3. Data Processing
Data entry system for each questionniare was prepared
SLRD IT group was trained by TCDC (Technical
Cooperation among Developing Countries) IT
experts
CSPro software was used in developing data entry
system
Collected data were encoded in 5 different data center
Data cosistency check, edit and tabulation and
finalized implementation was carried out in
Central Office.

6. Only 85 % of the total villages were
covered because of security problems in

7. Based on census results, eight thematic papers were
written by eight local writers
The thematic papers have the purpose of analyzing
the current situation of the agricultural sector
and any trends or changes from the 2003 census
Overall census analysis and papers were presented to
government stake holders in November 2012
Editors were hired to finalized the contents and format
of the census report and MCA 2010 results were
printed iun two main publications

10. Lesson learned
Data processing works were done in 5 different data
centers and staff were trained in manual editing and
data entry
The quality of the manual editing was a problem
Major problem was data inconsistencies within the
section questionniare and
There were also data inconsistencies from one
setcion to another
Data was done over period of ten months
Verification and corrections of errors were done for
three months

11. Preparation for 2020 Census
Integration in NSDS
New Myanmar Statistical Law was enacted in 2015
The Myanmar NSDS has suggested several measures to integrate the
different sectoral statistical systems into the NSS.
In Myanmar, with the highly decentralized NSS
Six different cluster groups were formed to strengthen coordination
1. National account and Macro economics
2. Cival Registration and Vital statistics
3. Agriculture and Rural Statistics
4. Survey Coordination and statistical standards
5. Energy and environment
6. Social statistics 11
12. The recent changes in the ministries have brought more
departments in the fold of Ministry of Agriculture
Livestock and Irrigation.

agricultural statistics
Myanmar next agricultural census is scheduled in 2020
