Eto na nga po... One week after namin makabalik, nakatulog at nakapahinga na ko. Wala nang jet
lag. Kaya sisimulan ko na po kwento ko senyo tungkol sa #HolyLand2023 trip namin. Medyo
mahabang kwentuhan to kasi 12 days po yung pilgrimage namin. We went to 3 countries (Egypt,
Israel, and Jordan) kaya uunti-untiin ko ang pagpost para di kayo maumay. Hehe. So dito muna
tayo sa unang araw ng byahe namin papuntang Egypt... Nung Feb 28 (Tue), we left Manila around
11:30PM and flew via Emirates (Yehess, first time ko pong nakapag Emirates. Bongga! Sherep ng
food nila. Every 2 hours ata pinapakain nila kami e. Burp! Tas andami nilang pantanggal ng inip sa
tablet na nasa harap ng seat mo---movies, music, games, etc. Winner!) After around 9 hours of
smooth flight, we reached Dubai . Layover muna kami dun ng mga 3 hours. Tas sobrang
nakakatuwa kasi nakita namin ni Fr Jerome yung friend namin na si Fr Hector dun sa Dubai airport!
May trip din pala sila sa Europe that time. Small world talaga! Before the pandemic po kasi, sa
Sampaloc, Manila lang kami nagkitang tatlo e. Ngayon, sa Dubai na. O ha. Bongga. Hehe. After 3
hours of layover, lipad na ulit kami ng another 3-4 hours papuntang Egypt.✈ At ayun na nga.
Pagdating namin sa Egypt, bumungad na sa amin ang presensya ni Cleopatra. Simula na ng
adventure! Ang sweet pa ni Youssef, yung tour guide namin. May pa-welcome flowers pa sya sa
amin. Hihi... Ay, kaso ang haba na neto. Hanggang dito na po muna. Please follow for more. Char.

BLEEDING PILLAR Maybe the least known
miraculous event associated with this church
can be found by looking to the right upon
entering, where you will find one of the many
pillars surrounded by a clear barrier. Upon
looking at it more closely you notice that it the
pillar has a dark stain, distinguishing it from the
others. It is said that in 1967, a few weeks before
Egypt’s defeat in the war with Israel, blood began
to come out of the pillar, until Pope Cyril VI
visited and prayed so that it may stop, at which

THE "HANGING CHURCH" Straight from the Cairo Airport, we went to the Church of the Holy Virgin
Mary aka the "Hanging Church" built in the 4th century. Mama Mary had apparitions daw here
before. But please note that this is not a Roman Catholic Church. It is a Coptic Orthodox Church (iba
pa po sila sa Greek Orthodox at Russian Orthodox, but all of them are also Christians). Why is it
called the Hanging Church? Because it was constructed on the ruins of two towers from the old
Roman fortress of Babylon. Palm trees, logs, and layers of stones were constructed above the
towers used as the foundation. HOLY FAMILY'S CAVE Remember nung pinanganak si Jesus, sabi
nung 3 wise men, Sya yung next na magiging King of the Jews? Kaya King Herod felt threatened and
decided to look for Him and kill Him. So from Bethlehem, the Holy Family fled to Egypt after an angel
warned Joseph to leave with Baby Jesus and Mama Mary. When they arrived in Egypt, they lived in a
cave. This was one of their many stops during their 3+ years stay in Egypt, as referenced in the Bible.
It is said that Queen Helena (mother of Emperor Constantine) commissioned the building of this
Hanging Church above the cave where the Holy Family lived for a while. ❤ Day 1 Part 1 of 2 pa lang
po ito. Kasi after this, we went to the Egyptian Museum. Super dami ko ding pix dun kaya sa next

Mahilig din ba kayo sa museums like me? Hehe... Ayan. Share ko sa inyo yung mga photos ko dun sa
museum na pinuntahan namin sa Egypt. Hanep. Yung mga nababasa ko lang dati sa History books,
andun! NATIONAL MUSEUM OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION Kadugtong pa din po ito ng Day 1
namin sa Egypt. After namin magpunta sa Hanging Church, naglunch at dumerecho na po kami dito
sa museum. Pwedeng pwede po magtake ng pictures sa lahat ng mga nakadisplay na artifacts
EXCEPT dun sa 22 mummies na nasa basement nung museum. Those ancient mummies, dating
back to the 17th to the 20th dynasties include 18 kings and four queens. They include King Ramses
II, King Sagnin Ra, King Tuthmosis III, King Seti I, Queen Hatshepsut, Queen Merit Amon, wife of King

