarities in their regimes, they also had great differences in leading their country.
The term fascist is thrown around in politics and heated debates without much respect for how heavy the term truly is. Before diving into the different extents to which fascism was carried out in Italy and Germany, it is important to take a moment and discuss what the term is. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, fascism is a, political philosophy, movement, or regime... that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition , as well as, a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control . With such a harsh definition, some would believe it would be simple to create a framework for all fascist dictators, yet that could not be further from the truth. Although it may be difficult to define fascism to a

Tess Of The D Urbervilles Color Red Essay
Just as most pieces of literature, Thomas Hardy s Tess of the d Urbervilles uses different forms of symbolism throughout the novel. A prominent symbol through the novel, red is used quite often. Hardy uses it to foreshadow, warn, and hint at future events that are important to the theme and in the progression of the novel. Other symbolic devices are used, but the color red s myriad of meanings has proven it to be the best way to trace Tess s journey. The symbolism color red is first introduced in the description of the girls whom ar attending the May Day Dance. The girls, including Tess, are wearing various shades of white. Tess, however, is wearing one piece of red; a ribbon in her hair. The insertion of the red ribbon in Tess s attire is, in a sense, a marker. It s a red flag, if you will, that indicates the beginning of Tess s condemnation. Another example of the color being used to foreshadow Tess s future pain, is in the following passage; The dialect was on her tongue to some extent, despite the village school; the characteristic...show more content...Alec, as previously states, will come to be the bane of her existence. He will come to be intertwined with the color red multiple times. The first time is when he and Tess are out for a stroll. He keeps handing her flowers, giving him the illusion of having a sweet air about him, but by using red, Hardy is able to hint at Alec s true role in Tess s life. Hardy describes that by putting on a sweet façade, Tess is put under a blue narcotic haze. By doing so, Alec is able to keep Tess from thinking that he has the potential to be the one who stood fair to be the blood red ray in the spectr

Biography on Tupac Shakur Essay
Biography on Tupac Shakur
In much the same fashion that Kurt Cobain defined the alternative rock music scene, Tupac Shakur defined the hip hop scene as we know it today. What made Tupac (also known as 2pac) so special was his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he was real and talked the talk, while walking the walk. Since his death, there s been a deluge of speculation on who and why, and even if, but unfortunately still no concrete answers exist for any of these questions. Born June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur, who was named after Tupac Amaru, the Inca Indian that was sentenced to death by the Spaniards, was originally a newborn from Brooklyn, New York. He later was transplanted and grew most of his...show more content...His main notoriety though was through music, and he followed up his successful debut with Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. in 1993, which also was a crossover pop success. In 1995 he released Me Against the World and his last living album release came with All Eyez on Me in 1996.
Shakur s post celebrity run ins with the law were almost as frequent as when he was growing up. In 1992 he was arrested when a stray bullet killed a 6 year old child during a scuffle between Shakur and two others, though later charges against Shakur were dropped. In 1993 Tupac was arrested for allegedly shooting 2 off duty Butts County Atlanta police officers who were harassing a black motorist, but the charges were again dropped. Ironically, one of the Butts County officers was shot in the ass, and in 1998 Deputy Scott Whitwell won a $210,000 lawsuit for the incident. Then, that same year, Tupac was accused of sexual abuse agains

Complex Part Of The Brain Essay
The brain is a very complex part of the human anatomy. It has two hemispheres which control different parts of the body and mental processes like breathing, thinking, and sleeping. The cerebral cortex, which surrounds the two hemispheres, is just one of these complex areas of the brain (Huffman, 2005, p.67). This part of the brain has different functions for motor and sensory data. Four lobes are the part of the brain are that is covered. These lobes have extremely important participating roles in the human system, and without them the body would be unable to do mundane tasks like talking or memorization (Huffman, 2005, p.68). These help to control more functions and sending various messages to parts of the body. Continually, the two hemispheres of the brain have four specific sections which control certain aspects of the brain: frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, and occipital lobe.

