and primary school

• Active play 10 week programme
• Play CHAMPS
• Pef Programme in 2018
3. Confidence and self-esteem
• I understand that my feelings and reactions can change depending
upon what is happening within and around me. This helps me to
understand my own behaviour and the way others behave. HWB 0-04a
/ HWB 1-04a / HWB 2-04a / HWB 3-04a / HWB 4-04a
• How did the programme achieve this? - fostering creativity through
games - challenges that can only be achieved through collaboration.
• Why was it successful – real life application of skills – tailored support
based on the needs of the individual classes – an inclusive
environment challenging behavioural difficulties head on.
4. Legacy of Active Play at Miller Primary
• Sessions provided teachers with CPD on conflict management
demonstrated by the Jeely play workers which they have brought into
the classroom environment.
• Play sessions have increased during curricular time throughout the
school. Teachers use these sessions to provide a practical based
approach to delivering social and emotional wellbeing outcomes.
• SfLW feel more confident allowing children to work things out for
themselves, with their guidance if necessary. Developing key life skills :
resilience and problem solving.
