2. “It is difficult to make predictions,
especially about the future
(Karl Kristian Steincke)
3. 1 | homework
Take the rising costs of real estate
and office management, plus the
challenge of commuting to work,
plus the massive transition to
working from home during Corona
times, and you get the mega-trend of
“new ways of employment”: flexible
hours, working from home, and
balancing work and family. We’re
suddenly forced to manage
productivity and while maintaining
our company's DNA.
4. 2 | Decentralization of production
The butterfly flapped his wings in China and all production
and supply sources froze.
It’s only reasonable to believe that companies will seek to
diversify their production and supply sources and maybe
even move some to local production.
This will bring changes in production costs and in the
management of multiple supply sources.
5. 3 | Baby Boom
Take our natural sense
of survival and lots of
free time and you’ll get
the 2021 baby boom
effect.
6. 4 | Divorce Rates
Couples who began the
Corona era with a minor
relationship crisis might end
in divorce when everything
settles.
Lawyers and therapists, be
prepared.
7. 5 | E-commerce Booming
Since all stores are closed, more
retailers, industries and consumers are
moving fast to online shopping. That will
create another boost to this already
growing trend.
8. 6 | E-learning
Learning from home: Schools,
universities, and non-formal
educators all had to quickly
adjust for homeschooling.
That will definitely change the
ways that institutions use
digital and video learning in
the future.
9. 7 | VFM pleasures
After insolation ends , people
will look for compensation
and treats like fashion items,
travel and luxury. But since
people will have less money
to spend (yikes, economy
crisis ahead), we’ll see the
rise of value-for-money items
and services, which offer
great reward for less money.
10. 8 | Ecology vs Economy
I believe we’ll see polarization
in opinions when dealing with
global warming and other
ecological issues. While some
will see the spread of the virus
as nature’s way of surviving the
hazards of human behavior,
others will feel that ecological
issues are of less concern
when dealing with a global
economic crisis.
11. 9 | Effortless Health
We are the worst when it comes
to taking care of ourselves. The
current situation will affect the
ways we treat our health, but
we’ll continue to look for easy
solutions that require minimal
effort.
12. 10 | Back to Basics
In times of uncertainty we
tend to go go back to the
fundamentals: family values,
basic foods, nature and
basic clothing.
We’ll see this trend rise in
food, design and fashion.
