4. Background
• Repositories such as DSpace, CKAN and Dataverse does not
present content in a visual way
• Need to facilitate integrated insights from the repositories
containing tens of thousands of items from across the
CGIAR centers, research programs and partners
• To provide new way to access content across different
repositories and offer more value from the content that is
already available

5. Agricultural Research e-Seeker: What it is
• Content aggregation tool
• Combines different content types and sources using
compatible metadata and standards (CG-Core, DC)
• Harvests multiple repositories (CGSpace, MELspace,
FISHspace)
• Will ultimately include other repository types e.g. Dataverse

• Explores and visualizes content around different
- metadata fields
- content collections and categories
- search queries
• Shows relationships between different metadata filters
• Navigate single/multiple repository content in visual
ways

• Generates reports for queries
• Visualizations and reports based on content from different
repositories can be exported
• Enhances content discovery for users, facilitating analysis,
learning, reporting and decisions

• Has public usage data from DSpace and Altmetric
• Preserves original repository configurations
• Exposes inconsistencies
• Configuration of the Open Repositories Explorer and
Visualizer (OpenRXV)
- Standard tool for public usage – open source contribution

• New ToR to improve AReS and OpenRXV
- additional reports for different users and use
cases
- improved filters, icons, text, erroneous
values in exports etc
• Promote the tool more widely