Satirical Summary
Kody,
I agree with your observation on adjusting out look on life. All too often I will find myself getting angry at someone else s inconsiderate actions. While I typically associate their actions with the affect it will have on others, I typically neglect to assess the reasons behind someone s actions. I think we are all aware of our human tendencies and consciously try to change them often. We reward our children for being courteous, we value our most thoughtful friends, and thank those who display such compassion. Unfortunately, human nature is engrained in our very own DNA and makes these changes extremely hard to implement and maintain. We must prioritize decisions and actions every day.
I also am a fan of the Satirical Summary. I have

I have

Essay about I m Going to College
I m Going to College
Neither my grandmother, nor any of my great aunts, went on to college. It was too expensive for their family. My great Aunt Nancy, however, did try to take night classes at the University Extension, which was held at her high school. Unfortunately, she was unable to continue paying for these classes, so she left the University Extension program with only twelve credits earned. Aunt Nancy just continued to work at the job she acquired, right out of high school, and work her way up through the ranks at this job. There was no push by her parents to continue her education, and therefore, there was no pressure on her to attend college. Aunt Nancy had once told me, There is great value in a college...show more content... I felt trapped in my first career, my mother explained to me. She knew that in order to pursue another career, going back to college was her only choice. She wanted to figure out what she was good at, and then maybe go out and apply for a job in that field.
My mother did pull me aside one day and stated that while an education is very valuable, you don t need to go to college just to get educated. She was obviously trying to teach me that sometimes people can learn more from their experiences. I try to learn a little something everyday, just by paying attention to the events that go on in my life. Just the other day, I learned that the hardest thing to do is forgive someone for their wrongdoings, but God will always forgive, as long as you ask for it. Friends of mine and I got into a big brawl, and I knew I was the one doing something wrong. I knew that I needed to learn from my mista

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This presentation provides an introduction to quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis and marker-assisted selection (MAS) in plant breeding. The presentation begins by explaining the type of quantitative traits. The process of QTL analysis, including the use of molecular genetic markers and statistical methods, is discussed. Practical examples demonstrating the power of MAS are provided, such as its use in improving crop traits in plant breeding programs. Overall, this presentation offers a comprehensive overview of these important genomics-based approaches that are transforming modern agriculture.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

1. Inventions Of The 1700s Essay
Inventions of the 1700s
Many helpful and life changing items were invented during the 1700's. Did you know the first automobile was invented in 1700? There were many
important inventions made in the 1700s. Without most of these inventions, our lives would be very different. Have you ever wondered what inventions
made in 1700 were life changing? Ben Franklin made many of these important inventions. Cugnot also had an important invention. There were many
other essential inventions and inventors that have influenced our lives today.
Benjamin Franklin is a well known inventor of the 1700s. Born in 1706, Ben Franklin was the most influential inventor of the 1700s. Franklin is best
known for pointing the lightning rod conductor. He also invented the bifocal glasses, and the glass harmonica. Benjamin had also invented the Franklin
stove. It was invented in 1742 and is a metal–lined fireplace that usually stands in the center of any room. Another thing he invented was daylight
savings time. This way we get an extra hour of light in the evening. If Franklin hadn't invented these items, he wouldn't be as popular and may only be
known as a founding father of our country. Franklin was the inventor of many items that are still helpful to us today.

2. Inventions of Nikola Tesla Essay
Most people when asked who influenced modern electricity think Thomas Edison. However, the real mind behind modern electricity was Nikola Tesla.
Nikola Tesla is most commonly known as the inventor of the AC current, or the electricity that is found when you plug something into a wall socket.
Undoubtedly, he was a revolutionary thinker during the 1870s. He opposed the old and imagined the new, battling with Edison in "The Current Wars"
and filing for hundreds of patents. Nikola Tesla was a man of many inventions inventing a practical use for AC current, imagining and establishing
revolutionary technologies, and furthering the scientific applications of radio. Nikola Tesla, despite his many contributions, is still unrecognized in

