2. What are Instructional Design Models?
Instructional Design Models is a practice of creating instructional experiences to help facilitate learning
most effectively (Kurt, 2021). This framework is used for alignment as (Bullen, 2014) alluded in his video
presentation, it is used to aligned the objectives to the activities, and then to the assessment.
3. ADDIE Instructional Design Model
• This Instructional Design was
established in the 1975 by The
U.S. Army. It took a series of
changes until the 2000’s (Clark,
2015). The model is widely used
in educational systems.

• The Dick & Carey
Instructional Design Model
was created in 1978 by
Walter Dick and Lou Carey
formerly known as the
Systematic Design of
Instruction (Kurt, 2016).

ADVANTAGES CHALLENGES
The ADDIE Instructional Design Model is
the foundation of many instructional
designs.
The ADDIE Instructional Design Model is
linear and therefore needs a step to be
completed before execution of another.
The Dick & Carey Instructional Model is
thorough, detailed and evaluates each
procedure in the process.
The Dick & Carey Instructional Model is
time consuming.
