2. How an increase in physical activity was
achieved
• Staff and young people leading various fun physical activities that are inclusive to all
pupils.
• Increasing pupil’s access to physical activity during school time.
• Children and teacher’s learning a range of games using a variety of equipment or on
many occasions no equipment.
• Training Active Champs within the school, allowing them to continue providing
physical activity out with Active Play sessions to other pupils.
• Young people are able to increase their fitness level using their own creative skills.
• Adapting sessions to meet the needs of individuals.
4. The benefits of Active Play
• Young people increase fitness, which supports weight control.
• It improves social skills and allows young people to form friendships.
• It improves decision making and problem solving skills.
• It enhances young peoples communication skills.
• Young people increase their teamwork and confidence abilities.
• Improves concentration within the class, which enhances performance.

HI5 award (SCQ level 2) which was
presented as part of their
graduation.