After this achievement, Nikola set out to make devices that used AC, his most important being the transformer. A transformer is something that
converts a high voltage current to a lower voltage or the other way around. The Tesla Coil, provided this service quickly and efficiently amplifying
low voltages into very high ones through magnetic fields (75). Most of everything we use today requires a low safe voltage to be increased. His
second claim to fame is the hydroelectric generator he built in Niagara Falls in 1895, successfully powering the nearby town of Buffalo (93). He
had an obsession with Niagara Falls at 12 calling it "a terrible waste of water" (23). His successful building of the dam led to Nikola becoming a
famous inventor. Later, in his laboratory in Wardenclyffe, Nikola Tesla was able to create lightning to give a final view at the potential for wirelessly
transferred messages (118). This was one of the last major things he ever did before being shunned by the government due to World War I (125).
Nikola Tesla was also famous for revolutionary, or grandiose (in the public opinion) ideas. Some of his ideas were capitalized by others, one of the
biggest being the radio. "Guglielmo Marconi is often recognized as the father of the radio,

3. Essay on Innovation And Invention
There is no question in my mind that with appropriate management, we can improve the levels of innovation and creativity within organizations. There
is no magic here. Innovative people are no more 'born' than Olympic gold medallists or virtuoso musicians. Yes, some of us are gifted with more initial
aptitude, but as music and sports show, the 'natural' or the 'child prodigy' frequently does not graduate to the top level. Hard, focused and
appropriately– directed work trumps natural talent in virtually every case. The question is, where to focus? Let us start by looking at the anatomy of
the beast. One key lesson that I took away from Lester Thurlow's book, Head to Head, is the observation that, "Innovation in process trumps innovation

This, of course, should be obvious, but it sure went over the head of the Fast Company writers. If you want to compete with Dell, 'all' you have to do
is match or exceed their innovation in manufacturing and service, and do so with innovative products. To find an example that illustrates this, we need
look no farther than, yet again, Apple. Forget their PC business for the moment. In the music business, in which both Dell and Apple are competing,
Apple is the hands–down winner. While Dell has relied on their previously successful formula of efficient process, but boring design,Apple has
triumphed on both fronts in their iTunes and iPod product lines. Apple not only dominates the music market, their sales in that sector now exceed those
of their PCs – transforming the very nature of the company, to the point where the tag–line on their new iMac computer is, "From the company that
brought you the iPod." This, despite the iPod being launched only in 2001 – 24 years after their first computer, the Apple II, in 1977! Let's look at
another aspect of all of this, the difference between 'innovation' and 'invention'. The closer one gets to Route 128 in Boston and Silicon Valley, the more
it seems that people confuse the two. Too often the obsession is with 'inventing' something totally unique, rather than extracting value from

claiming that it is beneficial, while others reject this notion. The substantial influence of new inventions in our daily lives has sparked the controversy
over the potential impact of this trend in recent years. This essay will further elaborate both advantages and disadvantages of inventions and thus will

the technological invention has shaped our lives in every possible way we think of. Moreover, these inventions can trigger our knowledge and the

are created by very innovative and creative individuals called inventors. Inventors are very unique people in the way that they impact the world with
their ideas and can solve specific problems. The interesting thing about inventors is that anyone can be an inventor. Everyone has their own unique and
creative imagination that can be used to invent items that solve the world's problems. Many people are known for their inventions today and are
famous for them and how they changed the world so drastically. TakeThomas Edison for instance; he invented the phonograph, motion picture camera

