2. Who We Are
Team of psychologists, military strategists, and
leadership experts
Mission: To improve the lives of American
warfighters through the application of
psychological science.

3. The Need
2009 – more soldiers lost to suicide than the
wars in Iraq and Afghanistan combined
18 veterans take their own lives every day
Suicide rate has risen every year since the start
of Operation Iraqi Freedom
Nearly 40% of OIF/OEF veterans are diagnosed
with a mental illness. One third receive minimal
care, one third receive no care at all.
4. WikiWarriors Project
The idea: There is power in the collective
knowledge of veterans and their loved ones.
The philosophy: A small group of caring, hard-
working individuals can make a positive impact.
Change need not be large or expensive to be
impactful.
The project: An e-book, available free of charge,
that will reduce stigma and provide practical tips
on what has worked for vets dealing with PTSD
and related issues.
The needs: Cover art, written content,

Art should be a photograph or other piece of art
of your own creation and not in violation of any
copyright laws.
6. Content
Must be of your own creation, factual, and
sound in terms of grammar and
punctuation.
7. Content Structure
Written content will consist of the following parts:
1. Who I am – tell us a little bit about yourself as
a person, as a soldier, as a sports fan, as a
parent, as an American, as a person of faith, or
whatever else makes you who you are. Feel free
to change your name for confidentiality, but
please let us know that you have done so.

2. My experience – Where did you serve? When
did you serve? What were some of the joys and
heartaches of your involvement? We desire a
truthful recounting of your narrative, but please
avoid being graphic or insensitive to the extent
possible.
3. What has worked – What have you found
beneficial as you have worked to overcome
PTSD, nightmares, depression, marital conflict,
or whatever other challenges you have faced?
Have any creative or unexpected solutions
helped to improve your mood and quality of life?

4. My wish – What is your wish for others who
may find themselves in a situation similar to
yours? What is your message or advice for
them? What do you wish you had done
differently?
Thank you in advance for your willingness to
share your story in an effort to bring hope and
comfort to others!
10. Distribution
Once the book is complete, it will only be as
useful as it is widely distributed.
