2. WHAT IS AN ADVERB?
An adverb is a part of speech that provides greater
description to a verb, adjective, another adverb, a
phrase, a clause, or a sentence.
They can be used to used to change, modify or qualify
several types of words.
4. How are adverbs formed?
Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to the end of the related
adjective.
ExceptionALLY,words which end in the word -ble drop
Of the -e before adding -ly

If it relates to a
verb or an
adjective it is
probably an
adverb.
5. ADVERBIAL PHRASE
An adverbial phrase is a group of two or more words that function
as an adverb in a sentence.
EXAMPLE
I parked the car here.
I parked the car right here under the bridge.
The first sentence has a regular adverb ‘here’ while the second sentence
contains a much more informative adverbial phrase.

7. ADVERBIAL CLAUSE
An adverbial CLAUSE is a group of words that functioN as an adverb in a sentence.however it
isn’t just any group of words.It must contain a subject and a verb to be complete.
THEY CAN BE PLACED AT THE BEGINNING,MIDDLE OR END OF A SENTENCE DEPENDING ON WHERE IT SOUNDS
BEST.
EXAMPLE
WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, YOU HAVE TO GO TO BED NOW.