END OF DAY 1 IN EGYPT So ayun po. After going to the Egyptian museum, we went to a small church
(Franciscan orphanage in Old Cairo) and celebrated Mass* with Fr Jerome. After the Mass, we
headed to the "New Cairo" and had dinner there. Parang maliit na BGC ang peg nung lugar. Modern.
Medyo malayo ang itsura ng pinanggalingan naming "Old Cairo" nung umaga. Kaso... ganun pa
din yung selection ng food tulad nung lunch. Maraming spices. Sa umpisa, keribels. Masherep.
Kakaiba e. Pero pag araw-araw na ganun, di ko na bet. Waaah. Walang pork at seafoods. Puro
beef, lamb, at chicken. At sandamakmak na pampalasang kakaiba. Buti na lang, ang sarap ng fruits
nila! Napakatamis ng malalaking strawberries, melons, oranges, at bananas. Maraming
potatoes, dates, at olives. Kaso walang mangoes (yun pa naman favorite fruit ko di ba huhu ).
Anyway, buti na lang marami silang tinapay. Iba-ibang klaseng breads at cheeses! Winner sa sarap!
Oks. Hanggang dito na po muna. Grabe. Day 1 pa lang natapos ko. May 11 days pa! Haha!

churches, chapels, at venues dun. While on the road, nagrorosary naman kami inside the bus. We

ANG KYUT NI KING TUT Ayan. Day 2 na namin sa Egypt. Maaga ang call time namin kasi we need to
be on the road as early as we can. Pupunta kasi kami sa Giza. Wait. Naalala nyo pa ba kung ano
ang nandun? Korek! Ang Great Pyramids of Giza! One of the Seven Wonders of the World yun. Kaya
Kuya Kim, ano na?! Char. Pero syempre bago ang lahat, inuna muna namin ang Banal na Misa. ❤
So we went to a small chapel of Blessed Elizabeth Vendramini, the foundress of Franciscan
Elizabethin Sisters. There we met Italian nuns. Sakto. Meron silang fundraising event. Dun kami
simulang nabudol este... bumili ng mga anik-anik pampasalubong bilang tulong na din sa kanila.
Btw, ang unang hotel na pinagstayan namin sa Cairo, Egypt e yung Hilton Cairo Heliopolis Hotel.
Meron silang replica ng bust ni King Tutankhamun sa lobby. Meron din silang artifact na nakadisplay.
Nakalagay "King Tut on a Boat". Hmm... Siguro kung ngayon nabuhay yun, "King Tut on a Surfing
Board" yun. Bagets pa kasi syang king e. O sya sya, hanggang dito na muna. Magpopost na lang

THE GREAT PYRAMIDS AND THE GREAT SPHINX Kaya naman pala isa ito sa Seven Wonders of the
World e. Nakakamangha naman po pala talaga! Nakikita ko lang yan dati sa history books namin
nung high school. Napapanood ko din yan sa mga documentaries at movies. Pero iba pa rin pala pag
napuntahan at nakita mo yan up close and personal! Sobrang laki, sobrang taas! Tas iisipin mo,
paano kaya nila ginawa dati yan nung wala pang modern machineries? Hanep! So nung nandun na
kami, bukod sa piktyuran to the max, syempre sumakay din kami ng camel. In fairness, mabait
yung camel namin. Name nya Charlie. Hindi sya maharot. Kalmado lang sya (di tulad nung aligagang
kabayo na nasakyan ko sa Tagaytay dati hehe). Pero napatili pa din ako nung sumakay na ko. Hihi.
Mula kasi sa pagkakaluhod, pagtayo nya, pucha antaas pala talaga! Tas nung pababa naman ako,
luluhod naman sya ulit. Para akong sumakay ng roller coaster pababa. Haha! Daig pa ko ni
Mommy Bess. Cool na cool lang sya sa pagsakay at pagbaba kay Charlie. Wait. Di pa po natapos
dito ang Day 2 namin sa Egypt. After neto, nagpunta pa kami sa Sultan Adam Aromatherapy Oils and
Perfumes. Tas nung gabi, nag cruise pa kami sa Nile River with matching belly dancing! Hihi.?