Egyptian Inventions Many distinguished inventions originated from ancient Egypt. Remarkable contraptions and devices have shaped the Earth and

difficult problems that they needed to solve. Therefore, a countless number of inventions were projected. Some successful ones commenced from
ancient civilizations in Africa. The Egyptians had many important inventions pertaining to paper and writing, time telling, and agriculture. Today, there
are many forms of writing along with different languages. The idea of writing came about when spoken language was not enough to answer every
question or settle every conflict. The Egyptians started with hieroglyphs at around 3300 to 3200 BC. According to "history–world.org", "Archealogical
discoveries suggest that Egyptian hieroglyphs may be the oldest form of writing." The hieroglyphic system had about 700 basic symbols, or glyphs.
They did not use punctuation or spaces and they wrote in long lines left to right, up to down. The glyphs were divided into two groups; phonograms
and ideograms. Phonograms represented single or multiple consonants. Ideograms, however, stood for ideas or objects. The construction or phrasing
was usually a phonogram followed by an ideogram. The Sumerians used clay tablets to write their pictograms and cuneiform on, but the Egyptians used

So You've Just Come Up With A Million Dollar Idea– Now What?
While there is no set formula on how a would–be inventor can take their great idea from mind to manufacturing, there are some things they must be
aware of and some steps they simply must take as they move forward. If you think you have one of those great ideas, set aside all celebrations for the
time being and start taking real action toward making the idea a productive and profitable reality. Be warned, though: this isn't going to be easy.

When talking to potential partners, you're likely to get more valuable feedback on setting up a company, manufacturing, distribution and other
important elements of a startup.
A second (third, fourth and beyond) opinion should provide you with affirmation that your idea has value, beyond what you've imagined thus far. These
outside opinions help you to chisel your idea into something with real–world applicability. Also, be prepared for the naysayers, who, although
discouraging at first, can also give you useful information.
3. Analyze Development And Production Costs
It's one thing to create a homemade prototype, quite another to put it into real production. How much is it going to cost to perfect your prototype
enough to actually manufacture it? How much will it cost to produce each unit and who can handle that for you? Ideas are typically modified in the
development stage, meaning your original idea may evolve into something different or even spawn two or more spinoff ideas, equally valuable and
worth pursuing.
Although the technical aspects of bringing an invention to the production stage are tedious and challenging, this is a crucial stage for you and will
determine the economic feasibility of moving forward. You need to figure out who you can trust, where your startup capital is going to come from and

principal themes for a long time. Experts in the field of artificial intelligence say that bots will sometime emerge far beyond the intellectual and
physical capacities of humans. There is a game in which computers have never been able to beat a man that is "Go", the elderly Chinese board game.
It is the oldest board game ever made, and the only game at which mankind was always the champion. Go was created by an emperor that wanted his

13. The Invention of Modern Technology
The invention of modern technology has affected the lives of individuals from the immersion and creation of the Internet to mobile devices to smart
phones. It has made communication between people to people faster, more accessible, and easier. Modern technology has created the end of distance
thus making the world a smaller place in terms of making connections and communication. For example, a person from the United States may connect
to somebody else across the ocean with just a single phone call, a Skype or video camera meeting, a text, or even an instant message online.
Distance is no longer a dilemma, a problem, and a barrier to create communication. However, it is because of such technologies, the creation of new
and more advanced software has taken place. At first it was the video camera that allowed the person to take pictures and see the other person via
Skype as long as both parties had the device and Internet connection. Next, computers and laptops came packaged with a built in video camera
allowing for easier access and communication. However, technology has stepped up and advanced the field of communication by allowing and
building video camera abilities through the smart phone like the Apple iPhone. Therefore, as long as one party as an iPhone and the other person has
video camera accessibilities, they can chat and see each other when one person is on the road, and the other is stationed somewhere. As aforementioned,
the distance has become increasingly smaller

15. Opinion Essay on Inventions
BBI20 Assignment#5 Opinion Essay on Inventions 1st March 2011 In my opinion, the most important invention of all time in the history of human
civilization and enterprise is the internet. Why the internet? Simply because I believe this invention has made the world a better place. In almost
everything we do, we need the Internet. Whether it is to look for a job, research for a project or even find love. The Internet is a dominant factor that
plays an important role in our lives. We just simply cannot escape the influence that the Internet has on us. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft enterprises,
once said "The internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow". This quote may seem short, but to me, it significantly...show

