2. What is a Web Service?
Web service is a means by which computers talk to each other over the web using HTTP and other
universally supported protocols.
A Web service is an application that:
Runs on a Web server
Exposes Web methods to interested callers
Listens for HTTP requests representing commands to invoke Web methods
Executes Web methods and returns the results

5. Telnet
teletype network(telnet) is an older Internet Utility that lets you log on to remote computer
systems.
Telnet is a protocol used on the Internet or local area network to provide a bidirectional
interactive text-oriented communication facility using a virtual terminal connection.
7. World Wide Web (WWW)
English Scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented WWW in 1989 at Geneva, Switzerland It proliferate in
Europe
WWW is an Internet service which allows a particularly configured server
computer to distribute documents across the Internet.
WWW is a collection of millions of files stored on thousands of computers
all over the World.

9. HyperText Markup Language(HTML)
HTML is the main ‘Markup Language’ for creating Web pages and other information that can be
displayed in a Web Browser.
HTML is written in the form of HTML elements like <HTML>,</HTML>,<h1>,<h2> etc.
It can embed scripts written in languages such as JavaScript
10. eXtensible Markup Language(XML)
XML is a ’Markup Language’ that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format.
It is defined in the XML 1.0 specification produced by the W3C and several other related
specifications.
12. Internet Protocol Address (IP Address)
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected
to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.
It is Unique for each computer on the Internet.

A web page (also written as webpage) is a document that is suitable for the World Wide
Weband web browsers.
