Nova Scotia has a stable publishing industry,
including at least nine publishers that have been
operating for more than a decade. Those companies
employ full-time professionals, as well as part-time
workers and freelancers. They mostly publish fiction
and non-fiction books written by Canadian authors,
especially Nova Scotians.

Crônicas de Myríade (The Chronicles of Myríade) is a series of fantasy
novels written in Portuguese, and self-published in Brazil. So far, two
books of the series have been published, in addition to two spin-offs.
I’m currently writing the next volume.

Achei! (Found it!) is a puzzle magazine for children. In each
page, the observer is challenged to spot a few small objects
in a scene. In the last six years, I’ve worked in more than

While attending the English for Academic Purposes program at NSCC,
I wrote a five-page research paper on Asperger’s Syndrome, and
delivered a twenty-minute presentation about the topic for classmates
and guest spectators.
I had also done similar projects when I was in Brazil: two 10-page
research papers: ‘Illustrated characters: Creation for use in business
communication’ and ‘Intertextuality in advertising: Hortifruti’, and a 60-page
monograph: ‘Shop window as a means of communication’.
