relacionados à astronomia contribuiu para
o uso da trigonometria como ferramenta
auxiliar. Os hindus e os árabes também
tiveram participação incisiva no seu

Mas até então a trigonometria era uma
parte da astronomia. Foi na Europa, por
volta do século XV, que a trigonometria foi
separada da astronomia, surgindo inúmeras
aplicações em diversas áreas do
conhecimento. O termo trigonometria é de
origem grega e está associado ao triângulo
e suas medidas.

tangente. Entendemos por seno a
relação existente entre o cateto
oposto e a hipotenusa; por cosseno, a
relação existente entre o cateto
