7. SENDER
• is also the speaker or the
source of the message that is
encoded through symbols that
are verbal and/or non verbal

8. MESSAGE
• any information or anything that
the speaker/ sender wants to
communicate

9. MEDIUM
• is the form which the speaker /sender conveys the message which
may probably be speech, conversation, letter, letter, email, blog,
newspaper, book and the like

10. CHANNEL
• is the mode, method, or means of
sending or expressing the
message, which may perhaps
through any of the five senses.
Channel may also be sound and
lightwaves and digital audio and
video signals.

11. LISTENER
• receives and decodes the message

12. FEEDBACK
• is the receiver’s response
verbally or non-verbally. There
is no such thing as zero
feedback

13. CONTEXT
• is the situation or environment in
which the communication takes place
(includes time, place, event as well as
the feelings, perceptions, beliefs,
attitudes, and relationships)

14. NOISE
• is also called interference of
distraction and anything that
impedes or gets in the way of
accurately sending, receiving and
interpreting the message, whether
from the sender or receiver or
external from the environment.

• Is communication vital to our daily lives? Discuss.
• Differentiate face to face communication from mediated
communication.
• Do you agree that there is no such thing as “zero feedback”? Explain
and give example.
• Cite an example where what is being mentioned is out of context.
