4. What is E-Waste
?
The term E-Waste applies to all the wastes from or caused by
electronic items. It is a waste consisting of any broken and
unwanted electrical or electronic appliances.
Electronic Waste – Monitors, Televisions, Computers, CD, DVD,
Printers, Telephones etc.
Electrical Waste – Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Air Conditioner,
Vacuum Cleaners etc.
It is a point of concern considering that many components of such equipment
are considered toxic and are not biodegradable.

It is estimated that by 2025,
India will dump around 1851337
MT of E-Waste.

India is the 3rd biggest country
in the world which produces the

and USA.

are likely to create adverse impact on

recycle material by safe methods, dispose of e-waste by suitable
techniques to reduce its adverse impacts on environment.
