2. Character Analysis of Macbeth Essay
"Macbeth" a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, portrays, how the main character Macbeth,
transforms from a war hero, to a murdering villain. Macbeth starts out as the thane of Glamis and
steadily rises to become King of Scotland. The higher Macbeth rose on his road of power the more
corrupt and evil he became. The character change of Macbeth ignites the whole theme of the play.
Macbeth is shown as a vigorous war hero in the opening scene. "And fortune, on his damned
quarrel smiling showed like a rebel's whore. But all's too weak for brave Macbeth." (1.2 16.18) The
captain expressing the braveness of great Macbeth in Scotland's battle with the invading Norway
hordes. It didn't take long for the people of...show more content...
Macbeth decides that he wont murder the king. Lady Macbeth's determination to become queen
influences Macbeth's decision.
"If it were done when tis done, then twere it be done quickly" (1.7 1–2) Macbeth is toying with the
notion to murder King Duncan. Macbeth would not be satisfied until he ruled all Scotland! An idea
turned into a priority, Macbeth wasn't thinking of killing the king he was sure of it. "Is this a
dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand...."(2.1 42–43) Macbeth's vision turned out
to be a false creation of the mind that led macbeth to believe that fate was telling him to kill King
Duncan.
Near the end of the play Macbeths true evilness comes out. Macbeth paranoia leads him to believe
that everyone is out to get him. " So is he mine, and in such bloody distance that every minute of his
thrusts against my hear'st life" (3.1 128–130) Macbeth grows suspicious of Banquo. The witch's
predictions of Banquo's kids becoming king engulfed all thoughts in Macbeth's head. "I'll make
assurance double sure." (4.1 93) Macbeth is making sure Banquo and his son fleance are murdered.
Macbeth felt the it was best to hire murders to handle fleance and Banquo. Macbeth is overcome
with evil. "From this moment the very firstling of my heart shall be the firstling of my mind" (4.1

English 123 – Composition II: Assignment Three
Tiffany O'Neill
Southern New Hampshire University
While I appreciated that one of my peers provided feedback on my work, I feel that the feedback
that was provided did not fulfill the assignment. My peer did not provide detailed feedback on my
paper that could be adequately incorporated in my review and revisions. Most of the information
that was provided as feedback were simply statements that reiterated what the prompt question was.
Please see the below feedback provided to me by my peer.
It seems as though my peer's argument is the flexibility of working from home benefits people
better. Yes, I feel as though my peer has addressed Opposing Viewpoints. The section of the
summary that I need clarity for is her problem. Are you trying to find a way to get work–forces into
to telecommuting only? *My problem is finding an effective way to better manage a company's
workforce to increase profitability by implementing alternative flexible work options for their
employees. (Johnson, 2017)
I wish I had received peer feedback that was as thorough and detailed as I had provided for one of
my peers. I feel that the feedback I received was not adequate and was not beneficial which
negatively impacted me. Because of the possibility of a lack of effort and detail by my peers, I feel
that peer review assignments that directly impact a student's grade, like this one, should not be
required.

4. My Teenage Years
My teenage years were a rollercoaster. For the most part, I had a lot of growing up to do and to
figure out my future ahead of me. Like most teenagers, I was mainly focused on my own
difficulties and great moments. Many times, I found myself in complicated situations ashamed to
talk about. This course and textbook, Adolescent psychology, allowed me to reflect on my
teenage year. There are better ways to explain the aspects in my younger years. I will be going
over my family, friends and even myself to analyze my adolescent years. There were more
supportive answers to explain a few of my teenage years. As well as, issues most teenagers have
gone through. There are also explanations on relations with family and friends playing a role through
my youth. The importance and impact it can have on young adults. There always growth and
development going throughout our lives.
I think the unusual part was my parent's relationship. They were not together but lived together.
This often threw off relations with each other. My dad at moved out but then moved back in
because of immigration. This brought my parents back together once they figured out the legal
orders. Yet, a year went by and the relationship did not seem to work out. At the time I thought it
would be best if my parents would separate. I grew frustrated my mom would use the excuse that
they were together because of us. Honestly, that hurt me more than wanting them to stay together. If
they were not happy together what's the point of having them together? I told my parents at one
point they did not have to do it for us. I remember my brother crying but of the idea of my father
moving away rather than them not being together. In the textbook, there are advantages of them
staying together because of economically reasons (287). But my father had his own problems that
dragged us down. There were more pros to my parents divorcing right away then trying to stay
together. If it is economic reason is why most people stayed my mother used because of the children
for financial reasoning and not the emotional toll on us. I believe the unusual part was the lack of
family attention. My relationship with my family was complicated. My father was rarely in my

