• Adolf Hitler was born April 20, 1889 in a small town called BRAUNAU Am Inn, Austria.
His dad was Customs official, Alois Hitler. And his mom, Klara Hitler, was Alois's third
wife.
• Adolf was 1 of 6 children - 3 of who died at early ages

school.
• Adolf wanted to become an artist.
• His father wanted him to become a
civil servant, but after his father died,
he dropped out of high school and
attempted to get into the Vienna
Academy of Fine Arts -He did not
succeed
• after his mother died when he was 19
he became a drifter who slept outside
and ate at soup kitchens

joined a Bavarian Unit of the German army
•He won an IVORY CROSS twice for his bravery in battle, then
rose to the rank of Lance Corporal
•At the end of WWI he was hospitalised due to Blinding by A
mustard gas attack in Belgium
•He was angry when WW1 ended and blamed the Jews and
Communists
•He hated the signing of the Treaty of Versailles

Party ( They related in mutual hate of the
Treaty of Versailles and A German

•In 1920 He changed the name of the party to
Nationalist Socialist German Worker’s party
(NAZIS)
• Hitler drafted a platform of 25 points
• Revoke Versailles Treaty
• Revoke civil rights ofJews
• Confiscate any war profits

began strengthening his position.
• He called for new elections and burned
down the parliament building the day
before, but blamed it on the communists

parliament.

control he passed a bill that essentially
made him a dictator.

them arrested.

passed laws that deprived

• This led to more violence and anti
- Semitism amongst the German
people
• On November 9. 1938 Nazi mobs
began attacking Jewish homes
and businesses known as
Kristallnacht. This began the
process of eliminating Jews from
Germany.
