What to expect if schools close due to coronavirus
- 1. What will happen if schools close?

- 3. Your teachers will give you
- 4. Learning • You will be expected to continue learning at home • This will be harder as you will not have your teachers or friends to help you • BUT this can also mean you can focus on what you need with no distraction
- 5. Reading • Read your reading book EVERY DAY • Aim to read for at least 30 minutes each day • Complete Reading Tasks set in your exercise book • Log on to Google Classroom to see if your teacher has set reading activities
- 6. Writing • Try to do SOME writing EVERY DAY • Choose a writing activity set in your exercise book • Log on to Google Classroom to see if your teacher has set writing activities • Practice handwriting
- 7. Maths • Try to do some maths EVERY DAY • Log on to Mathletics and complete tasks set by your teacher (1000 points each week) • Log onto TT Rockstars • Complete maths tasks set in your exercise book • Log on to Google Classroom to see if your teacher has set writing activities
- 8. Other subjects • Your teacher will give you a home learning grid to complete each week • Choose one activity from the grid each day to complete in your exercise book or on Google Docs
- 9. Google Classroom • Your teacher will set assignments on Google Classroom • You can ask your teacher questions on the ‘stream’ each day if you need help • Log onto Google Classroom everyday
- 10. Play • It is VERY important that you make time for play • Make sure play is not just on a screen • Go outside to play • Play with toys or board games • Make up your own games
- 11. Prayer • Don’t forget to make time to pray every day • Remember to be thankful for what we have • Pray for the protection of ourselves and others • Pray for our leaders
- 12. Keep washing hands • before leaving home • on arrival at school • after using the toilet • after breaks and sporting activities • before food preparation • before eating any food, including snacks • before leaving school
- 13. Prayer Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress. Sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
