In France, our HQ is home to the IX-LAB and
SOS REPAIR SERVICE, two workshops spe-
cialising in making, updating and repairing
leather suits.
The IX-LAB is our innovation and production
laboratory: this is where we manufacture all
the made-to-measure suits for our profes-
sional riders. It's precise and highly technical
work. The suits are tailored to each racer's
body shape as well as their personal prefe-
rences and requirements over the course of
the racing calendar. That means every suit the
IX-LAB teams make is made on request as a
one-off: each suit is a unique piece.
As well as the IX-LAB for professional racers,
the SOS REPAIR SERVICE is our second
workshop. It provides support to any leather
race suit owner, whether they're professio-
nals or amateurs and no matter the suit brand.
Our SOS REPAIR SERVICE's unique expertise
enables it to provide three types of service:
customisation and branding, alterations and
adjustments, repairs and reconditioning.
Speed, Endurance, Supermoto: we are present
in all disciplines and competitions on an inter-
national scale. At the heart of our involvement
in the world of racing, we have been taking
part since 2010 in the series epitomising
speed races and motorcycle sport at the hi-
ghest level there is: MotoGP.
In just a few years, IXON has become an es-
sential player in the MotoGP paddock: we are
one of the most widely represented brands,
but also one of the most widely recognised
for the quality of our products and associated
services.
Our Grand Prix riders are equipped with our
made-to-measure suits and supported all
through the season by our Racing Service to
meet all their needs, so they can focus 100%
on their ride. We are proud to support our ri-
ders on the race tracks, to take part in their
quest for performance and to celebrate their

IMPERMEABILITY PERFORMANCE:
SCHMERBER WATER COLUMN TEST
Impermeability is the capacity of a fabric to resist water pressure. Breathability is the capacity of a fabric to eliminate water vapour,
especially the rider's sweat (due to heat or stress in particular). When you ride a motorbike, water from outside (rain or spray, for example) and the
rider's sweat are problems because feeling wet is soon uncomfortable.
IXON equipment is both impermeable and breathable: it can protect you from water, while eliminating sweat to maintain riding comfort.
The impermeability and breathability of a fabric can be measured. We use the Schmerber water column test to measure impermeability
performance and the MVTR index to test breathability.
The Schmerber water column test shows a fabric's level of impermeability, expressed in
Schmerbers (named after Charles-Edouard Schmerber, the creator of the test). During the test,
the clothing fabric undergoes pressure from a water column. One millimetre of a water column
is equal to 1 Schmerber and 0.1 mbar of pressure. The test ends when the water starts to pene-
trate the garment. We can then measure the water pressure the garment was able to withstand.
The number of millimetres in the water column is given in Schmerbers (ISO norm). It shows the
impermeability performance of the fabric. The higher the number, the more impermeable the
fabric is.
Because of the pressure on motorcycling equipment resulting from wind or speed during a ride,
motorcycling equipment must achieve specific levels of performance which greatly differ from
the standards for everyday clothing.
The ISO norm states that a fabric is waterproof from 1300 mm / 1300 Schmerber. To give you
an idea, rain rarely goes over the equivalent of 2000 Schmerber. But for a motorbike riding in
the rain at 130 km/h, the pressure from the water on clothes can reach about 8000 Schmerber.

The MVTR index tests a fabric's breathability rate. MVTR stands for "Moisture
Vapour Transmission Rate". It measures the quantity of water vapour in grams
that a square metre of material lets through in 24 hours. The result is given as
g/m²/24 hours and shows the fabric's breathability performance: the higher the
result, the more breathable the fabric.
IXON clothing offer 3 ranges of impermeability and breathability : XDRY,
XDRY3L and DryMesh. Each range includes various performance levels in order
to provide users with the most suitable technology according to their uses.
We have developed a high-performance membrane that is both lastingly water-
proof and highly breathable: XDRY.
Highly technical, our XDRY membrane includes microscopic pores that are invi-
sible to the naked eye: they are small enough to prevent water from penetrating
but big enough to evacuate perspiration. IXON equipment can either include a
fixed or removable XDRY membrane.
With XDRY3L, we offer an “all-in-one” material: XDRY3L is the equipment’s ou-
ter material and directly integrates the XDRY membrane in its construction. The
“3L” in XDRY3L stands for “Light Laminated Layers”. XDRY3L is made of three
layers which have been laminated to form a single material: the outer fabric, the
XDRY membrane, the inner layer.
With XDRY3L jackets and trousers, IXON provides a high level of technicality
to the most demanding of riders, with direct ventilation and improved comfort.
Once the ventilation zips are opened, the XDRY3L material sends fresh air direc-
tly to the motorcyclist without the airflow having to pass through a membrane.
Furthermore, by directly integrating waterproofness and breathability in the clo-
thing’s outer material, XDR3L combines protection, waterproofness and brea-
thability in a single material.

TECHNICAL INNOVATIONS
NEW TROUSER LENGTHS
DWR Teflon™-treated
Because products in the Adventure range are used in extreme
conditions, IXON innovates in the technologies used: the M-SKEID
jacket and M-SKD trousers are DWR* Teflon™-treated. Thanks to
this treatment, they are more comfortable for the user and easier
to maintain.
Fabrics with Teflon™ Textile Finishes are indeed more durable as
treated fabrics:
• Repel stains and require less frequent washing.
• Require lower washing temperatures (up to 50% lower than for
untreated fabrics) to be cleaned.
• Dry 25 to 40% quicker, whether they are dried using a tumble
dryer or air dried.

IXON provides shorter (SHORT) and longer (LONG) options with a
shorter or longer inseam as well as standard trousers so everyone
can find their perfect fit.
For a size L, the crotch height is the following:

FIDLOCK®
The FIDLOCK®
fastening/locking system is a highly practical alter-
native to standard snap button/strap systems. The magnetic faste-
ner uses magnets’ attraction and repulsion properties. It can be used
with one hand while riding.
In order to improve user experience, we have used the FIDLOCK®
system for the M-SKEID jacket and M-SKD trousers, as well as
the VIDAR jacket and VIDAR PT trousers. These products include
ventilation liners which can easily be opened or closed using the
FIDLOCK®

• The primary regulatory authority for CE certification is the European Commission.
• The CE label features on products marketed inside the European Economic Area (EEA) which have been assessed to meet high
safety, health and environmental protection requirements, in accordance with the European Commission and the applicable standard.
The CE label also features on products marketed outside the EEA, which are manufactured inside the EEA or initially designed to be
manufactured inside the EEA.
DETAIL OF THE 3 RISK AREAS
The 3 risk areas represent various injury risk levels depending on the
various body areas in the event of a fall:
Area 1: highest risk of injury
Area 2: moderate risk of injury
Area 3: lowest risk of injury
EN 17092 is the latest certification standard for motorcycle clothing,
used to certify all motorcycle clothing, whether they are designed for
professional use or for leisure.
The EN 17092 standard includes 5 certification classes, which
correspond to 5 test levels, with specific protection requirements for 3
risk areas.
The 5 certification classes adapted to the various motorcycle practices are
AAA, AA, A, B and C:
• Class AAA/AA/A clothing = protection against abrasion, shocks, tear,
stitching tear + guarantee of ergonomics and safety.
• Class B clothing = equivalent protection to class A clothing, except for
shock absorption since class B products do not include protection against
impacts.
• Class C clothing = specialised clothing solely designed to maintain one