PAPYRUS ART OILS AND PERFUMES NILE
RIVER CRUISE After seeing the Great Pyramids
and Great Sphinx, we had lunch and then we
went to two souvenir shops para mabudol este
bumili ng mga pasalubong (one shop selling
papyrus art, another selling special oils and
perfumes). After that, we had dinner cruise
along the Nile River while being entertained by a
belly dancer and a tanoura dancer. After
dinner, we went back to the hotel. Pagod ang
katawang lupa sa maghapong gala, pero puno ng
saya ang puso sa lahat ng biyaya. (Luh, makata
yarn?) O sya, pakibasa na lang po yung
captions sa bawat photo/video dito. Sa post ko
about Day 3, share ko naman yung experiences
namin sa pagdaan namin sa Suez Canal at

SUEZ CANAL SINAI DESERT ST. CATHERINE MONASTERY MT. SINAI Our last day in Egypt (Day 3)
started very early. As in super early! Call time 2am. Nakaimpake na dapat mga bags pang
check-in and nakalagay na sa bus dahil lilipat na kami ng hotel at the end of the day (3 days, 2 nights
lang kami sa Cairo). They served us packed breakfast naman sa bus. We need to be early kasi
mahaba-haba ang byahe. We were headed to Mt Sinai! Do you still remember the Old Testament? It
is where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God. But before we can reach Mt Sinai,
we need to pass through the Suez Canal, a man-made waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea
to the Indian Ocean via the Red Sea. It divides Africa and Asia. O ha. Kaya need namin maaga umalis
kasi super daming bus ang nakapila dun sa border. Mahigpit ang security. Meron silang
napakalaking scanner ng buong bus! Tas bawal magpicture sa mga uniformed officers. Strict ang
parents nila. Char. Anyway, after almost an hour of waiting ata, nakalusot din kami. We passed
through the Suez Canal and started our very long drive along the Sinai Desert. I forgot how many
hours it took us to reach Mt Sinai from the border (mga 8 hours nga ba?). Anyway, mas malayo pa
kesa sa Baguio! May wiwi breaks din naman kami. W.C. (water closet) ang tawag nila sa CR. Take
note. May bayad. Iba-iba sila ng singil. Yung ibang lugar 1USD for four people. Yung iba naman for 2
people lang yun. Tip: Dapat marami kayong baon na tig 1USD. Barya lang po sa umaga. Ganern. So
ayun na nga.... Yung madadaanan, puro disyerto. As in puro bundok at alikabok! Halos walang puno
at halaman. Habang nasa byahe, we prayed the rosary. Naglecture din yung tour guide and si Padre
tungkol sa journey nina Moses and the Israelites. So parang instant review ng Old Testament!
When we finally reached the St Catherine Monastery (which is a Greek Orthodox monastery), we saw
the Burning Bush. Syempre di na sya burning. And di na din yun yung exact bush. Pero galing
yun sa original bush. Gentle reminder: Sacred place po iyon. So if you will go there, please don't
wear shorts (yung mga nakashorts pinapagtapis ng telang malaki). Anyway, we also saw there the
"Well of Moses" where Moses met the seven daughters of Jethro, including Zipporah who became
his wife. After lunch, we went to the foot of Mt Sinai. Di na kami nakaakyat sa taas. Need pa kasi ng
permits and medyo mahaba at matagal na lakaran kasi yun. Kukulangin na kami sa time (excuses,
excuses). Btw, from St Catherine Monastery papunta sa paanan ng Mt Sinai, either lakad ng
mahaba or sakay ng mini van. So alam na dis. Sumakay kami ng mini van. Ganun din pabalik. Hehe.
After ng piktyur piktyur at lektyur lektyur, balik na kami sa bus. Papunta na kami sa Le Meridien
Dahab Resort, which is part of Sinai Peninsula. Naku, napakagandang resort nun! Dun kami nag
overnight stay before we crossed the border going to Israel. Dami kong kwento, photos and videos
dun... kaya hanggang dito na po muna para di kayo masyado maumay ha. Hehe. Paalam!❤ Day 3

