We had our first lesson in the Methodist
Church with Gary, our fantastic teacher.
4. He divided us into 4 groups and made us do
many things such us introducing ourselves.
5. He also taught us some funny tongue-twisters and
interesting facts about London.
He taught us how to become a “perfect guide”:
1)Be friendly
2)Be fit! Energy
3)Strong voice
4)Know your route
5) Safety and travel
6)Entertain & Inform
7)Control large groups-lead
8)Good memory
9)Advertising + Marketing
10)Know your subject
6. In the afternoon we went on «The Royal tour»
Buckingham Palace
Green Park
8. Day 3: Tuesday 30th January 2018
We went to the beautiful “British Museum”, Gary
divided us into small mixed groups. Each group
was sent to a different room inside the museum.
There we had to chose the artistic work we liked
the most, study it, and then explain it to the others.
We felt like real museum guides and it wasn’t so
challenging as we thought!
9. After that, we headed to Covent Garden , a big
quarter of London. There, Gary had organized a
Treasure Hunt for us. It was really fun! Before
going to the B&B we went also to Piccadilly
Circus.
10. Day 4: Wednesday 31st January 2018
We started the day with another lesson with
Gary. He talked a lot about the City of London.
It was nice and interesting. We also had to
look for more curiosities about the City so we
got to know much more about London!
11. After lunch we went to Piccadilly Circus, which is the
most famous gathering point in London. Here we
divided into groups again and Gary asked us to go
around and interview people about the things they
liked and disliked about London. It was great to
make this poll ourselves.
12. The lesson went really fast and then we
rushed to see the London Eye. It was such
a unique experience! The view was
spectacular and, luckily enough, it was a
sunny day so we were able to see the entire
city from above!
13. Later that evening we had dinner in a restaurant
called “Planet Hollywood”. We’d never seen
something like that before. The walls were covered
with famous people posters and there were a
number of reproductions of some film settings.
14. At 09.30 we met at South
Kensington Station. We
were really happy to visit
the world’s largest museum
of decorative arts and
design. We’re talking about
the “Victoria & Albert
Museum”, founded in 1852.
Here we did our workshop
each team had to describe a
specific object in order to
be more confident and to
learn how to speak in front
of people how a real tour
guide usually do.
Day 5: Tuesday 1st February 2018
15. Then visiting the Tower Bridge was a
wonderful surprise. To recall this special
moment we took a lot of photos.
16. After we ate in an
Italian Restaurant
named ”STRADA”
we reached the 35th level
one of the highest
skyscreapers in London, the
SKY GARDEN. We enjoyed
this beautiful and
unforgettable experience
with a wonderful view of
the city. At 7 pm we went to
Lyceum Theatre to watch
the show “The Lion King”.
At the end we took the
tube to return to the hotel.
17. Day 6: Friday 2nd February 2018
At 09:30 we met at Nothing Hill Gate to follow the
final lesson of our course. Our test was to organise
a real tour in order to create a kind of plan of the
city to offer to our guests. Then we received the
certificates for our work here in London.
18. In the afternoon we had a walhthrough “the
Oxford Street”, the europe’s busiest shopping
street, with around half a million daily visitors and
approximately 300 shops. On this day we had to say
goodbye to Gary. After 7:00 p.m. we had dinner “Fratelli
la Bufala’s”.
19. Day 7: Saturday 3rd February 2018

one went to "Madame Tussaud’s" and the
other one went to "Natural History Museum".
20. Day 8: Sunday 4th February 2018
At 5:00 a.m. we left the hotel to go to London
Luton Airport and at 9:40 a.m. We were very sad to
leave London and, at the same time, satisfied of the
competences acquired we flew straight on to
Catania. We arrived in Barcellona at 16:30 p.m.