Having a Bachelor's, in addition to my years of experience, makes me eligible to be promoted to an
Operations Manager, or a Director at my current job. I can also be a Billing Manager at a hospital.
All of which are careers I am interested in. The final plan in my academic future is to earn my
Master's Degree in Social Work. After completion of my Master's, I can pursue the career of my
dreams, a Hospice Social Worker.
REFLECTIONS OF TOPICS IN CLASS
I have learned so much in this class to prepare me for a successful college experience. There were
some topics that caught my attention more than others. Such as, time and stress management,
University resources, and critical thinking.
Time and Stress Management
How I manage time is a reflection of what I value. Managing my time corresponds to how
successful I will be in college and throughout life. Knowing and setting priorities to meet goals,
carrying out plans, taking control of time, and staying focused are some events that are involved
with time management. For many of us, balancing school with work and family is the greatest
challenge involved with prioritizing. Good advance planning will help in meeting these challenges.
6. Staying focused is usually difficult, especially for first–year students. Staying focused entails
remembering and dedicating to the most important purpose for being in college. Sacrificing
unnecessary commitments and keeping my

7. Client Centered Approach
The client centred therapy was developed by Carl Rogers in 1942 and was based on his personal
experience with clients. He believed that everyone is capable of solving their own problems if the
right conditions are provided. He proposed that the therapist's role was to listen to clients, be
empathic with them, and accept them for who they were rather than offer deep interpretations of
unconscious material or mechanistically change behaviors. He emphasized the real relationship
between the therapist and the client rather than the transference relationship, and suggested that
therapists should be open and genuine with their clients. He summed this up in six conditions that he
thought were necessary for successful therapy. These conditions...show more content...
Abraham Maslow created a hierarchy of needs that needs to be followed in process towards self
actualisation, this is called Maslow's triangle. He says:"All the evidence that we have indicates that
it is reasonable to assume in practically every human being, and certainly in almost every new–born
baby, that there is an active will towards health, an impulse towards growth, or towards
actualization." Actualizations tendency can be often suppressed when person experience luck
of positive regard while growing up but can never be destroyed. In my personal life I can think of
few occasions when counselling skills helped me to understand others and at the same time help
them to understand themselves. I would like to describe here two of these occasions that stuck to
my mind the most. In the first situation I found myself almost forcing myself to try to empathize
with one of my flat mates. I believe that reason for it was that I was personally involved in this
problematic situation, felt hurt and upset with this person. My flat mates name is Mike, he is 43
years of age, and he is single. He lives in the shared house and is a sociable person who likes to go
out with his friends, he likes to play tennis and he is a big football supporter. Also Mike can have
a very short temper and when angry he becomes very loud and can be verbally abusive. From what
he says, he enjoys his job and is comfortable with his life at the moment. I have lived in the same

8. Machiavelli's Ideas
More than anything else we've read this year, Machiavelli is extremely difficult for me to respond
to. I find myself agreeing with a lot of his ideas (at least I think I agree with his ideas, his writing
jumbles my head around), and most of my comments come from a place of unwarranted rage.
One complaint I have is that I think he goes back on his word a lot. The thing is, Machiavelli
shoves so much information down your throat every sentence that everything I've read kind of
melds together in a strange sort of limbo. For example, I'm fairly sure he talks about the
importance of being kind and virtuous in the first reading we did, but in the second a lot of it is
about being merciless. Maybe those were supposed to apply to different situations....show more

That means that I mostly put everything in context of American history, which probably isn't
what Machiavelli would want seeing as his whole book is supposed to be on principalities.
Making a connection to some other historical event really helps me out. For example, normally I
would read the line, "...The enemy will as a matter of course burn and pillage the countryside
when he arrives..." and I would've just been really bummed out by it (Machiavelli 37). But, in
Cold War we just watched a documentary on the Vietnam War. And so, for the rest of the passage
I kept drawing parallels between whatever the hell Machiavelli was talking about and the Vietnam
War. When Machiavelli said, "So the subjects will identify themselves even more with their
prince, since now that their houses have already been burned and their lands pillaged in his
defence they will consider that there is a strong bond of obligation on his part," I got really
excited because that's exactly happened in Vietnam after the U.S. firebombed them a million times
(Machiavelli 37). It's comforting to know that Machiavelli isn't just spewing a bunch of terrible
advice and making the reader fall for it. I really like the book and the ideas so far, I just wish that
someone could put it in some kindergarten–level terminology so I could read