SUNSET & SUNRISE AT THE RED SEA After a long ride in the
desert... we found an OASIS! We arrived at the Le Meridien
Dahab Resort in the afternoon of March 3 (Fri) and enjoyed the
beautiful sunset while we celebrated the Holy Mass. The
following day, we excitedly rose very early to catch the
breathtaking sunrise and frolick in the shores of the Sea of Reeds
aka Red Sea (peksman hindi po sya kulay pula ). After our
sumptuous breakfast, we left the resort and headed to the Taba
Border to continue our pilgrimage in Israel. Mas matagal
kami dun sa Israel (6 days) kaya napakarami ko pang kwento.

PALESTINE NA! Eto na po... hehe. Sorry naging busy po kasi
ako kakabasa ng libro ("The Holy Land") at kakapanood ng The
Chosen (nood din po kayo nun! ) kaya now lang ulit ako
nakapagpost about our trip... So, ayun na nga. Pagkatawid namin
ng border from Egypt to Israel nung March 4 ng hapon,
dumerecho kami sa Good Shepherd Church Jericho to celebrate
Mass. Then we passed by a place where we were able to see
Mount Temptation from afar. After that, we proceeded to our
hotel* and called it a day. ❤ *Paradise Premium Hotel is in
Bethlehem (which is actually part of Palestine, not Israel). More

BETHLEHEM MEANS "HOUSE OF BREAD" In Hebrew, the city’s
name is pronounced as “Beit-lehem.” “Beit” means house and
“Lechem” means bread – “House of Bread”. While we were on the
bus going to another place in Bethlehem, our brilliant tour guide,
Taleb, explained the significance of the bread and how Jesus
would have used rice if He came here instead. E keshe nemen...

The Shepherds' Field Church was built by the
very important and famous Italian architect,
ANTONIO BARLUZZI aka the "Architect of the
Holy Land". He built and restored so many
churches in the Hold Land. In order for them to
glorify God, he depicted the incidents/stories in
the Bible in his architectural designs. Like this
church: It has four pillars and it looks like the
tent of the sheperds before. Its dome is made of
glass to let the light shine through, like angels
coming down upon the shepherds. Galing!❤

ito.❤ Syempre naman. Dito kasi yung sinasabi nilang spot where Jesus was born. The 14-point
silver star under the altar on a cracked marble floor has an inscription that reads, “Here of the Virgin
Mary Jesus Christ was born.” Bakit 14 yung points ng star? Kasi they represent the three sets of 14

yung butas sa loob ng star. Malalim pala! Tas nagkiss ako at nagdasal ng mabilis. In fairness,

PALM SUNDAY ROAD, JERUSALEM Sakto.
Today is Palm Sunday. Will share with you the
route that Jesus took when He entered
Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish Passover the
week before His crucifixion. Ito po yung Palm
Sunday Road. It begins at the Mount of Olives
and leads past several holy sites, including the
Garden of Gethsemane and Pater Noster Church,
and ends inside the Old City of Jerusalem.
Ikwento ko sa inyo yang mga dinaanan namin na
holy sites sa next post ko. Dito muna tayo sa
Palm Sunday Road. Syempre isiningit ko na

RIGHT FOOTPRINT OF JESUS ❤ Ang highlight at pinakahihintay po natin sa dulo ng Holy Week ay
ang pagkabuhay muli ni Jesus. Tas after forty days, yung pagpanik Nya sa langit, di ba? Before we
went to the Holy Land, i didn't know that there's a slab of rock where we can find the footprint of
Jesus! It is called the "ASCENSION ROCK". It is believed to be imprinted with Jesus’ right foot (the
section bearing the left footprint was moved to Muslims' Temple Mount because Islam also
acknowledges the sanctity of Jesus’s ascension). So itong right footprint ni Jesus, nakita at
nahawakan namin sa CHAPEL OF THE ASCENSION sa MOUNT OF OLIVES.❤ We got there from
Mount Moriah after passing through the Kidron Valley. This chapel used to be an open-to-the-sky
structure, but the Arabs built a dome on top of it. So hindi lang ito pang Kristiano, pang Muslim din!
Chapel na, mosque pa. O ha. San ka pa. In Jewish traditions naman, many Jews pay a lot of
money to secure a tomb and be buried on the Mount of Olives because they believe that when the
Messiah comes, the resurrection of the dead will begin there. Ayun. Naishare ko lang din po. Dami

