Lionel Richie is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer from Tuskegee, Alabama. He first found fame in the 1970s as a member of the Commodores, writing and singing several number one hits. After leaving the band in 1982, Richie had a very successful solo career writing mostly love songs, including several number one hits on the pop charts such as "Endless Love," "You Are," and "Stuck on You." In 1985, he co-wrote "We Are the World" with Michael Jackson to benefit famine relief in Africa. The song featured over 80 well-known artists and was also a number one hit.
