Manufacturing route card system with Xero integration.pdf
1. Manufacturing route card system with Xero integration
The client is a CNC company. CNC is commonly used in manufacturing for
machining metal and plastic parts.
They had an existing manual system for filling out route cards. When parts
are created - a route card needs to be created. There may be numerous
route cards for a single order. E.g. An order may contain 10 line items. The
items can be created at different times and signed off on.
A system was built using ASP.NET and C#.
- Load invoices from Xero
- Load line items from Xero into a selectable list box
- Use a route card template and add the data to the document using
code.
- Save the document to a PDF.
- Allow the user to select a staff member to sign the route card. Add a
signature using code.
- Upload the PDF to the attached files for the relevant invoice in Xero.
- Keep a record in the database of which items had been added to the
route card to exclude them from future selection.
3. 3. Route cards are generated in code with line items and without invoice
date or signature.
4. User selects the staff member and invoice date. Clicking the button
signs the route card and uploads it to Xero using the Xero API.
4. 5. The user can navigate to the invoice in Xero and find the generated,
signed, dated route card included with the invoice.
6. The user can preview the signed route card PDF within Xero.
