FONTAINE (CANADA)
A 15-year-old Indigenous girl from Sagkeeng First
Nation, was found dead in Winnipeg's Red River
in August 2014.
She had called multiple social services to help but
they didn’t. She was homeless at 15.
The trial of the man accused of her murder ended
in an acquittal, sparking outrage and calls for
justice reform.

(CANADA)
Serena McKay, a 19-year-old Indigenous woman
from the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba,
Canada, was found dead on April 23, 2017.
She was a victim of a brutal assault that was