city and wept over it." – Luke 19:41 (Italian architect Antonio

“oil press” (or gawaan ng oil kaya maraming
olive trees dun). JERUSALEM CROSS Also known
as the Crusader cross, the Jerusalem cross
dates back to the 11th and 12th century when the
Crusaders captured Jerusalem in 1099,
establishing Christianity in the area. (At that
time, Muslim forces controlled the area). What
Does the Jerusalem Cross Symbolize? The
Jerusalem cross is believed to represent several
things. Historians note that the four crosses
surrounding the large center cross represent the
four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The four crosses also are believed to represent
the four corners of the earth, in which Jesus
desired His word to be proclaimed by His

GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE ROCK OF AGONY OLDEST LIVING OLIVE TREES Nung nasa Mount of
Olives na kami, we went to the Garden of Gethsemane (in Hebrew it means “oil press” or gawaan ng
oil kaya maraming olive trees dun). Nakita namin dun yung oldest living olive trees na mga 900+
years old na ngayon. Bale medyo bata lang ng konti yun kay Enrile. Char. Nagdasal kami dun sa
Basilica of the Agony aka CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS (sponsored jointly by several countries).

princess who initially built the church in 1874
was an Italian woman who was the widow of a
French prince Aurélie de Bossi, the Princess de
la Tour d’Auvergne, had a particular devotion to
the Lord’s Prayer. She erected translations of the
prayer in 39 different languages. The princess
died in Florence in 1889, but her last wish was
for her remains to rest in the Pater Noster
Church, in a tomb which she had prepared. Her
wish was fulfilled in 1957. On top of her
sarcophagus is a life-size effigy.

PATER NOSTER* CHURCH (*Our Father in Latin) Still in Jerusalem, this is the site where Jesus
taught the "Our Father" to His disciples. This is located in Mount of Olives, just below the Chapel of
the Ascension. It is part of a Carmelite Monastery, also known as the Sanctuary of the Eleona ("olive

QUMRAN CAVES DEAD SEA SCROLLS ...at isang dakilang kambing! Pagkagaling namin sa Pater
Noster Church, nagpunta kami sa Qumran National Park in the Judean Desert. It is the site where
the oldest Biblical manuscripts, known as the DEAD SEA SCROLLS, were found by a Bedouin
shepherd. Ayon sa na-Google ko, ganto daw yun nadiscover nung 1947: May naligaw daw na isang
kambing yung isang batang pastol. Sa paghahanap nya dun sa kambing nya, may nakita syang
kweba. Binato nya yung loob ng kweba para kung nandun nagtatago yung kambing, lumabas na sya.
Kaso pagkabato nya, may narinig syang nabasag. Pagpasok nya sa kweba, nakita nya na may
nabasag na banga. At sa loob nga nun e nandun yung mga scrolls. (Ang di ko lang alam e
kung nakita din nya yung nawawalang kambing. ) According to experts, the scrolls are
approximately 2,000 years old (around the time of Jesus). They are called Dead Sea Scrolls because
they were found inside the Qumran caves near the Dead Sea. Qumran means "river bed". Yun lang

THE WAILING WALL Before we went to the Holy Land, i asked my friends to send me their prayer
requests so that i can bring them to the Wailing Wall. Sorry po. Mali po pala ako. Hindi po pala
dapat dun ilagay ang mga prayers nating mga Kristiano. (Actually, pwede naman. Hindi naman
bawal.) Pero mas magandang sa simbahan po pala iwan yun para madasalan ng pari sa Misa.
Kaya yun po ang ginawa ko. Nilagay ko po sa isang simbahan sa Nazareth yung mga pinadala nyo sa
aking prayer requests. Will share the photos in one of my next posts. So bakit nga hindi dapat
sa Wailing Wall? Kasi yun po pala ang pinakabanal na lugar para sa mga Jews. ✡ It is the only
remaining part of the Temple erected by Herod the Great. It was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD,
but Jews believe that the Divine presence never leaves the Wall kaya it is Judaism's holiest site.
Actually, Western Wall ang pangalan nun dahil nasa western side yun ng Temple Mount. Pero mas
kilala nga sya sa tawag na WAILING WALL dahil umiiyak ang mga Jews pag nagdadasal sila dun.
Nakita ko mismo kung paano sila magdasal. Talagang taimtim at medyo maingay habang binabasa
nila yung Torah (Bible nila). The Western Wall Plaza is divided into two sections. Magkahiwalay ang
mga babae at lalaki. Bawal labas ang legs at shoulders (scarves are provided at the site). Yung mga
lalaki naman may pinapahiram na pang cover sa ulo. After magdasal, dapat dahandahang paatras
ang lakad mo away from the wall bilang paggalang sa kanila. Going to the Wailing Wall was a
different kind of experience for me. Naremind ako na meron tayong mga kapatid sa ibang parte ng
mundo na iba ang paniniwala* sa atin, pero kapatid pa din natin sila kaya dapat natin silang igalang
at mahalin kasi yun ang turo ni Jesus sa atin.❤ *Jews do not regard Jesus as God. For them, He is a

