Stakeholder management
3. There is a significant overlap between usability and accessibility. Accessibility
primarily focuses on people with disabilities.
Effective accessibility solutions must be based on deeper user
understanding and validation through user research instead of just following
guidelines and ticking boxes.
5. This depends on your goals and resources. There are two possible options
Include some users with accessibility needs at every stage of the product
development. This will ensure that people with disabilities drive your product’s
innovation and accessibility
Use only participants with access needs at select stages of your research. For
example, when you need to check your product for accessibility before shipping it.
Evaluate your project's needs and other constraints to decide what's most
appropriate.

8. How to create a strong presentation
Know your audience - Find out the interests of the people you will present to &
tailor your presentation for them e.g marketing or managemen
Start with an overview - Share a roadmap or table of content or establish context
for a start. You want to first introduce your audience to the topic before diving into
the solution.
Discuss how your research impacts the big picture or how it supports the
company goals
Tell a story - Include examples of real users (this is where user personas come
handy)- Use quotes, photos, clips from usability studies
Show numbers - Use data, charts, graphs, to illustrate important insights. The goal
is to keep the attention of the audience
Less is more when it comes to text
Provide recommendation for next steps - Best shown in one slide e.g changes to
make on the product designs, additional research to be done, future meetings to
schedule etc
Leave time for questions
12. Strategies for effective stakeholder management
Regular meetings: Schedule regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss
progress, address concerns, and make decisions
Stakeholder map: Create a stakeholder map to visualize the relationships and
influence of different stakeholders
Communication plan: Develop a communication plan that outlines the
frequency and format of communication with each stakeholder group
Documentation: Document research findings, recommendations, and
decisions to maintain transparency and accountability
Metrics and measurement: Establish metrics to measure the impact of UX
research on product usability and business outcomes
Seek feedback: Regularly seek feedback from stakeholders to improve the
research process and communication strategies.
By implementing these principles and strategies, UX researchers can effectively
manage stakeholders, ensure alignment with organizational goals, and maximize the
impact of their work on the user experience.