9. 123 Test Reflection
For the 123 Test, my results showed that my openness to experience is low, my conscientiousness
is very low, my extraversion is very low, my agreeableness is high, and my natural reactions are
very high. The descriptions given to me included down–to–earth, spontaneous, reserved,
compassionate, and prone to worry. I think that the test describes me pretty well, however I feel that
my score on conscientiousness should have at least been in the mid range. I also think that the test
is valid and tests what it is supposed to. I don't think the test is reliable in the sense that a person can
choose whatever choice they want. I also think that sometimes a person may make different choices,
especially on questions that were harder for the test taker to answer.
My score on the Psychology Today test gave me a 47 on a scale of 100 for my success orientation.

I feel that these scores pretty much match how I actually am. I think I am a bit more organized than
the test concluded but the other results were pretty accurate. I think that the test is valid in what it
wanted to test, however like the other tests, I think that the reliability is low because sometimes
people's answers can change on a day–to–day basis for some of the questions. I think that the three
tests supported some of the thoughts that I already had about my personality. The 123 Test and
the Big Five test were pretty accurate, however I did not agree with the description given for the
Psychology Today test. I think that the test was not beneficial because it gave a score that was only
based on scoring above or below the 50th percentile. That means that scores like mine that were at
47 were not as accurate to my actual personality as they could

10. Essay On English 123
English 123 is a requirement for almost all majors, including mine. To meet this requirement, I was
given a choice a take English Composition CLEP and English 123. I decided to take this course
with the hope to improve my writing and critical thinking skills. Even though it was hard to take an
English class on deployment, I am very glad that I took it. My time is well spent on this course.
Among many things, I learned out of this course, here are a three outcome that is worth mentioning.
First, responding orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas and
meaning of diverse texts. Second, making appropriate rhetorical decisions to achieve the purpose of
a written work, based on an understanding of ethical issues and underlying assumptions and values in
the argument. Third, demonstrating understanding of the interdependent relationship of reading,
writing, and thinking and reflect on their thinking as part of a larger community of thinkers.
I learned how to respond orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas
and meaning of diverse texts by composing summary and strong response, and exploratory research
paper. Summary and strong response paper taught me how to be firm and fair way to thinking. This
is very useful at work. I can use this to improve my...show more content...

11. 123rd Street Rap Poem Analysis
The theme of 123rd Street rap is one that can't be compared to any other poem. The reason for this
is that it has such a deep reality to it and it is only a poem. One good reason to love this poem is it
show someone to appreciate the life that one has and to not take what you have for granted. The
line "Automatic bullets bounce off stoop steps"(Perdomo 2) should make anyone who doesn't
live this everyday reality appreciate the life that they live. The poet saw the life that people have
to live and put it into words and makes you understand in just a few lines. Perdomo really paints a
picture in the eyes of someone who goes through a harsh upbringing. It is evident to see that the
person that he is talking about is having an internal conflict. This is noticeable by the description
of the neighborhood, even though it is described to be a beautiful place it is also made out to be a
very violent place that many may not survive. The author uses theme is a clear but unclear way
making the reader realize that life is all about how one can perceive it weather the situation is good
or bad. When first reading this poem the theme might be hard to understand for some but with lines
such as "Church bells bong for drunken mourners"(Perdomo 6) it is evident that it is one that
should be taken into consideration. The mentality of Perdomo is visible to comprehend with his
downplay of life in Harlem. Although he uses bad things to describe life below the poverty line in
this city he able to

At Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly), patent expiration is part of everyday business. However, Prozac,
Lilly's flagship product and market leader in the most popular class of pharmaceuticals used to treat
depression – the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) was definitely a cause for concern
(Ofek & Laufner, p.1). Patent expiration meant that generics would flood the market and Prozac's

Capstone Reflection Essay~ by Sophia Plourde 8A 5/26/16
While doing my Capstone project I realized that I am too broad with my research. I tend to think
really big which in most cases is not a bad thing, but when doing projects such as the Capstone
project I need to focus on facts more closely related to my topic.
My teacher gave me a helpful analogy for researching; "Make a bullseye in the middle put need to
know. In the second ring put nice to know. In the outermost ring put good to know."
This analogy will really help me, and is really helping me be more specific with my research. Which
will help get me better grades, and more from future projects.