HOUSE OF CAIAPHAS aka CHURCH OF SAINT PETER IN GALLICANTU Sakto. Holy Thursday today.
Same time when Peter denied Jesus three times in the courtyard of the house of high priest
Caiaphas. There is now a church in that site and it is called the Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu
(cock's crow in Latin). On the roof of the church is a rooster on a black cross, a symbol of PETER'S
DENIAL OF JESUS before the cock crowed. In the Courtyard of the church is a statue that recalls the
events of Peter’s denial. It shows Peter, the rooster that crowed, a maid, a servant, and a Roman
soldier. Below the church is the SACRED PIT where Jesus spent the night in a dungeon at the house
of Caiaphas before He was taken to Pilate the next morning. Nandun din sa labas ng church yung
HOLY STEPS---a walkway that was used for ascending and descending from Mount Zion to the
Kidron Valley. Holy Steps ang tawag dun dahil dun daw dumaan si Jesus and His disciples mula sa
Upper Room (where they had the Last Supper) papunta sa Garden of Gethsemane. And dun din Sya
dumaan nung dinakip na Sya sa Garden of Gethsemane papunta sa House of Caiaphas. Mga pix

THE SACRED PIT As mentioned in my previous post, below the Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu is
the SACRED PIT where Jesus spent the whole night in a dungeon at the house of Caiaphas before He
was taken to Pilate the next morning. Sabi nila, that dungeon was about fifteen feet square, twenty
feet deep. NO DOOR. NO WINDOW. NO LIGHT. The only entrance is through a narrow, bottleneck
opening at the top, through which a prisoner was lowered by a harness of ropes secured around
shoulders and chest. At dun nga nila hinulog si Jesus mag-isa sa buong magdamag bago Sya dinala
kay Pontious Pilate kinabukasan (Good Friday). While inside the pit, Jesus prayed to God the Father
and recited PSALM 88. Try nyo din pong basahin yung Psalm 88. Ang hirap, nakakakilabot, ang
sakit maimagine kung ano ang naramdaman ni Jesus nung Holy Thursday night sa loob ng masikip,

HOLY STEPS Sa labas ng Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu, nandun yung HOLY STEPS---a walkway
that was used for ascending and descending from Mount Zion to the Kidron Valley. Holy Steps ang
tawag dun dahil dun daw dumaan si Jesus and His disciples mula sa Upper Room (where they had
the Last Supper) papunta sa Garden of Gethsemane. And dun din Sya dumaan nung dinakip na Sya
sa Garden of Gethsemane papunta sa House of Caiaphas. Hindi na yun pinapadaanan ngayon.
Nilagyan na nila ng bakod para siguro mapreserve at makita pa ng mga susunod na generations.
Kaya naman sobrang pasasalamat ko talaga kay God at nabigyan kami ng pagkakataon na

Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a
reason. Take some time and decide if you need
any of those pieces back. Me: You don't
understand! I'm breaking down! God: No--- you
don't understand. YOU ARE BREAKING
THROUGH. What you are feeling are just growing
pains. You are shedding the things, the people
and the systems in your life that are holding you
back. You aren't falling apart. YOU ARE FALLING
INTO PLACE. RELAX. Take some deep breaths
and allow those things you don't need anymore
to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that
don't fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them
go. Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left
of me? God: Only the very best pieces of you. Me:
I'm scared of changing. God: I keep telling you -

