13. SWOT
Strengths
Vodafone has more than 53 million
customers (Aug 2013). It is the 2nd largest
cellular provider in India.
The company has covered the entire Indian
nation with its network.
Opportunities
Vodafone Essar is embarking on another
joint venture with Bharti Airtel and Idea
Cellular to create a new independent tower
company called Indus Towers.
Vodafone launched the Apple iPhone 3G to
be used on its 17 circle 2G network.
Weaknesses
Until recently Vodafone did not own its
own towers, which was a particular strength
of some of its competitors such as Airtel.
Towers are important if your company
wishes to provide wide coverage nationally.
Threats
Its new in the market and have lots of
competitors.
