INTRODUCTIONon Bookkeeping
 Small-business bookkeeping involves setting up a framework, choosing a method and keeping track of details.
 Bookkeeping is the backbone of specific business center accounting and financial systems, and can impact the
growth and success of small business.
 It encompasses a variety of day to day tasks, including basic data entry, categorizing transactions, managing
accounts receivable and running payroll.
 Now a day, accounting software makes it possible to do much of this in private way, though any one may decide to
outsource some basic bookkeeping tasks to an online bookkeeping to grow their own small business.

Statement of the problems
 Some Studies on SMEs have disclosed that most of small businesses fail to maintain proper accounting system due
to management inefficiencies brought about by poor record keeping.
An adequate financial record-keeping-system will provide the required information to assist SMEs to make sound
decisions for future plans.
 Moreover, in Harari regional state, there is no research done to establish how accounting influences performance.
Hence the study investigates the effects of bookkeeping on the growth of SMEs in Harari regional state.

Objective of the study
 General Objective - The general objective of this research is about accessing how MSE in Harari regional state keeps
their accounting system, and also to understand and come up with better accounting record system approach for
their own accounting system.
SpecificObjectives:-To understand whether SMEs in Harari regional state use book keeping as accounting tool .
- To determine the types of book keeping among the small and medium enterprises in Harari regional state .
- Generating various configuration models by fitting studied rear spoiler on studied baseline.
-To understand the effects of not maintaining book of account.
-To recommend better practice on how to engage record keeping for MSE.

The scope of the study
-This study is mainly focused to study the accounting practice which is used by MSE located in Harare
regional state. As there is difficulty in access of the overall official documents, hence the scope of the study
is mainly limited only on understanding of the respondents opinion.