VIA DOLOROSA ("Sorrowful Way" or "Way of Suffering") At the
break of dawn, we headed to the place in Jerusalem called Via
Dolorosa. It’s the route Jesus walked on as He went from His trial
before Pilate to His crucifixion at Golgotha. The Via Dolorosa has
14 stations. Stations 1–9 have a large rounded metal plaque with
Roman numerals marking their locations. Stations 10—14 are

Some notes on the VIA DOLOROSA ("Sorrowful
Way" or "Way of Suffering") 1. Roman Crucifixion
always took place in the most public areas as
possible. 2. Jesus was led through the busy
streets for maximum humiliation. 3. Christ’s
crucifixion happened on the day of Passover, so
Jerusalem was at its busiest time of year, and
there could have easily been around 150,000
people present in the city at this time. 4. The
blood lost during the floggings, the crown of
thorns, and beatings were unbearable and
life-threatening. 5. Christ was so weak that
Simon of Cyrene had to carry His cross most of
the way to Golgotha. 6. The total time elapsed
from Christ’s suffering that began in the Garden
of Gethsemane to His death on the cross was
about 18 hours of sleepless, intense torment and
pain. 7. The physical suffering was only a drop in
the bucket compared to the spiritual suffering
Christ endured in order to pay for our sins.

CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE* After Via Dolorosa, we went
straight to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to complete the
Stations of the Cross and attend the Holy Mass. Yes! We were so
blessed to be one of the very, very few groups who were allowed
to attend the Mass inside the main church. So yun muna po
ang iseshare ko dito. Will share about the CRUCIFIXION ALTAR,
STONE OF UNCTION, ANGEL'S ROCK, AND TOMB OF JESUS in
my next post. *Sepulchre means a small room or monument,

STONE OF UNCTION The Stone of Unction (Station 13) is located
upon entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This is where
they placed the body of Jesus after taking Him down from the
Cross. Here His Holy Body was cleaned and anointed with oil in
preparation for His burial. Behind the Stone is a mosaic depicting
Christ's anointing for burial (see next photos).

"ENCOUNTER" Of all the paintings that I've seen
in the Holy Land, this is my most favorite. This is
a masterpiece of Daniel Cariola, a Chilean artist.
This mural-sized painting of the encounter
between Jesus and the hemorrhaging woman is
in the lower chapel of Duc in Altum Church in
Magdala near the Sea of Galilee, Israel. It
portrays one of the most significant miracles in
the Gospel: "... because she thought, 'If I just
touch his clothes, I will be healed.' Immediately,
her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body
that she was freed from her suffering." (Mark 5:
28-29). ❤

DEAD SEA Nakapagbeach din naman po kami sa Holy Land. Kaso... di kami nakapag swimming.
Hindi kasi pwedeng... ilubog ang ulo sa dagat matalamsikan ang mata makainom ng
tubig-dagat magdive magsplash at magharutan bumabad ng more than 15 mins Baket?
Kasi dun kami nag beach sa DEAD SEA. Sobrang alat ng tubig! 10x na mas maalat kesa sa ibang
dagat. Sa sobrang alat, walang nabubuhay na kahit ano. As in! Walang kahit anong klaseng isda,
walang kahit na super liit na halaman. Waley talaga. Pramis! Sabi nila, parte daw ito ng lugar na
isinumpa ng Panginoon (remember Sodom and Gomorrah? ). Pero yung putik, buhangin, at asin ng
Dead Sea, kilala sa buong mundo. Therapeutic kasi at nakakaganda ng kutis. Matik na nakakatuyo
ng tagyawat at mga sakit sa balat!❤ Kaya ayun. Kahit di kami nakapagswimming, super nag enjoy
kami! Nag ala ati-atihan kami sa pagpahid ng buhangin at putik sa katawan. Nasubukan din
naming mag floating. Effortless nga! Kahit gaano ka kabigat, lulutang ka! Dami ding health and
beauty products na binebenta dun. Panahon pa daw kasi ni Herod the Great, health resort na yun.

dining table. After the circle dance, tinaob yung
kaldero para masimulan na iserve yung kanina.

tradition, maqluba means “upside down” in
