transformation. We develop expertise, tools and policies to
embrace digital change and encourage partnerships that foster
innovation. We make it easier for people to use cultural heritage

Europeana Foundation to advocate for the fundamental role of

A Pan-European network
A Europe-wide network of national, regional, domain and
thematic aggregators, enabling cultural institutions to share their
collections online on Europeana and open it up to new audiences
Connecting content and people
Aggregators work with cultural institutions and collectors to
gather authentic, trustworthy and robust data. They make this
content available to a broader audience via their own services,
Europeana and infrastructures for education and research.

Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed (NDE)

Nationale Strategie Digitaal
Erfgoed (2021-2024)
Het NDE heeft tot doel de maatschappelijke waarde te vergroten
van cultureel erfgoed informatie van bibliotheken, archieven, musea
en andere culturele instellingen.
Sinds 2015 vastgelegd in een Nationale Strategie Digitaal Erfgoed
(vernieuwde versie gelanceerd voor 2021-2024)
Deze strategie biedt perspectief op de ontwikkeling van een
landelijke, sectoroverschrijdende infrastructuur van digitaal
erfgoed voorzieningen.
Het richt zich op langdurige samenwerking tussen de overheid en
de instellingen op nationaal, regionaal en lokaal niveau.
Het gaat om het organiseren van het netwerk van mensen en
informatie.

Levert beter bruikbare informatie uit de bronnen op
Gebruik duurzame identifiers, bekende definities, publiceer Linked

Relatie NDE - Digitale Collectie
● Digitale Collectie als gemeenschappelijke voorziening ten behoeve van de
erfgoedinstellingen in het Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed (NDE)
● Gebruik maken en voortbouwen op de gedistribueerde voorzieningen, vb:
○ Dataset Register - datasets Digitale Collectie in NDE dataset register (in
ontwikkeling)
○ LOD voorzieningen - inzet LOD Aggregator (in ontwikkeling)
● Data zo dicht mogelijk bij de bron ophalen, indien mogelijk als Linked Data
○ Waar nog geen Linked Data wordt gepubliceerd blijft Digitale Collectie een rol
als aggregator vervullen
● Uiteindelijk kan ook Europeana van de NDE voorzieningen en de bijdrage aan de
datakwaliteit proﬁteren, vb: persistent identiﬁers, gestandaardiseerde termen, linked
(open) data.

Doorontwikkeling Digitale Collectie
De rol die Digitale Collectie de komende jaren zal spelen in het veranderend
landschap van informatienetwerken en binnen de NDE voorzieningen is in
ontwikkeling.
Technische en organisatorische doorontwikkeling
Dit gaat gepaard met:
● Nieuwe naam
● Nieuwe website
● Rebranding en communicatie - als voorziening van het NDE

Europeana is:
● … het digitale platform voor Europees Cultureel Erfgoed
● … een initiatief van de Europese Unie

meer dan 3000 erfgoed professionals