It's just that all the books are on the floor." This quote explains it clearly and precisely what the quote stated, the internet stores all the information. This
information can easily be found in one floor. This quote is actually comparing the present to the past, when everybody had to gain knowledge and
obtain information by reading and gathering books from in the library. It is inconvenient and definitely not like the internet, where any information can
be found easily. The Internet has truly changed our world making it more convenient in general, unlike the past. We do not need to waste time
searching for countless of books just to obtain information needed. In addition, the Internet brings the world one step ahead in education as students
can attain knowledge with the click of a button. Internet has also become a universal storage system, because a human mind cannot withstand the
information of the world throughout time. With this, information can be stored and shared to everybody in the world. The improvement of research is
important because as time passes, humans will always strive to gain a better understanding of the universe and review all the past data which is stored
in the Internet. When more knowledge is gained, we can apply, create and innovate the world to become a better place to live in. This is why the
internet is of great importance, as the accumulated information will prove helpful for generations to come. The final reason why

The Inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci Everyone knows Leonardo Da Vinci for his Last Supper Painting and the Mona Lisa. Not only was Da Vinci
a painter he was also an inventor. He had a fascination for planes and other unique things. He made the designs for things like guns and planes that
we use for our military and did not even know he was the first with the ideas of these inventions . He made designs for four flying machines such as
the anemometer and the parachute. He made designs for four war machines such has the crossbow and armed car. He made designs for five
innovations such the clock and the colossus. And last but not least, he designed two water machines such as the scuba gear.
As I stated in the previous paragraph Leonardo Da Vinci had a thing for planes so he decided to a make a design for the anemometer. If you did not
know what this device does, it helps measure the speed of wind. Though Da Vinci did not invent the anemometer, he did however make many
variation from the original one invented by Leon Batista back in 1450. Da Vinci's design for the anemometer had an arched frame with a rectangular
piece of wood hanging from the piece of wood.
So everyone know that when jump out of a plane, you need a parachute. Most people think that Sebastian Lenormand designed the parachute well guess
what they are wrong. Leonardo Da Vinci actually created the parachute in way before Lenormand came along. Da

19. Greatest Invention Essays
What is the greatest invention of all time?
Throughout time there have been lots of new inventions which have both hindered and helped everyday life with humans. There are many different
possible world's greatest inventions because they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others.
I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was not an invention it was a discovery but although
electricity itself was a discovery there was still the invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I think that electricity is very important to
human life because it would be nearly impossible to do anything we do today. If we didn't have electricity a lot of things would...show more content...
I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines,
cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has over
the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital
which saves even more lives with the billions of people who visit a hospital every year.
Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever day. This would restrict most people from doing
things because as soon as it was dark they would have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there
would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb
does now. Yet again it would be exactly like living in the dark ages.

20. Accidental Inventions
"Accidental" discoveries are inventions that were discovered through no intention of discovery. From the good to the bad these types of inventions
have changed our lives forever. These types of things are both things we use everyday, down to food people eat everyday.
Food is a necessity to live, but what will surprise you is that some of the food people today were all "accidental" discoveries. Saccharin is an
artificial sweetener people use to sweeten their food. This was discovered in 1879 when Constantin Fahlberg was trying to find alternative use for
coal tar and forgot to wash his hands after work. The potato chip was invented by fed–up chef George Crum who to teach an annoy customer a lesson
sliced the potatoes thin, fried them and put salt on them, which to his surprise the customer liked. When Coca Cola was discovered by pharmacist John
Pemberton, it was meant to be a medication, however as things would work out it is now a common soft drink that will work out for any party. In an
attempt to make his own soda pop 11–year–old Frank Epperson combined powder and water stuck a stick in it and left it on the porch overnight and
found it the next morning still stuck to the stick. With a combination of a neighboring waffle stall and an ice cream shall the cone was discovered.
Will Kellogg accidently left bread dough out for several hours and discovered it flaky, so he baked it and discovered Cornflakes.
Asides from food things such as Smart Dust where discovered by mistake
